I've had OPF for years and the best performance I ever had was on 1.2 GHZ AMD Athlon w/ 512mb ram, Geforce 3 ti 200. At current I rarely get above 20fps when action kicks off and suffice to say my system is alittle bit better then back then. Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 Geforce 7600 GT 256mb 2048GB Fast DDR ram I've tried using various different mods (mostly BAS Redux+SLX) but no matter what the settings are at, always low fps during a firefight. Ideally I want 2xAA & 4xAF with a view distance of 3000 but right now thats not possible. Can someone point me in the right direction as why and what I can do.

I changed because of poor Ati drivers I was getting hitches all over the place with a 1950 in other games, 7600GT, no issues. I'll give that max mem ago previously I had done -512

From 1.4 to 1.08, performance has got worse and by god I've had it up to high heavens trying to figure out why this is. In fact this is more like a last ditch effort to somehow have Arma redeem itself before I snap the disk and chuck it in the bin. Right; Ininitally my rig was 3800AMD 64/ 1024gb ram, ati 1950pro. Performance rarely peaked above 30 FPS this is using all kinds of different settings. Now my current rig is; Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 Geforce 7600GT 2048 of very fast & expensive ram. And again, the frame is aweful. I've tried formatting my PC, the pagefile trick, Dual Core optizmation reg hack, I've tried all the lastest drivers. Tried removing addons / clean installs of Arma. Even downloaded 1.0 Czech version just to see if my 1.4 UK version DVD was some how broke. Nothing seems to work. So if someone would be so kind as to list any/all tweaks possible I'd appericate it as the Tech thread is very long and confusing. I really would love to discover what its like in Northen sector the map.

Care to enlighten, where do you get that rifle or the kit to turn an airsoft rifle into a laser pointing device.

can you achieve the same effect with say Airsoft rifles, projectors and high spec PC - Or this there something else I would need?

Well I've tried everything on Very Low - to Very High. No change other the visual look. I don't like the HDR so I tend to turn it off where possible (Low) AA is turned off, though in 1.04 I could habe it on Low/Medium with no effect on my frame rate. I'd gladly go back to 1.04 but unfortantly alot of great addons would not work anymore. I'd settle for terrain looking poor w/ a large view distance (currently stuck below default) with decent looking models/textures at close range with little grass.

I've started to encouter an unusual problem with Flashy. Basically after a while in whatever i am doing, it could be a big missions, messing around in the editor or even fiddling with my settings, I'll get massive slowdown to the point where I have no FPS (Even in mission editor) Buttons can't be pressed and the mouse stops responding but Flashy continues but very slow. 2.4 AMD at 2.0 512DDR 9800SE XP Sp2

I am using ECP and I was using FFUR 2006 (I exepcted my fps to be low on that anyway) I'm afraid drivers make little difference it would seem, usually worse. I'll try the paging the file however, I have 2 HDD's one very small one and one very large one split into two sectionds (D:\ and (G:\ - Games where flashy is located) On which Partion should I put my page file?
