    Patch 1.05 impressions

    - Game performance is even worse for me after patching. - MP is laging badly as it was before patching, its almost imposible to play MP. ( i connecting to servers with ping below 100) - Same sound bugs, im loosing all sounds for 10-15 seconds from time to time. - Its almost imposible to drive a bike :/ - New rusian sniper looks like unfinished addon weapon, left hand doesnt fit weapon at all - its a problem of almost every arma weapon. Im loosing my patience with ArmA .... Waiting for another patch....
  3. I think im somewhere in the midle of the SP campaign and i have strong feeling that friendly AI is only to give you false belief you are not the only one fighting NS forces. First time i noticed that was -----SPOILERS----- Dolores bridges mission where you have to destroy bridge by your own and than destroy several enemy armor vehicles and tanks, i believe if one soldier would destroy 6 enemy tanks in one battle using only infantry AT weapons he propably would receive silver star Second mission which annoys me is operation clean sweep, the mission in which you are supposed to kill enemy infantry in small town, you are with 3 other Special Forces and those stupid morons allways die within first minute of combat, all they can do i go prone in the middle of the street and and shoot ( unacuratly) at worst posible targets. I believe they are in the mission just to give you oportunity to resuply from their dead bodies when you run out of ammo while killing every enemy soldier by your own :/ Very very annoying !!

    Generaly "my perfect frag grenade" ( ) should have some small (2-5 m) instant kill radius ( blast effect) , and huge amount of random projectals ( lets say pistol shots) from point of detonation, it would work like real nades cause efective range od frag nade is up to 15 m ( i believe you could be wounded even at much longer distances if you are badlucky enough ).

    I dont know if this bug is reported already ( propably is) but i noticed that during huge firefightrs ( two big squads of infantry with some armour support fighting each other ) most of sounds suddenly disapear and when i shot my gun sounds like supersonic crack. Its obiously connected to huge number of sounds at the same moment. Do anyone has this problem to ?

    I dont know about You Guys but i hate that Arma has crosshair. Crosshair and zoom makes ironsight totally useless. The accurancy when using crosshair plus zoom is same or better than using ironsigt but your view is obstructed with weapon in ironsight view. Some of You will propably say " dont like crosshair ? turn it off in options" ... so i did but it makes nade throwing and shoting grenade laucher imposible because of lack of 3d ironsight for m203 and lack of any nade throwing marker. Other problem is that in MP most of ppl use crosshair ( "to pwn noobs using ironsights" ) so it is some sort of handicap to use ironsight during MP games . I hope that BIS will fix crosshair in new patch ( make it less accurate pls ! ) or create m203 ironsight and some sort of nade throwing crosshair. To show You my point ive recorded and youtubed short vid showing 249 shoting at long range using crosshair.

    Ad1. During CQC ( Close Quarters Combat ) soldiers ofted throw ( roll ) nades 2-3 meter away from their position. It hapens when they clear rooms or throw nades over walls ot solid fences. Ad2. Tell that to soldiers which receied back their own nade from enemy because they didnt cooked it before throw. Read some historical ww2 books and then try to argue. PS. Cooking nade is nothing more than pulling pin and releasing spon while still holding a nade and throwing it after 2-3 seconds to take away your enemy oportunity to throw back your nade, veteran soldier used this technique to detonate frag nades over hidden enemies.

    This topic touches few lacking aspects of ArmA. 1. Fact that animation has to finish before any other action is perfored ( even dying ) is pretty anoying especialny when you are being shot at I dont know if its an issue which can be resolved with current engine but i hope soo . 2. Nade handlig in ArmA seems to be unfinished ( i hope ) cause there is no short throw or roll. If you want to toss nade not far you have to throw it ( with full strenght ) at your feet and prey itll bouce in right direction 3. There is no nade cocking which seems to be a must in realistic war simulator imho. 4. Sometimes nade bounces like rubber ball, it makes imposible to place nade in desired area. I hope all this problems/lacks will be fixed in one of nearest patches. --EDIT-- Did You noticed that throwing animation sometimes can get you through the fences ? i felt from the chimney once because of that ^^

    Amen. The square diameter would depend on you current condition and stance ( wounded, winded, prone, crouching etc ) .

    Hmm. Simple you say? Tell me then, how does one go about making a crosshair, which is simply a texture floating around the screen, "less accurate?" Honestly, as long as the crosshair is fixed to any position relative to the weapon's line of fire, no matter what shape the crosshair is, it will be just as "accurate" as how well the player has memorized where the bullets hit relative to the crosshair. Maybe you forgot to think that one through, or that you thought somehow the crosshair controls where the bullets go... in which case it doesn't. Sure BIS (or any addon maker, since it IS possible to mod the crosshairs) can try a ton of different crosshair possibilities, but none of them are going to have any effect on the accuracy of the weapon unless it randomly moves in different directions than the gun muzzle, but that would defeat the entire purpose of the crosshair. I don't believe I've ever heard something so stupid, and you should feel bad about saying it. All of these so-called simple answers seem to come from simple-minded people who haven't even thought them through, when in fact the answer is never that simple because if it were it would have been done already. Simple is a matter of opinion based on the scope of a persons perceptions, you think it's a simple answer because you only looked at it in a simple manner, without considering some of the less obvious (but obvious none the less) problems. Why am I making a big deal about this? Because 90% of the shitload of new threads created just to complain about something are created by people who never stop to think why it is like that in the first place. And just for the record, this is another example of how bitchy the community has become, since the crosshairs are EXACTLY the same as they were in OFP and nobody said shit about them then, but now since it's in ArmA it suddenly becomes something BIS obviously should have changed... God! Pure flamewar bait. If you never heard something so stupid You must be realy young person my friend and one more thing ...if You disagree with someone You dont have to isult this person. Im reporting your post to moderator. PS. Its funny when someone who cant imagine how to make crosshair less accurate calls someone a "simple-minded".

    Jesus... dont tell me that You are listening music like thet when flying heli ? And could someone tell me whats the problem with that anoying voice ( like on fast motion) in the backgroud, ive noticed it during some MP games , and its hard to believe that someone is doing that in purpose ( some kind of modification ? ) cause it spoil all the immersion in a secon.

    Before i bought ArmA i was against any form of zoom in game ( except binoculars/scopes of course) after playing ArmA for while i see that small zoom is necesary because some 300-400m infantry engagement would be unposible. Noone can hit a moving pixel so slight zoom is ok, atm zoom is to big imho , it should be smaller but definately it should be in game. The problem arise when we put together ultracurate crosshair and zoom, it makes ironsight useless in my opinion. If someone would like to know my opinion how to make it more realistic and dont spoil gameplay the answer is simple - MAKE CROSSHAIR LESS ACCURATE AND REDUCE ZOOM A BIT. To be honest im realy surprised by crosshair in such a realistic game as ArmA, it like in any arcade shoter, just dont fit the game at all in current shape. Thats why i switched it off .... but nades and GL forced me to tur it back on. @icehollow- please check out my vid from the starting post, it show how accurate crosshair is, notice that enemy is barely visible without binoculars and i killed him with two 2-3 bullet bursts i wasnt prone and i managet to do this in first attempt.

    Hi there ad1. I dont have big problem with aiming at short distances without crosshair or ironsight, second or third bulllet is in target in most of cases , i believe its similar to real life accurancy without using ironsight. ad2. Its more about performace tweaking imho. ad3. You have same shakes when using ironsights after long run, its not the point. ad4. But we are talking about ArmA not OFP ad5. Watch my vid to the end, i was crouched, not prone. ad5. I agree

    Isnt SVD zeroed a bit to far ? I dont know how it looks in RL but it looks a bit silly when i shot at enemy 300 m away and have to aim below him :/

    thats lag Nope, thats this anoying bug. I hate it too. It is anoying when you shot at enemy soldier while he is relading and he drops 2 secs later ( after reloading animation) It realy looks silly , not mentioning that you could save few bullets. But it makes me furious when during firefight i drop prone behing cover while beeing shot at and think " Yeah !! I managed to hide !!" and second later i die !!!
