I would love a dynamic campaign like from ArmA (2 I think it was). The current iteration doesn't have enough mission types, and doesn't have that "feel". Even moreso, I would LOVE a dynamic and persistent resistance campaign. OPF Resistance had a user mission where you start out with 1-3 men, with standard gear. The game keeps track of all of your equipment day to day, gives you missions, let's you save vehicles, etc. You have to keep track of your supplies - new recruits don't have much. Overall it was a really fun experience SP, because every day could be the day that your resistance cell is wiped out. Basically more dynamic campaigns, focusing on logistics and "start off small - get bigger" feel.

And again I answer my own question. I ran a little marker/esp script to see how the mission spawns enemies. Spawning squads of 10+ 1km or so away from the squad isn't nice.
-
I got it. I unpacked your .pbo and turned on the AI. I like the respawn system. :) Any idea how I can get my AI squad members to spawn at the mobile respawn? It's a pain to have them hike all over the place. Also, how do you clear an AO? It seems an infinite amount of trucks/apcs spawn.

[SP/MP] Dynamic Whole Map ArmA3 Missions by SaOk
Kruniac replied to SaOk's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
No. I'll use whatever word I want. Thanks, though. I appreciate your suggestion. :) I assumed (incorrectly) that the mission itself was the problem. Now I know I need to patch my game. I'm working on solving that. I know. I should have explored more possible problems before placing the blame on the mission maker. That's my bad. -
That's fine. :) How do I add AI to the resistance side? I just need to be able to command a squad. Calling in other squads to support would be nice, too.

Really need AI for this map. I loaded it in SP and there were no enemies. Loaded it in SP and got shot by tanks. I was alone. :(

[SP/MP] Dynamic Whole Map ArmA3 Missions by SaOk

I'm not hostile at all. I'm not asking for help fixing "my computer". I'm telling the mission maker to fix the mission. And it turns out I was wrong... That would be the problem. Thank you. :) -
1: The revive system doesn't work. I die, Team Switch, get revived for some reason back at base, and from that point onward I cannot revive again. I must team switch. Maybe because I'm playing SP? 2: The "Dynamic Opposition" system is pretty cheap. I invaded the town to the east of the starting location. I was leading men through a field, when a truck and 8 soldiers spawned about 80m in front of us. We died. The entire concept of "magical spawns" is garbage. Maybe have them spawn in an occupied location (NOT THE ONE YOU ARE AT) and have them send reinforcements. This would give a point to setting road ambushes with technicals. 3: Just a small gripe, as I'm sure it's supposed to be this way. OPFOR needs 3-4 shots to die. They have magical +1 armor. It's annoying. 4: I cannot use more than one squad at a time. This is pretty annoying considering that once you lose 2-3 men, you are combat ineffective. Also, each squad has to start from the base, so any hope of rescuing an undermanned squad is moot.

I misread this. -

I mean that it doesn't make sense. Someone is dead, laying on the ground. People can't take their items? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding. -
You're the greatest. Thank you. :)

[SP/MP] Dynamic Whole Map ArmA3 Missions by SaOk

The scenario locks up every time I play. Usually in the chopper. I'm running the Soviet/NATO weapons mod. ---------- Post added at 12:02 ---------- Previous post was at 11:54 ---------- I disabled all mods, loaded the map again. This time I managed to get out of the chopper (it tried to land in a forest. Wow.). I got in the truck, drove it away from the area, and the map locked up once again. Fix it. -

Sounds pretty bad that you don't drop items when you die. It doesn't make any sense at all. -
Could someone please upload this mission file to a file hosting site like Dropbox or something? Steam Subscribing is stinky.

Im talking reality. People are not real soldiers following they are geeks behind a computer screen u must take that into account. If they want to play a combat simulation, they can play this (Hopefully developed) map. If they dont, they can play normal CTI. This will be for hardcore players only, not "Lawlz u g0t awnt by t3h mizzle!!111oneone11111eleven" people.

It's a game, not war; it needs balance or it's too easy/hard. Yes I've played the demo. On the CTF map it's almost possible to move from one camp to the other undetected if you are patient enough (moving between bushes or crawling through the grass). In OPF you couldnt do this so there is certainly more cover available in ARMA (at least in some parts of the island). Mandrake Balance has nothing to do with a combat simulation. Simulated combats can never be too hard/easy. They are what they are. A scenario involving defending against an ambush would be a -hard- simulation. A scenario involving executing an ambush would be an -easy- simulation. Balance has NOTHING to do with a combat sim. You cant say "Hey guys. Dont use that rifle - its imbalanced" in a realistic combat situation, so dont expect to say it with this game. Hell, id push for an entire anatomy system to be implemented to better chart/display wound effects (Liver hit, muscle but no organs, etc). Realism>Gameplay in THIS game. What so in multiplayer team game (sorry 'combat sim' ) if one team has far superior equipment (= massive tactical advantage) that's gonna be fun for the other side? Which team would you pick, the shooters or the turkeys? Agree to disagree here I guess - I'm sensing some profound confusion about the product we're all discussing  Mandrake Battlefield 2 is a multiplayer team game. So is Counter-Strike. This is more than that. Furthermore, depending on what you would want to be experiencing/simulating, either situation could be entertaining. Why do you think people want to play the Germans in Normandy maps for FPS games? Its all about the seige, baby. I rather like getting raped by a tank while spawning, only to have it screw up, allowing my team to "lift the seige". Makes you feel like you've accomplished something.

Well, the hax0rz for OFP would actually CRASH SP, because they simply werent designed for it. I havent even bothered to check for ArmA cheats, because I feel they would ruin an otherwise great game.
-
Yeah, like anyone ever cared what Gamespy had to say about anything. On subject, however, I was just playing a CTI (If you can even call this JOKE CTI), and it ran more or less smoothly. The dead folks, while plentiful, didnt bother me. This is at 1024 by 768 resolution, with the settings on Normal. Im using a Radeon x1600, 2 ghz processor, and 2 gigs of RAM
-
Im going to say this, because maybe no one else has - You really shouldnt be running this with a 9800. I had a 9800 Pro, and it was a good card, but its outdated, pure and simple. Now I have an X1600, and my performance is.. wow. My 9800 lagged on OFP, as well as a few other games I met the requirements for. If you low-end the graphics, and it still lags/glitches, then it must be the card/drivers.
-
Cheaters in Half Life are one thing. To cheat OFP or this is another matter entirely. Its rather like the old hacks for C&C Renegade - they broke the game, period. In half life, you get aimbotters, wallhackers, and speedhackers. No problem, they can be killed. When I can go to a site and download a hack for OFP that lets me insta-kill anyone, or be invincible, thats just WRONG. ..Dropping bombs on the entire map is kinda funny, in a sick way... Lets just hope the hacks get kept to a minimum. Its hard enough to play a decent game without someone spam killing the entire server.
-
In theory, one could remove that little detail. The game not booting up, that is. It might be a crc check, or a code for code check, but it could -probably- be bypassed. Of course, you'd have to find someone to do it, and the only people I know of would charge you $100.

I have OP:F GOTY Edition so i cant install the BIS Camel pack. Gives me crap about not having 1.91 installed. The problem is i cant seem to find the Camel pack as a zip or individual files anywhere. Anyone want to give me some help on this? I love Dynamic Campaigns (Even The Partisan), and i love WWII campaigns even more. Thanks folks.
