Do they try to run away/take cover from thrown grenades? I've done some testing (in different behaviour modes) and they don't seem to notice them.
-
I tried that, but that bastard didn't want to eject until I landed. So I was forced (by a voice in my head) to order him to go to the end of the runway and then I took off again :p

Zero FZ, I want to be able to turn around as quickly as possible. Well not all animations. Lie down, keep moving your mouse to the left (or to the right) and watch the gun and the hands, now do the same in the 3rd person. See the difference?

Almost good landing... -
What were the specs on the PC that ran the ARMA II trailer?
IronTrooper replied to ycat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
When you're making a video, you don't have to record the game at real time speed. You can slow down the game and then make the video faster to avoid many lags in the resulting video. You also don't have to record and have the game run on the same computer, one PC with tv-out and another with tv-in and you have a nice smooth video. So the trailer PC specs don't really matter. -
It would be best if the zoom was toggle and the rifle remembered the last zoom. It would also allow more than 2 zooms for some rifles.

new climbing animation for new structure!
IronTrooper replied to GLeek's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
We Are Getting Aggravated... AI should definitely climb over obstacles just like human players or go some other way. I agree with this. Even though I'd like to see climbing over big walls too, probably a soldier in full gear couldn't make it, so it's ok if they don't add that. -
Really? A crosshair for a "realistic" sim?
IronTrooper replied to teach's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I just wanted to say that you don't really need a crosshair to know where your gun points. Look at this game: http://dslyecxi.com/botg_infiltration.html It also has a floating zone (freeaim) but a little larger FOV, so you can see more of your gun and thus very well 'guess' where it points, when you're not looking down the sights. But I don't really care about this crosshair problem as long as the floating zone can be turned off. When you have it off and even the crosshair, you can still shoot pretty well simply because the gun points 99% of the time in the screen center. -
I mentioned this problem in the 1.03 suggestions (too bad nobody reads this stuff). Check out this with your own avatar in the third person view. There's an animation that should be there always. When the turn is too big he helps with his hands.

This was my spot, until a tank "blew up" my cover :) -
I'd be happy if the game was using 100% of my cpu :) With my quadcore it's also about 60% :/

Fix the game's performance on AMD Phemon II's
IronTrooper replied to MacBradley's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Maybe it's because you have windows xp. I have vista and in the campaign fps go definitely below 30. I'd like to see some PII in different OS's test. -
I have a SAITEK Joystick Cyborg EVO, works without a problem, in the flight simulators I've tried too. But I can't say how it works in Windows 7, I have Vista (64bit).

Hey monty, you can still see a lot thru that, but look at me trying to surprise enemies around the corner: No, that's not a muzzle flash :) -

I like the lighting here :p -
Could fire (like from a burning vehicle) hurt nearby people? For example, when I destroy a bmp, it explodes and most of the soldiers around die, but some of them survive and keep shooting regardless of the fire a meter from them. I'd like either the AI move away or die after a while (I suppose the latter is simplier to program). Something about animations. I've noticed that in the third person view my avatar moves his legs and hands when he turns around, but in the first person he doesn't. Could this be done for the first person too? It would not just look better but in proning position it would also limit one's shooting abilities like in real life.

You can try to turn off 'Enhance pointer precision' in Windows Control Panel -> Mouse. If that doesn't help, it's probably a hardware problem (slow graphics card or cpu).

Patch or Demo which do you prefer to come first?
IronTrooper replied to Chomp's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
What is the meaning of this poll? If you already have the game why would you want the demo to be released first and why would you not want the patch? The poll could be 'who has the game' just as well. And I doubt this poll will effect devs' decision since they said making the demo helps them find bugs. So it will most likely be both released in the same moment. -

I would like some variations too or maybe, to make it simple, it would suffice if the actual texture was randomly rotated and possibly its transparency being dynamically changed during the shot.

Serious unexplainable Performance Differences - got proof
IronTrooper replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I guess they could optimize this a little but as dvolk pointed out, it wouldn't really matter as you don't look right into walls or ground most of the time. -
Serious unexplainable Performance Differences - got proof
IronTrooper replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Helmut_AUT: About your first post. How can the engine know you are just looking in the wall made of continuous polygons?? What if there was a small hole right bellow or above that wall which would allow you to see other objects behind it?? The engine would have to do lots of calculations to figure that out and that would mean more stress to cpu (even though less to gpu). It renders most of objects in front of you all the time to avoid visual bugs. I say leave the optimization to devs, you're hardly going to find something they don't know already about. -
Please do not discuss physics engine too much here. It's already made many threads 3x longer with no real conclusion in the end. About death animations - a few more variations should suffice.

"- Maskacova wallet with logo" Maskacova means with military(camouflage) design/look and "- 2x piece of paper" lol, are supposed to be 2x paper figures/figurines (I don't know of what :) ) Although they don't mention it here: http://xzone.cz/nahledgame.php3?idg=2423 But atleast there is a better picture of the bag :) EDIT: Also the T-shirt is only one.
