    Also our newly purchased Leo2A4 can be counted amongst our MBT arsenal. There are many things to be considered as addons in Turkish Army actualy, Rocket artilleries of several types, howitzers and self propelled artilleries, other types of light armored vehicles and in a few days, our new attack chopper, etc... etc... We hope that with the appearance of ArmA so the apperances of new units will flourish. For specops we have many types, with different mission definations and methods of operation. This group works associated with navy and operates in land-sea-air all types of missions, kinda like US Navy Seals.

    Well sorry for stating the problem wrong. Its not that I cant choose, I can choose but it looks spoiled on the current face model. It is as if the face model and texture are compatible. The nose and mouth appears at where ears should be etc... I reckon the textures dont use original face model but how will I make the game use the required model in the player char. editting screen?

    Llauma your heads are really incredible. I wish if you could make some iranian-arabic faces too with the quality of these ones. Although I admire the screens I couldnt admire the faces in game much actualy, I donwloaded facestex, put it into addons, but I cant choose any of them as my character's face which I desire mainly. I can use them in GROM or in used addons but not as my char. face. How can I do that? Also to summarize, what addons currently use Facestex as of now? Best regards, thanks for your time

    Hi again. As I am still new and catching up on OFP and FFUR from which I hold basis and fire addons from it, I sometimes have difficulty as FFUR already has it, etc.. So I want to know which addons does FFUR2006 already has in it. I couldnt find it in the readme, nor was I able to search through 200some pages. So if anyone can help I am most thankfull.     I dont know Basra map but since Basra is seaside and deserty it wont fit for Chechnya. You need a mountaineous terrain with high peaks, steep curves, narrow passages etc... Also the forests and vegetation is different, cold climate type.

First of all let me express my thanks for making OFP more playable, enjoyable and valuable for us, without you, without all these efforts this game would have hit the dustbin long time ago compared to taday's standarts. I have a request as I wrote in the topic. I sometimes for an almost long time part from computer and OFP due to work and other things, when I get back I scan the sites and mass-download anything new, some other people might be in the same situation like me. As this downloading takes time, after its finished I begin sorting them out (i.e. weapon addon, infantry addon, vehicle addon, aircraft addon, etc...). However during this process if the filename of the .zip or .exe or .rar does not mean anything and if theres no readme in the archive, this becomes painfull as you have to revisit the site, scroll all addons (imagine that in ofp.info), takes too much time. So my request is make some readme or if not, and better yet for fastest categorization or recognition: make the filename refers to the inculuded addons.     Now seriously as everyone here also noticed the quality of this contest has been getting worse each year, one thinks theres such an agenda like sanctuary wrote. This year in semi-finals I thought maybe Poland would make the finals coz it was all in all a decent song a decent show a flavorous mix of music styles its clear they gave great effort to it. But they didnt get to finals instead all riff-raff went.

    When they refer to .50 cal they refer to M33 Ball round. They are not referring to SLAP or API-T rounds. Mi-24 cockpit can stop Ball round but its impossible for it to stop SLAP round. Of course theres no ammo type in the game so we refer as we are firing M33 Ball rounds. Anyway I cleared the ambiguity on Ka-52. The glass breaking effect is general damaging effect of the chopper. So even if I fire 15 rounds at the tail, the windshield will shatter. I thank you for your answers on how to make glasses breakable, unbreakable, will try it. However another problem with FFUR which I think should be fixed is there. The M113 gunner, who sits wide open turned out without any glass or anything around it "Cannot Be" Sniped or Hit. I have fired him loads of bullets from every type of russian weapon but he cannot be killed while in gunner position. How can that be? Well more likely That Cant Be!

    Thunderbird thank you for the answers. However I got into another problem while trying to change a few unit properties, I would really be glad if you can help me out. I want to helo pilots to be able to be sniped. With most helos this works ok (including AH-1W and AH-64D) but Russian Mi-24 and Ka-52 cockpit glasses dont break. Well in your config Ka-52 has 150 armor and Mi-24 has 100 armor. However after 15 shots from M82 Sniper the Ka-52 glass shatters and 30 shots the cocpit glass completely breaks and at 35 shots the pilots eject from the helo. After the glass is broken I still cant snipe them. For Mi-24 you would think the glass would break a lot earlier but it never happens. Mi-24 glass dont even dent even after 40 shots. For Ka-52 lowering or raising the armor value also makes the glass do down earlier or later, however this also modifies all helo vulnerability so I dont want it. Changing the armorglass value dont seem to work either. No matter what value I set armor glass it still breaks up according to armor value. And it is strange how Ka-52 glass breaks and Mi-24 having lower armor, never breaks. I came up with a logical explanation (I dont know if its true or not), both helos cockpit glass parts are defined (in somewhere that I couldnt find) to act as one with the platform however Mi-24 glass dont have breaking textures. Other Helos (Apache, ...) I think has some kind of "pass through" effect in their glasses, or they dont have cockpit glass in their models at all. So put it short, how can one define a part of a model (glass, etc...) act uniquely in terms of bullet passage.

    I dont know about western med. but in eastern med. - agean you will not find buildings like those, instead you will find flat rooftops (no terracota) and %95 of the buildings are pure white colored. More than half of them have sun panels and a water depot on the terrace and of course satellite dishes. The roads are also narrow, just a few main roads are wide, other than that houses are seperated by narrow pathways of dirt, cobblestone, etc...
  15. How can I make a glass of a platform take a few shots then brake although the platform on other places has durable armor. I want to snipe helo pilots. I tried (in FFUR 2006) with western helos and I can snipe all of their pilots (those models dont seem to have a glass around their cockpits). With eastern helos, I can snipe Mi-17 Hip. I cannot even dent Mi-24 Hind glass, and Ka-52 Alligator glass breaks after 30-35 shots with M82 .50cal sniper rifle. I want to lower ther 30-35 to just 3-5 or 1-2. I fiddle around config.cpp, aside from armor values which effect all platform in general, there are armor.... values, armorglass among them. However changing values in armorglass command dont seem to effect the platform. The glass still go down after 30-35 shots. I imagined there would be another entity -Ka52 Alligator Cockpit Glass- but I couldnt find such a thing. Can anyone help me?

    XSparky's statements are very hearty. It is even nicer to hear these from a greek who proves what we have written about this so called hate - rivalry issue. Now everyone must have seen that both turkish people and both greek people do not hate each other, indeed they want to remain friends and good neighbors. However I want to write one thing I dont believe or know the same way as he does (I respect his belief in the matter of course, this I am writing is just to stress out our point of view in the matter, everyone is free to believe or not believe anything); EOKA did kill turkish citizens of the island, to a degree as to kill turkish officers' families. They also killed greeks who didnt back up their murderous ways. You would think a serious event must have happened for us to undergo all the trouble in 1974. No other secret plan is involved here. EOKA and its unofficial master, the dictation government (Makarios' governement) which through a coup came to power in 1963, dismembering the unity of greek-turkish Cyprus state, which was signed in 1960 in I think London Conference and according to which, turks and greeks shared a same government with equal representation of both sides. From then until 1974, it was 11 years of pain for both turks and greeks on the island. If a campaign is to be developed for Cyprus during or before 1974, forget about Turks vs. Greeks, the answer is UN vs. Makarios' dictation and its armed forces. It could very well be implemented and would really hit the spot. If such an act was made just after 1963, there would not have been any need for 1974.

    Indeed in the config.cpp it is seen that these helos have armor values. Hokum=150, Hind=100, Hip=50. However Hokum has extra lines defining which part has what armor ratio, lets see: armorGlass=0.5. So in the glass Hokum has 75 armor maybe. So if these things are not mock up, the game has an armor calculation effect.

    One thing I noted about FFUR. With a sniper rifle (M82) I am able to take out pilots of Mi-18 however I cannot take ot Mi-24 pilots. I guess some kind of armor is implemented there but this is .50 cal we are firing, after 30 shots the glass is still not broken. Ka-52 glass also resists but it goes down after some shots. Any way to fix it (manually)?

    As I checked, NIMs Dynamic Skies are not included, it can be added to FFUR, coz in the editor, after I add the file of NIM's mod the options under gamelogic become available. Other than that nothing serious comes to mind. Oh and theres the transparent water addon.

    I was lucky. Although, only 2.6 GHz and 256 MB RAM and GFTi4400, it doesnt lag and gets average 40-50 fps in High terrain setting, with all dxdll, ffur2006 + island pack hi res. I wonder if choosing dual 32bit RDRAM (the best of its kind before RAMBUS went out of the scene) was actualy a good idea after all (at least for now).

    AgentFox there may be no armor value asssigned that ok. We assign a certain constant to each unit. Thatll be their armor value.

    As I am new to this game I would like to gather your ideas about as of late what is the best weapons pack realesed in terms of realism as well as the looks? By realism I mean several things like; ballistic realism (the implemantation of muzzle velocities, bullet weights, KE at target range, different ammo for same weapons, i.e. Ball, AP, SLAP, tracers, etc...), weight effects, ability to supported fire for supported weps, etc.... Before I began playing this game I was playing Fallout2 and I was devising up a mod for it in which I saw it lacked: different ammunition types for guns with all different ballistic effects in terms of armor piercing, bullet KE, bullet expansion, etc... I went into data gathering so deeply that the list got huge, but before I ever implemented that data for the game in a mod and release it, I got bored of the game so that data basically sits there in my comp idly. I would like to know if in this game realistic issues written above are implemented already (either official or in some weapon mods, and to what degree)? Also as I am new I am just grabbing the basic aspects of modding the game, where can I access the data of weapons? Data about their ballstics, charactersitics, etc... One more question, what is the most detailed M4 SOPMOD mod which nicely implemets various kits? Thank you for your time and best wishes of success.

    We dont hate greeks, and I am sure sensible greeks dont hate us. Besides we are talking about ideal world peace, then hating another nation whatever the reason is lies in contrast to the very idea. Its really interesting, theres a common guessing in the world about greeks and turks hate each other. Theres no hate, at least I speak for our side.

    Anythings possible, but before that I think certain things must be eyed; Turkiye and Greece are members of NATO both. And all of us here though we are unofficial here are more or less on the mod of "own" country representation. IMHO we should at least remember our ties to the alliance(s) and proper relations - behaviours - doctrines of our respective countries. I have read several posts by some users - even moderators - about Greece vs. Turkiye. How a certain side would beat other side, etc... Of course making such missions is possible, noone is setting any boundries to noone. Its everyones own free will, but the proper way would be as I described on the above, again in my H.O. My best regards, and a desire for peace in everyone's own homelands and peace in whole world. Salutations from Turkiye, Istanbul.
