Hello,
Background:~ There are a few of us that used to play on a LAN quite regular (a mix of co-op play, CTP and DM), but due to work have all now been sent to the 4 corners so have decided with the upcoming release (UK) we would wait and start Internet gaming with ArmA. I have done plenty of searching but to be honest not any wiser, with what we need to do/get in place I seem to have been nobbled with trying to organise manage this.
1. Is it necessary to find a clan/game server site, we are wanting to control access to the matches etc (most of us have 2Mb/256kb lines so would local hosting cause bother for 8-10 players).
2. If we go that way there is generally 8 of us, when we get our game together and start to play other clans/teams do we need to be able to host all players on that server so needing 16-20 slots.
3. We have been trying the demo version and not managed to get the built in VoIP working (necessary now as on a LAN we just wispered or shouted our way through), so have had a look at teamspeak, some of the clan/game servers seem to include this in the packages, is the more reliable way to go.
Thanks in advance, please feel free to PM if you think that it would be easier.
