  1. Yes, the 16 Air Assault Brigade is planning on playing the game in a realistic manner. Edited in more information: We are a realistically organised group, hoping to move into Armed Assault (from Americas Army) when it comes out in the near future. There are several ex and current serving members of the group from military units all over the world, as well as law enforcement experience from members (SWAT team/Policemen from the US mainly.) See www.16AA.com for more information:

Idea Games NOT publishing Armed Assault/

My view is as follows - as long as the game gets out there, I don't really care. From a business pov there are two ways they can look at it - if they continue with this current fan base they are going to have a community of people who want to play the game as they have built it - not exploit it as the current crop of script-kiddies/BF2 gamers do (rather broad generalisation, but you know what I mean.) - I hope to see large groups of very serious players playing long operations/exercises (if they give us the ability to save half way through a mp mission, that would be awesome) in a realistic way. My group, the 16AA (www.16AA.com) will be playing in a realistic manner, doing full exercises over night, but I don't want us to be the exception. Lastly, I would really *really* like to see this game digitally available (say from direct2drive or some such) so it is available to everyone when they want it!
  3. What does it mean? Â It means "To Be Announced" - However, I think there is another thread in these forums which lead us to believe that there is some sort of multi-developer publishing deal going off soon. I just hope I can dload the game - makes things much easier!
  4. Perhaps it means detailed draw distance up to 2km - of course, you must understand, I'm just speculating.

    Hope Realism is a factor

It's the way we used to play Joint Ops CO-OP - it makes things a lot lot more tense as you're moving along.

    Hope Realism is a factor

Gents, I currently play Americas Army at the moment, to me it is the most realistic infantry based game out there. There are drawbacks, as have been pointed out. Too small maps, lack of cohesion between public players, etc. However, these small pieces are overcome with a bit of teamwork and tactics practiced over and over. The team I'm in practices teamwork tactics to better our game enjoyment - tactics that are designed to work in all FPS type games. I am looking forward to Armed Assault (ArA) due to the huge areas that play can take place in. Things I am feeling a little wary of are the huge number of vehicles (ala the BattleField series) because of the unrealistic game play that they tend to generate. My team and I will be playing ArA with permadeath on - and will take things slowly as a real unit would. Overall, the 16AA and I are very much awaiting ArAs release with baited breath, I hope it lives up to our (and everyone elses) expectations! Regards, Paul Hutson www.16AA.com
