If you send a message or email to AVG, they will flag it as a safe file in thier next update, which is usually everyday. I use AVG free myself as well, as it seems to be the best virus scanner with the smallest footprint in terms of system resources, that and the fact that it's free . I can't see uninstalling my virus application as a valid option to be able to install these addons... -
Great work bro! To have such a small amount of little 'imperfections' here and there is quite the feat for how quickly this was released for us to play with. The base rocks btw dude, it's got great vantage points over areas of possible attacks, especially the concrete towers.

I'm working on a sound pack which uses the lines and voices from that series. Basically it's just samples of speech audio from the show and I'm currently using the RUG DSAI (dynamic sound engine) as the base. If it's ok with the guys who created the RUG DSAI Addon, I'll release a "Generation Kill" U.S. AI speech kit for it. These units would go great with it, excellent work dude! Outstanding! Get some! -
Just one other little suggestion. You might want to consider maybe importing or creating 1 to 2 meter sized satellite dishes to go on some of the roofs in the town. When I see pics from Iraq, theres always shit-loads of dishes on the sides or tops of peoples homes.

Any progress on finding out what is killing the tracer lighting effects on buildings and objects? The lighting effects at night during a firefight really increases the atmosphere and realism. Cool looking base BTW.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with your system, it's the same as mine except I have my E6600 o/c'd at 3.6 and I have 2 8800 Ultra's in SLI. It's wierd that it crashes all the time for you... hmm. Would you say it crashes exactly after a certain amount of time playing? I take it you're machine is only freezing up using SLX in ArmA and not other games correct? -

This mod runs fine on my system, and I consider it now after a year of owning it to be of medium range... What other addons and/or mods are you launching with SLX? Whats your system specs? -

Yeah same here. No lighting effects on the buildings are visible with tracers using SLX either... Other than the above mentioned, this map is absolutely fantastic. I love the garbage along the streets, the bins, the road layout, everything! It's very submersive. Awesome job!

The problem with reducing the maneuverability on Ground to Air missiles in ArmA is the fact that the missile will 99% of the time, completely just fly right past the target without detonating if you don't get other values PRECISELY right as in the thrust speed and thrust time. I played with the values for HOURS one night, trying different things. I wanted to keep the "look" of the missile taking off as in actually being able to see it launch and fly towards it's target, at the same time keep it effective. In my previous post the config.cpp entry is what I found to give the best results for that kind of missile system.

Hehehe, this is friggin neat as hell... Watching these missiles take off with the SLX mod is super cool, nice thick smoke trails... I just wish the smoke trails could be seen for a longer period of time behind the missile with a little more damage caused to the aircraft it's engaging... The awesome thing about this addon is the ability to outrun and out-manuever this missile in a fast jet. I was the gunner in the F/18 addon jet and I could see the missile bearing down from behind, WAYY COOL!

I just last night got around to trying these out in the editor, and the only hard thing is trying to find any current islands GOOD ENOUGH to go with these buildings... They truly are amazing pieces of work and really deserve new islands and custom landscapes created for them. Great work. Has anyone used these buildings in any released/un-released islands as of yet? I'd love to see some screenshots if so... Jocko -
