    DMA TOYOTA WARS

    Sorry for the stupid question. I read the readme with the ECP unit replacement edition of Toyota wars that I downloaded and I couldn't find any documentation regarding having a unit be able to "stand" in the back of the Toyota utes. What's the script or INIT line to enable this action? I've seen it posted up in the screenshots section so many times, yet I can't figure out the way to make them stand on the truck bed, anyway your help is much appreciated!!

    Ahhh thanks! I just wanted to know if I stuffed up my config and my soldiers were walking too low to the ground or something. (We need a Qantas and a Jetstar plane, that way we can have a totally 733t "Australian airfare price warz mod". And just have a mission where you ride a plane for several hours. Ha! Nice work, hope you have time for other real life activities because you're an addon making machine.

    Quick question. Does this addon support a soldier unit walking into the inside of the plane when the vehicle is on the ground and the air stairs are deployed? I tried it with the last batch of planes but was unable to enter into the passenger section of the fuselage. (Ie. Like Martin's DC3) If this doesn't have that functionality that's cool, I just want to know if I'm doing something that I can't actually do. Nice work, will have to download this when I get home.

    Wow you guys don't do things by halves do you? It takes a degree of effort to make top quality looking addons like you have done already. But it takes a whole new level of awesomness to create something with functional and tactical value within the OFP sphere. Hope you guys get enough support helpwise. I'd help out but I'm very basic at texturing and I'm only good at sound editing.

    Wow nice work, you've really captured the atmosphere of the tunnels very well. I don't suppose there will be any support for AI pathway LODs will there? (Would be pretty complicated I suspect) But if there were... man that would make you some kind of Vietnam addon maker god. Hope it all comes together.     M1A2 SEP 3.0

    So much argument about the armour values here. My 2cents !!!OPFOR COMPATABILITY!!! Remember DKM's BlackEagle (Another BEAUTIFUL (aesthetically - model/texture wise etc) tank with much speculation with regards to its real-life capability as a AFV?) Â An addon tank whose armnaments were basically an uparmoured BIS T-80, firing the same level shells as the BIS T-80? Not as many people used it because its armour and gun values were deemed as too weak and people didn't agree that it was so easy to destroy. The M1a2 seems to be suffering from the inverse problem. The thing is, this tank is a beautiful piece to behold in Opflashpoint, there is no doubt about it. A lot of effort and painstaking amount of detail was put into this amazingly accurate looking tank same way that DKM put detail into their tank. However the armour and ammo values of this tank are a GAMING (We're not talking military fact or ficton here.. GAMING a completely different world) liability for anyone that wants to play SP against this tank, or MP in this tank. Â Why? Â Because this tank has no real OPFOR equivalent on the field. Â It's like saying, because I'm in this tank, I am now playing God Mode. Â I know it's a contentious issue, and I understand the reasons put forward by the creators. Â But the armour values simply push this tank into an area where without end-user modification of the CPP file, no user in MP will want to play against it. Â Meaning that anyone who wants to play with it, will have to play alone in SP games. The development and implementation of CAVS (gameplay wise)is vital to this project, to prevent it from dying out of sheer - how do I say this? Â Ummm ego-bashing/namecalling/tankfanboy grudge from either side. Â The only released equivalent of the CAVs project is the Sigma range of tanks. Released so many years ago. When Sigma released that range of tanks T-72/T-80/T-90 (with slight visual modifications, nothing fancy, just so as you could recognise the outlines etc..) he payed ALOT of attention to the CPP armour and shell values of the tank. Â It was as accurate as he could make it. Â In that pack a M1a2 could destroy a T-90 with one shot, yes - that as was true, however a T-90 had a longer engagement range thanks to its bore-launched REFLEKS missile. Â This was the equaliser, not the dominator. Â Specialisation vs Variation. Â East vs West. I'll be honest I'm a Sigma fanboy here. Â For all it's visual indifference, that pack was PERFECT. I cannot stress how many People STILL use this pack. Â Regardless of its age. Â The T-90 is beautifully matched against the M1A2. Someone in the forum said it before. Â Addon makers will always be biased to their own addons. Â Thus the armour value "creep" in most addons. Inq & Homer, ORCS, RHS, DKM et all should strive to cooperate or at least say have a IMPARTIAL THIRD PARTY deal with a config that covers all recently released tanks for OFP. This should be a SEPARATE addon altogether, so addon-makers can still have their OWN versions used and loved by the general public. Â But believe me, if someone not so much evened out, but put genuine unbiased armour values for all of these tanks - people would use it in DROVES. Â Which is better for all Addon makers - because face it. Â We all want to be loved for our work? Â Ha! Look at FFUR, Y2K3 etc. Â People use these mods to play with already released addons because some else realised the disparity of some addons vs others. Â So they create a unified CPP which governs over that Mod's virtual world which doesn't contained the inevitable bias of the original addon maker. Â THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. Â It makes the addons which were once incompatible - compatible. Please don't forsake playability of your amazing addons for contentious side issues and ego. I know there has been much attacking of ORCS, Homer etc. Â It doesn't need to be this way. Â We're a community of very different people. Â In fact, it's funny, sappy, ironic, but old national enemies become great friends online thanks to being able to blow each other to pieces in this game. Pull together and this addon, and this game will still be awesome. Thanks for all your work. Â These are beautiful tanks. Â I hope it all gets sorted somehow. Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

    Hmm this is happening only to you. We have flown the FFUR Kiowa and the only bug it has is that the mast sight "V" shows a blank screen and this has already been reported as a bug to the FFUR team many times and they are about to fix it. I can assure you this about the seating is not ahppening to other people, nor at least on our server. I have read some post from Thunderbird on previous page about some troubles on the seating on different extra add on units and how to fix it, although I assume you are talking about the stock Kiowa that comes with FFUR pack and no any other addition. I'm actually talking about the alternate config that's included in the FFUR pack. It's the config.bin that comes in the MP folder (located in Yourflashpointfolder\FFUR\BIN\MP\. (You drop it in BIN folder and it replaces most of the vehicle models back to their BIS equivalents so there's less lag on a server) However, you can play the default config in MP with replacement vehicle models and that's not a problem. I'm talking about the config that is specifically for MP. Does this make sense? Sorry - I may have explained things a little weirdly

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

    I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I'll bring it to the table. In the MP version of the FFUR config, the Kiowa's pilots are standing on top of the helicopter. They can't pilot and ultimately fall off and die. Wierdness. I'm not sure what's going on here, but it's also strange that the Kiowa's model is the newer replacement model, rather than the BIS model, in line with all the MP config settings? Kiowa in default config works fine BTW. Just MP config that's a bit mussed up. Otherwise. Yeah, I'm getting Joygasms from this mod. Thanks!!

    M1A2 SEP 3.0

    Kick me if this has already been asked before. They are REALLY lovely tanks. Â The only thing that stops me from using them all the time, everytime and especially in config replacements is their tendency to make my box drop FPS. Â Not really anyone's fault but my own - however many people experience this. Have you ever considered releasing a lower definition (lower first LOD polycount) edition of this great tank with all the features remaining the same? Â It might make it easier to implent these things into Multiplayer and have higher number of tanks in Single player. (Kind of what the Our Weapons guys did, with their Mi-8 - which I understand was just a texture resolution drop - but with the tank you could replace parts with lower polies as an alternative release) Gameplay wise, a lower definition tank may give rise more opportunities for things like intense CTI and tank platoon play. These tanks are lovely from a distance. Â As well as close up. But when you get up close it's good to make sure it's only one tank in view. (Just looking, at two of these beauties on desert island makes my shitbox computer have a heart attack) (I really need a machine upgrade. Don't I? Â ) Just a suggestion and by no means a complaint or snark. Â I really do appreciate the fact you guys still work on this and make it better and better. Â Again thanks for your effort. This community would suck without people like you.

    Yeah, about that sound issue at the moment I'm effectively being flanked by a Toyota Hilux with a Russian cannon on the back. I was trying to attack a stronghold in a quick mission and lo and behold I'm shot to pieces from behind at 50metres by what I thought (until it moved and fired on me) was a white rock. You know, if it was a lone spetnatz soldier with a suppressed weapon - fair enough, but a goddam AI controlled pick up truck - that's simply too embarrassing for my own 733t gamer ego Hah! Toyota Technicals.... the silent killer. Â Still I'm having a great deal of fun with this. Thanks for all the hard work. (Also windows seem to be bulletproof until just before the vehicle explodes... Â Is this a bug or simply a SP gameplay feature? Â Like the high armour value on the original BIS abrams?)

    Mais non! Configs are my favorite after scripts, so much to work with, playing around with them... one time I made a helicopter with a rotor dive of 90 degrees - it was like flying an Osprey... This has been a long winded project.  But I want to wrap this up.  (At the latest mid-year).  Basically this is a radio voice pack.  I already have three voices done. 1.  Generic Female (no word alterations) (ex girlfriend) (This is shipping out with the full-functional female pack I'm creating in parralel to this project) 2.  Generic Male (no word alterations) (me) 3.  Terrorist. (Chechen terrorist accent - ethnic Russian accent word alterations referencing terrorist cliches) (me) Each of these have taken a long time to record.  Partly because they're so fiddly with recording, splicing and WSSing then reconfigging the voices back into OFP.  But so far I have been very happy with the results. I want to finish the recording of the other voices I have planned, all of which will have some alterations to the word structure to reflect national and colloquial nuances. Here are the planned accents (These are all in ENGLISH):  Very generically of course - don't try to regionalise these accents, as they can be muddled - I'm only just one person!!  ): 1. English GI (South London?  n/s) 2. Scottish GI (Glasgow accent) 3. Australian GI (The voice I used when I worked for the police force) 5. *Whispered* American (For SF) 6. American GI - Southern 7. American GI - Latino (If I have time) 8. Civillian (This is mostly dumbed-down, non-mil-speak changes - I still need to ascertain a useable accent for the civvie, otherwise I'll just use my own accent (australian) 9. Civillian Female (If new girlfriend agrees... hmmm.)  10. (?)  South East asian  Hmmm. I'm compiling a list of things alternate things in place of the original voice commands that these people would say.  Below is the list at the moment.  Please use this topic to add WORTHWHILE additions to the list(Which I'll be taking for the next two weeks) Just list out an alternative radio call for a particular soldier to say (From the above list).  And I'll add it to the list at home.  So as I have a couple of varations before I start recording. The accent pack is middling between real-life accuracy and simply for the sake of variation.  So if you don't agree with something let me know, but don't whinge incessantly about it - because nobody likes that. Also if you have any personal radio packs that you've made and just don't have time to release, I can include it into this pack.  Just PM me. After recording I will have to make some identities to put into the config file so as AI uses these new voices - so this may take some time. - But watch this topic for any updates and betas which may come out within the next month.     I get the same problem as snowball. The walk animations only work for the AI. If the player is using the undeployed juggernaut it just rolls without moving its legs like the old Wanzer addons. Does the FWATCH version matter? I don't know if I have the old one. - downloaded from OFP.info link on the juggernaught page.

    DMA Army Pack: Now Improved!

    Thanks! Although as luck would have it, I only fixed this problem just yesterday. Exporting bits Mr Teacup's LA enabled ECP Config and importing them into the DMA army CPP. So it all works great. But again thanks. I think all mods should incorporate LA (until something better comes up obviously) - but that's just my opinion. Thanks to all for enhancing my OFP experience.

    This is a good idea - it would solve the variations of ordance/armour classes etc. Â The only problem could be this script running for every instance a single round is fired and hits. Â Big firefights may get rather laggy. Â Hmmm. Â Tricky one this. Â

    Some quick ideas about close combat. (Sorry if I'm already voicing stuff that is already known) Pistol Bolter and normal Bolter ammo should probably be valued to kill a unit within 8 to 10 or so shots. High dispersion may not work at such close range. (You can always uprate the unit's armour as well.. but that causes issues with other forms of combat) But limited ammo damage should (That's the whole point of armour isn't it?) This goes the same for HE splash damage. It makes for more frenetic combat too. Whereas close combat weapons such as the Powerglove, Chain swords etc should have the incapacitating effect like conventional kinetic weapons of today. It should give people and AI a better opportunity to engage in Close Combat. Anyway I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Amazing stuff.
