What about my chipset software question? Does anyone have any experience with updating that?

So all I have to do is install Dynamic Range and then Wright's fix for the default reticle if I want to keep the default reticle, correct?

Avon Lady, What is the difference between Wright's fix for the Dynamic Range with custom reticle and Wright's fix for the Dynamic Range with default reticle. What does a sound mod have to do with reticles?

Well, I'm going to get rid of my SB Live. Does anyone have any suggestions for a card that runs well under Windows XP and isn't too expensive?

Hey all, I decided to update my chipset software and BIOS in an effort to fix my sound problems with OF. Since I have only a vague idea of how to do this, it may seem crazy that I'm risking the health of my computer for one game; such is my love for OF though. Anyway, has anyone done this? What should I look out for? It says on the site where my updated chipset software is that it should be installed before my device drivers. Does that mean I will have to reinstall all my drivers? Also, I downloaded a BIOS update the other day, but when I click on it, nothing really happens. A small window opens up with a command prompt in it I think, the screen flashes quick and the window closes. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help everyone.

I love OF, but I sure do suck at flying helicopters and planes. I know my keys aren't analog, but they seem to respond that way when I'm attempting to manuever. It's also extremely difficult for me to line up a missile run on a convoy. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I never played a chopper/plane sim before, is there something I should be aware of? Do I need to use a joystick? Also, when commanding tanks, why do they rock when you order a turn? Say I order the tank to turn left. Why does it turn left just a little bit only to shift right again when it stops turning left? Do I have to hold the key down or what to make larger turns? I know you don't have to hold the forward and reverse key down to sustain movement, but how about when turning? Thanks in advance for the pointers everybody.

I noticed it when I was using the onboard AC97 sound. Then I picked up a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 card thinking that would help and it didn't. How can it be the card when my onboard sound did the same thing?

Hi all, Can you guys recommend any good campaigns or add-ons that you consider a must? Also, how is the Desert Storm mod? Does it include a campaign? I'd like to know if it is any good before spending the time downloading it. Thanks!
