Is this the flashing shadow thingy?

(Shadows Disabled?) Is this some sort of loophole?
  2. Hy all, I have a GeForce2 MX and I got these weird tranparent shadows when I set the game to 16bit whether T&L is on or not. My computer is not so fast (PIII 450) and if I enable 32bit I have a very big drop on fps. I went to that Avon Lady's site and it says that GeForces are no capable of handling 16 bit images. How is that so? Because I play all of my games on 16 bit and they run ok. The only one I had problems with was OFP. I'm not criticizing just pointing at my findings. Anyway, is there any sort of tweaking that allows for these shadows to become "normal" again, besides updating my processor (no money for that) and turning on 32bit? I thank you for your patience for reading this. And for any responses. Thanks. The pictures bellow show the same shots at 16bit (semi-transparent-looking shadows. Is that what they call flashing shadows?)...and 32bit (normal shadows). http://www.henriquecsouza.hpg.ig.com.br/hobbies....m1.jpeg http://www.henriquecsouza.hpg.ig.com.br/hobbies....m2.jpeg http://www.henriquecsouza.hpg.ig.com.br/hobbies....m3.jpeg http://www.henriquecsouza.hpg.ig.com.br/hobbies....m4.jpeg Hotlinked pics must not be over 100kb, when saved your pics show a filesize of 2.5mb-Placebo.

Well, hope I'll be able to upgrade my computer to something a little better now at the end of the year. Usually we are able to get some pretty good deals on those Atlon Xp....and they are pretty good too. That way I'll be able to use 32bit with no considerable drop on the fps. Thakns guys. But anyway, if some of you find out some tweaking way to get those shadows to appear right under 16bit, don't be shy...let yourselves be heard. I'll be all ears...

Is this the flashing shadow thingy?

Hello people, I am using the latest Detonator drivers downloaded from NVidia. They are 40.72. I had version 23 something, but I had the same problem with shadows. I am using 1024X768 and all the settings set to default on the NVidia configurator. I'll try playing with those sliders...hope I get somewhere. So, nobody has ever had anything like this before?

    Tow (in)accuracy?

Hello people? I am pretty new to OFP and for the short time I've played this game I've really come to appreciate it, but I've got a few little question about the TOW. When I was playing with any of the versions before 1.46 I could very easily hit tanks with the Tow even when flying pretty fast. However, now with version 1.46 installed it's trully hard to hit them while flying any faster than 100kph. If I stop the chopper and hover I can hit them from any distance with pinpoint accuracy, but while flying fast the tows fall just short ahead of my target. I'd like to point that I am not getting any erratic flying behavior of these weapons, they simply seem more inacurrate than before. After flying with the Apache I have noticed the same thing happening to its missiles. I don't remember their names. I've been reading about these fade things, but I don't have a pirated copy and moreover I don't think it could be it because of the crappy accuracy of machine guns...and my machine guns are still pretty deadly...and accurate to say so. I also heard some people saying that by using that unlimited- savings feature by pressing SHIFT+Minus and typing "Savegame" could trigger this fade thingy...is that so? Because I have used it a few times to pass some of the american missions in the campaign...haven't given a go on the soviet Red Hammer yet. Anyway, I appreciate any help on these topics...thanks

    Lol try this yourself

Now this is something even more amusing not to say evelish...have no idea if that word exists... Anyway...go to that highest mountain in Kolgujev I think it's 680 some meters high...then place a little Jeep or any other light vehicle. Place a few satchel charges right on its rear fender move away and blow the little guinea pig up in the air. You can get the little thing flying for hundreds of meters...I'd say some 600 meters easily... Â You can be sitting in the vehicle too...for a nice one way trip. Â

I've found the rear of the tanks much weaker that the front, for instance. (In real life the armour distribution goes the same way, right?) A single whatever missile into the rear of a T-72...and a few seconds later it turns into a big pile of burned down junk.

    Tow (in)accuracy?

Thanks Dayglow....it makes sense...I was just trying some other missions on the editor using the Apache and for what it seems is that the hellfire suffer from the same fall-short-ahead-of-the-target prob. The same goes for the one in the Hind. Well, I guess I'll have to learn to fly the choppers in OFP then. I also love to play EECH and in that game we can hide behind a hill pop up..sweep the radar once, mark the targets and fire on LOAL mode. I almost always get a kill. Something else while fighting T-80's in that game is mark the target pop up and fire a laser guided hellfire...that's a 100% guaranted kill One thing I'd like to see implemented in OFP is a higher visibility setting, so we could fire at tanks and such from longer distances reducing the risk of being fired back upon. Well, gotta get used to it...that's for sure. Thanks guys.

Thanks Chronicles... It's good to hear that. I'll keep trying though. This game rocks all the way...

I'll keep trying and see what I can find out. But what would "Bollocks" mean? I did a quick search on the net and I've come up with a bunch of pono sites!!! Now what would that mean?
