they need a bit of dispersion to, these guns are supposed to be more a shotgun blast. -
I was not meaning maximum range the bullet travels, but max effective range. To the MOA thing, its not target shooting its an assault rifle you arnt going to be taking 1000yard shots let alone worry about 1/2 inch :P

So otherwise 4 inches every 100yards then. I'm not aware theres any evidence of any Iraq tanks using thermal sights, most did not even have range finders. They did not have quality ammo, they had early generation APFSDS rounds with steel penetrators. Russian tanks had thicker armor as well as composite and reactive armor. Majority of their tanks were chinese type-69s. Its range to hit a man sized target would also be increased by 20-60%, i would consider that pretty big. 20-60% improvement is not too much to you? Iraq was poorly trained and equiped, their equipment was not only old but crippled export models, their war with Iran did not leave them more prepared but expended and heavily in debt. Iraqi tanks are just not representive of Russian ones, they did not have quality ammunition,armor or sights.

Being warmongers by nature however does not mean it makes a good soldier, just means males are more aggressive and hotheaded, in some roles like sniping women have been found to be better than men for the role.

I dunno i can fly very fast sideways in the right in blackshark, all you need to do to avoid rotor blades is avoid doing silly high G moves. Its only over 250kmh you need to start being careful.

Its not really capable of much faster rate, desending faster than that at low foward speed you can enter a vortex ring, common to all helicopters tho a bit more dangerous for the ospreys layout which can make it roll over. -

Well only the CH-53e fills any roll not already covered by other units, but then theres no heavy lift AC for any side in arma2 at the moment. Ild rather see new forces like the Brits and the VDV, -

game would not be so fun if it was one side with tanks,planes and helicopters vs guys with aks and pipe bombs. -
You claimed fast rope was not a slow method, it is was Fredef explained, its only faster than abseiling its still much slower and thus more dangerous than a traditional insertion. In Somalia the first casualty was top a fast roping accident, not to mention the 2 blackhawks they lost trying to rope people down.

They don't use it in 99.9% of cases, its a slow and dangerous method of insertion.

Firefights as they are now is not entertaining gameplay, everyone shooting like snipers is hardly realism, theres just no difficulty in shooting.

ea but shooter in games is only a point and click affair, the only alternative is to add huge amounts of weapon sway but that only results in more awkward gameplay than now. As it is everyone shooting like snipers in ofp/arma does not result in realistic fire fights.

Just sad that games,movies even tv shows have to be Americanized to actually sell in the US, TV shows like The Office Life on mars etc Would be nice to get a Euro or Brit faction for once :)

One Question I don't understand about Bipods...

bipods are not that limiting, they just rest on the ground not anchor into it. Using deployed bipods, or things like resting weapons on objects if included arnt the sort of things that should require extra keypresses to use, should be automatic natural response. -
Control of characters always been the worst aspect of ofp/arma compared to other games, i would not only like to see more movement freedoms while performing actions or using AT/binos but also all actions being quicker/smoother, some things need to be faster than rl to account for the limited range of movement and controls you have, like crouch to standing etc.

CQB isn't bf2, if you wanted bf2 players you instead would focus on improving the response and feel of the infantry movement, and the smoothness of aiming/shooting. Thats what bf2 did better than arma. -
Would hardly think a vehicle interior is alot of resources, every vehicle with windows already has its interior modeled.

You wouldn't need animations for every vehicle just a few for each type, like how reloading animations work, just a few hand movements thats close enough.

How Much Realism are you Content With?

Whats needed is basic weapon system simulation of vehicles tank/aircraft/atgm etc the tab lock fire crap is both unrealistic and massively unbalanced, simulating weapons systems even at a basic level would sort this. Play a flight sim like lock on,blackshark, the weapon systems are not actually that complex to operate, its also similar function to what Russian ground vehicles use like bmp3. -
