I also tried linux native dedicated server, but encountered the same problem with crCTI as you and in Domination some times the camps and radio tower didn't spawned. So I decided to switch to windows dedicated under wine, and now all is working as expected.

Hmm, we are running an open server, but voting isn't allowed on our server for many good reasons. So to run this mission we have to allow voting, but even then many players don't know how to vote and they also not know why they should vote, because there is no other mission, that I know, that need admin to play. So players are not trained in this. This mission is now very good for well organized teams, where everybody knows each other, but on open servers the most players are not organized and playing often for their own. So if you really want to make a popular mission like domination it is, you need to support all new/unexperienced players better. To do so, it would be better to have more than one team on a server for open playing. There are two reasons for: 1. A well organized team don't want to play with a noob, that even starting this game and would only help to degrade the team. 2. A new player mostly like to check out things on their own, also to not disturb/destroy the plans of another players. So the best solution would be, when a new player could choose to open his own team (and being leader) or ask another leader to join his team. Every team leader have to approve new team members, when they ask to join. With this option this mission could also be played as team competition, where players could show how good their teams are. And you don't need an admin anymore -

I didn't read the 33 pages of postings, but how makes it sense to make a mission, that isn't playable without an admin on a server ? Especially in arcade mode, where you talk about domination like mission. -

It happens now two times: After my Bradley was destroyed, I still was sitting in and living in my full and bright burning Bradley, that shouldn't happen in real live . First time I was injured after I got out of the wreck, but the second one even this didn't happened. I know that I'm godlike, but maybe you should get me back to the floor :D -

There seems to be generally a problem with the AI after a reconnect to the server. In my case in started at the same position on the map, my vehicles were there, also my old AI soldiers were sitting in them, but I was not the commander of them anymore. Ok, with mission info->team status you can reget the controll of them. -

Very cool mission so far. Also very nice base design. I personally would be happy with more difficulty, but anyway. One problem I found so far is with recruited AI soldiers after changing clothes for a mission. After I changed my clothes, my AI soldiers disappeared from my squad members at the bottom of hud. After this number 2 tried to command me all the time, so it seems I still was in this squad. This problem also doesn't recover after reconnect to the server. I also got negative Points for changing the clothes, that degraded me. Is this intended to be so ? Caveeats: Having the base not near a runway, makes the returned/stolen aircrafts difficult to use. The sand barriers on the roads makes the AI completelly unable to drive. -

Trying to validate a new mission after server start and get "you must be one of the 3 best team members to communicate with HQ", but how should i do this at start where no mission is selected and i'm the only one player on the server ? ---------- Post added at 04:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ---------- Ok. I found it out: you have to recruit yourself in a team first to be accepted as one of the best 3 members -
Arma II Linux Server 1.04 Public Alpha

Ok, now the server is able to run on two cores, as we observed it on windows. But it seems like the server code still can't split the AI-computing part into two or more threads, which is the most important one. I run the test-mission without cpucount and with cpucount 3 and 4. There was no difference between those runs. After at least 30 min the server dropped to 16-17 FPS, but the server process never produced load over 150% (100% = 1 core at full load). Mostly it was at around 120% CPU load. Test-mission: Warfare BE 2.0.44, 10 AI squads with AI commanders on each side System: 2.6.28-vs2.3.0.36.4-gentoo (which means Gentoo kernel 2.6.28 running some Vservers 2.3.0.36.4) CPU I7 RAM 8 GB System load without arma2server running is something about 0.3-0.5 -

Finally we got it Thanks Bohemia !!! For us it's running fine on a Gentoo 2.6.28-vs2.3.0.36.4 so far, but it's only using 1 CPU regardless of the cpucount param or without it. It is intended to be so? We hoped this would enable us to play big battles with many AI's :butbut: -
Not time for a final LINUX dedicated ?
Joe_Cool replied to Apache-LOL-'s topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Yeah, that's really a shame! We are waiting since X-mas for an updated version of linux server, so since nearly two months. Meanwhile we can't play latest missions, because they are sometimes based on 1.09. Also the community is splitted and can't play together. This is very frustrating. Where are the times as we got OFP up to version 1.96? Now we have 1.09 Windows BETA, 1.08 linux and then... Arma 2? But with this poor support, I don't know whether I will be interested in it -
I tried to download the mission about 2 days, but wglcti.com ist not reachable for me. Does anyone have the same problem or is the site simply down ?

It's really annoying when players start to attack more than one city at the same time and the server drops below 20 FPS or lower. To get this managed we need the information where the players are acting to find the bad guy and ban him or the missions have to disallow the activation of more than one city at the same time, so we will get a linear mission where you can only attack the citys one after the other. Or do anyone see another solution for this problem?
