Bleh.... I am stupid and blind and did not noticed that you were writing that americans stole concept from russians, not russians form americans... plof.

Someone fed you dome horrible info! They aren't even close! MiG-25 isn't even fighter, its an interceptor.<span id='postcolor'> Heh... I can see, that's you who is smokin weed here... Or you just aren't very familiar with aviation... Of course MiG-25 isn't fighter, but americans 'borrowed' it's succesful aerodynamic concept for their F-15.<span id='postcolor'> Important thing to say is that MiG-25 is not a common intercept machine. It was designed for intercepting fast american spy-planes such as U-2 or SR-71. Aims of the designers was to build a plane capable of reaching such heights and destroing american intelligence aircraft. MiG-25 has been also designed for reconessaince missions, playing same role as fast SR-71 (russian hq was very upset of not having machine capable to do same reconessaince missions as first U-2 mission over moscow at 4th July 1956). There is a funny story about the flight of early version of MiG-25 from russian base in Egypt. It was one of the first attempts to reach 3 Ma on this jet. After reaching nearly 3 Ma, the cockpit-glass, not prepared fot high temperatures, started to melt :] Fortunately, the pilot had time to slow down the machine and he survived and landed safely. Afterwards, the cockpit glass material has been redesigned :] As I know, MiG-25 overall conception has been not borrowed from americans (at leas mostly). MiG-25 are of course to some extend simillar, but there are more differences than simillarities. Saying that F-15 conception has been stolen is same as saying, that britain stolen conception from MiG-21 (1956) to create British Aerospace Lightning (1960)... Moreover... MiG-25 has been created in 1964, and F-15 in 1972 :]]]

I think it is the MIL corporation actually who makes them blue... there was a reason for them to do that but I can't remember now<span id='postcolor'> Reason is quite simple, If you know the painting techniques... While painting metal object (as well as many others), you make several layers of painting, with bottom layer specialised to protect metal from corosion, and the outside layer to give object specified color and surface... Russians, to keep the costs low, used only the indispensable part of painting, the layer wich kept metal uncoroding... and... there was almoust only one type of anty-corosive paint in whole russia... this blue one :]

I think that the problem they are working on now is to land vertically too :] As I remember, there was no landing in movie, so I assumed that probably they are having problems with this part, what is clearly understandable - while takeoff, they made something that pushes plane up - as I understand. And then, they try to fly forward... but to land, they have to stop machine in air, and then pull the plane down, wich is very, very hard to do as I think... So, overall, altough it seems to be almoust finished, we could wait for a long time till this little flying can will be able to land same as it did with take-off...

BUT I think better way would be putting in the plane the sings of the many nations and to change them via init field (exactly as in UH-1 from SEB NAM pack the front painting is changeable).<span id='postcolor'> That is a VERY good idea! I liked very much how you could change the markings on the SEB NAM2 Hueys. You are 100% right. That would indeed solve the problem about national flags on the aircraft! I hope your idea is implemented in the Mig-21. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD><span id='postcolor'> ofcourse its an real good thing maybe i will do it but i think in later versions but dont know at this time becouse im busy with other "more importent projekts" (<--- i´m sorry to say that) but that doesnt mean that the mig is dead no it just mean that the mig will need a lots of time<span id='postcolor'> I agree. As making MiG-21 in 'universal' version will take a lot of time, and everybody want to play with MiG-21 as fast as possibly, the best way would be to release MiG-21 for East in first throw, then later MiG-21 'universal', could be even with a) changable markings b) 2-3 types of cammo, changeable same way (if possible)... Of course, I mean that second release would be not only for resistance side, it would be general update (sth. like version 2.0), because more time would able you to fix some errors / enhance scripting. And about these textures, and markings... It is only my own idea... but... maybe you would ask guys from Lavos mod (these who made MT-LB :) for help/cooperation, their textures are always GREAT and they would be able to enhance your addon in other ways too, as well as it will split the work :] That would be great for addon :] I hope they will help, because I feel they know how MiG-21 existance (in best possible quality) is important for OFP... -

The text you have pasted is wronlgy-coded and untranslatable Flashpoint.ru: Can you tell something about the history of creation mode and the command mode? Tigershark: BAS was created on base of Tigershark/Jellybelly Productions - TJP. Jellybelly's first devisewas to create realistic textures for addons. I was a very large fan of aviation engineering so without delay I helped him. Soon we have done several good addons, for example - Pavehawks, which gained popularity in the world OFP. OFP-community accepted our addons and it estimated their quality and creating BAS which had a principle - principle of quality. Many of our command count also when they the part of the well organized and solid command. Our principle - quality. I'm confident that our OF MOD will earn that popularity that it it deserved for our labor. Flashpoint.ru: Will be all addons planned on your site released? Tigershark: We would finish them all in any event; we are posting information about them only before the release. We will not believe in "public betas". We want to let out each addon so good so that it would not have to make any patches or additives to it. Therefore our projects take much time. We plan many projects and after output Ranger/Delta pack (which will be released very soon) we plan many more projects. Flashpoint.ru: Will you create any new animations for addons? Tigershark: We create new animations where we can, for example to able the soldiers to shoot while sitting inside MH-6 Littlebird but it seems that some ideas cannot be carried out; therefore we will add animation everywhere we can. Deadmeat, our animator, is the person you can asked about the details. Flashpoint.ru: Will there be released the renovated versions of helicopter MH-47e and motorcycle Kawasaki KLR250 together with Delta/Ranger pack? Tigershark: We will include the new version Kawasaki KLR250 in our Ranger/Delta pack. Motorcycle is completely altered and retekstured. About MH-47e Chinook we are thinking about letting out new version in this month, but we cannot guarantee that helicopter will be able to transport and hold the cargo; but we will add flares, optional raised dust from the hearth of helicopter and several other additions. I think that Mh-60l Blackhawk also is almoust good to be released, but it was not to be released currently because of our employment; but now we can finish it. Flashpoint.ru: What does still hangs the release of Ranger/Delta pack and when it will be released? Tigershark: We canceled releasing of the pack for replacing the textures in M249 SAW, replacing the helmets, the addition of the camouflage persons for AI also we added SOCOM pistol with the silencer and without it and repaired some bugs in LODs Flashpoint.ru: When the MOD will be completed will you release it freely or take some money for it? Tigershark: We will release it freely. Our entire work is for OFP society Flashpoint.ru: Can you tell something about your plans for the future? Tigershark: We have some plans of projects for East and Resistance. But first we want to release Talibans and Al-Quaeda. But so far I cannot deal any details with you. We already began it's development, but firstly we want to finish what we have began... I hope I haven't done many mistakes, my russian knowledge is poor. If any mistakes - notice me, I will correct it through edit

Gearretracting=false slows aircraft down
Johann "onn" Bitsoenn replied to Pennywise's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
WELL... I do not see anything wrong in plane being slower with gearRetracting=false... If plane does not have retractable gears, it means that they are all the time outside wich SURELY slows down plane (comparing to it's enginepower). Plus for BIS :]
