Ok finally got german ArmA (thanks buyarma.com!, patched and translated it to english (thanks 6th!. Ok so I go to the target practise mission. Default mouse settings are way too choppy so I move the mouse dead zone to minimum and it's "ok" (not perfect though). Rifle - ok, passed it. Then SAW, passed it too. Then comes the grenade launcher lane. I familiriaze myself (shoot few targets down) and when the qualifying starts, I get 'failed' all the time despite having shots left and having only missed only pair. The goal is to get 3 out of 6 pairs and you have 6 grenades so in theory you get to miss half of your grenades. I've never seen all 6 pairs to appear before getting the failed text despite having shots left and not taking too much time with each pair. Sometimes I don't see targets appear in a long time, then maybe 1 or 2 and boom, failed text comes to screen. I've gotten max 4 (2 out of 3 pairs) before failed text. It seems like the familirization and qualifying sessions are somehow bugged/mixed. I've tried this like 20 times and while not being a great shooter, I don't even get the chance to make it. Most of the time I fail with shots left! Now what am I missing here? Some trick to complete this? Is there some sort of sequence you have to shoot the pairs (I'vent seen more than 1 pair up at the same time except during familirization). Also what do you need to complete to get to the sniper training? Expert in all other weapons or something?

Ummm it doesn't work that way. AMD64 X2 3800+ dualcore processor has two cores running at 1.8Ghz each. AMD64 3700+ singlecore processor (earlier 954 socket model) has 1 core at 2.0Ghz Yet thanks to the new socket, extra cache etc. even the single core of X2 processor is faster than the single core of a AMD64 3700+ Im afraid you are a little off there. If you mean 939 the 3700+ clocks in at 2.2GHz. At socket 754 (This is the EXACT cpu I have btw) it clocks in at 2.4GHz, and my ArmA runs sweetly. Upgrading to an E6600 soon hopefully. Ah, I had the numbers wrong. I used to have s753 AMD64 3700+ and somehow I had the feeling it was 2.0Ghz. Anyway, the main point remains. AMD64 X2 4600+ doesn't have two "2300+" cores in it, they are both 2.2Ghz (from the top of my head). EDIT: don't wait for AMD's new K8L, from what I've read it's not an improvement over Intel's C2D, quite the opposite in fact especially in heat & noise generation.

Shooting training course, bug or not?
Hammer Schultz replied to Hammer Schultz's topic in ARMA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Completed all others, including sniper but the grenade launcher training seems f'ed up somehow. Oh well, it's not like you get anything extra for that. -

Yeah I was talking about s754 vs. s939, a single core of X2 3800+ is atleast as fast as the core on X1 3700+ despite having lower mhz.

Ahem, you should note that helicopter CONTROLS and helicopter PHYSICS are not the same thing.

Can you confirm that you have shipped all copies today? I'm waiting for my normal version to Finland. Please update the progress report at your site's forum.

X800 is not a big improvement over 7300, in fact it could be even worse.

EDIT: apparently not allowed

It has been already answered in few other threads. Yes it does support widescreen... I didn't ask whether it supports widescreens or not. I know it supports widescreen (both 16:10 and 16:9) but I haven't seen the resolutions.
-
I still haven't received answer to my question; what 16:9 resolutions are supported by ArmA?
-
A bit OT...But this Harrier showed it's vertical landing capabilities the hard way... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f13415d0f6

CQB stands for...?

Come on, as long as those mainstream reviewers give Arma ~75 while giving 90+ to every Doom-clone or some crappy RTS-game, I'm happy. It just shows that they are not the target audience. I'll start worrying the moment some l33t d00dzon FPS/RTS fan gives this game 90+.

To the people who are playing ArmA, how is it?
Hammer Schultz replied to evilnate's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Sorry for being repetetive but I have to ask again, could someone playing the game please tell me if the game supports 16:9 resolutions (instead of the usual 16:10 resolutions used in wide-screen TFTs) and if yes, which ones? I'm planning to play this on Sony W2000 40" LCD so I gotta know. -
Hmmm...Am I the only one who sees those as positives??

Tried searching for this but there's no post search, it lists only threads where the search string is mentioned. So, which 16:9 modes (if any) are supported by ArmA? -
Attack choppers are exteremely powerful weapon systems so I hope controlling them is made as realistic as possible because otherwise it's BF2 all again with all the n00bs blasting tanks away at will. Realism is why I ordered 2 pieces of this game.
-
Can someone list me all the 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions available (along with the hz's)? I'm planning to play this on 40" Sony full-HD (1080p) LCD-tv and I'm wondering what resolutions are available for it.

Ordered 2x ArmA from http://www.bontonland.cz, total price including shipping to Finland ~90€. Can any czech member of this forum enlighten what is the expected delivery time, do they have ArmA in stock and how fast do they ship to czech republic usually? That should give me some rough estimate when to expect delivery.

If you're a tank commander, would you stick you head out to fire your 12.7mm MG when the helicopter most likely carries a frigging minigun?? 2 second burst in your general direction and you would be swiss cheese.
