Also lock on is another flight sim that is suppose to be comeing out and is very well anticipated by the flight sim community. Oh it is a russian based flight sim. If you go to their site you will see people are posting on a foroum for months for a game not even close to being done. So what do you want? You want people to complain and act like children? Well thats fine with me. Just DON'T you start complaining about it after this post.

    Weapons & trains

Not sure if anything was said about this in the past but wouldn't FP be good if it had trains that you could get into and drive? And have missions were you gotta deliver supplies to troops in need? Altho it might put extra pressure on some systems. Also wouldn't it be good to have a knife so you could sneek up to unsusspecting soldiers and slit their throats like in Hidden & Dangerous? Or be able to wear enemy uniforms like in H&D Fight for Freedom? Or how about giving the Spetz Natz a spade to use as a close quarters weapon or being able to throw it at someone then run up to pick it up and reuse it. Someone put a link up before that went to a part of a book on Spetz Natz and when I read the spade bit I just had to smile! And in the vehical range would the BM-21 be a good choice of weapons for FP? How about with chemical rockets as well as the normal rockets? Altho I think I saw a posting about this one before. Also I was wondering if an AA missile system would be out of the question. It would be great to be flying an SU25 and suddenly a missile comes flying your way! With realistic ranges like it fires at you before you get close, but not too far range i guess. Maybe a bit longer range than the ZSU. Just a few thoughts...

    Ofp music

Last time I looked they didn't have all the music. I just looked for an extractor to extract the ogg files (the music files) then looked for a converter to convert the ogg files into mp3 format the files I got are only small. If anyone wants them go to a search engine and look for Goldwave (converter) or... actually I think I got it all from the avon page if I remember that far back. Look there. Call me sad but I listen to the music all the time when not playing the game.

Where would the su-25s land and take off?

In this case it is logical to believe that the SU25 would seem to have flown in from another Island.

    Ai in choppers

Flying a chopper is fun anyway. It will come with practice. It did not take me long to get the hang of it and not long at all to land it on desert island (more space) now I am better at landing in smaller areas. Now all I have to do is try landing the SU25.

Good times had by all when playing ofp

On the second campaign mission called "Flashpoint" when we went in to take Morton there was a loud smash, looked around to see that one of the cobra's flew into the church tower. It seemed funny looking at the smoke and hearing the rotor still powering down while the cobra was bouncing around where it had fell. The strange thing about it is when I played the same mission not long after it happened again, same place same chopper. Its like you don't need to shoot these guys down because their own failed training will do it for you I'm waiting to see if it will happens a third time.

Whose gonna stick with ofp now?

Why the hell would you ditch a great game like OFP simply because you can't make it the way YOU want it? Its a GREAT game and I'm happy with the Mission Editer. BIS made it... their not answerable to anyone.

    Localized damage?

I like the way in a tank fight you can destroy the main gun but the rest of the tank is in perfect shape. Have had 3 Abrams driving around me with no gun, now they ain't much use. Its also great how the enemy never hits you again after they damage your main gun. Just go right up to them and fire and they never shot you.

The MIG29 first flown in 1977 entered service 1983. It would be good to have TU-160 bombers (altho they entered service in 1987 but first flown in 1981), maybe have them on call to carpet bomb an area. Having the Foxbat (entered 1966) and the Flanker (1984) and Flogger (1973) Foxhound (1983) would be good too altho I guess too many air units wouldn't be wise? And how about them BM-21 Rocket Artillery trucks with normal or chemical rockets option along with the 2S3 Akatsia artillery (not sure on dates). How about AA Missile systems like the ZRK-SD Romb? (again date unsure) I have no western ideas but maybe later. Sorry for taking up so much space again and not having dates on certain units.

I saw a TV doco on this once and it was a huge fire fight - Spetnaz kicked ass though. Lots of convoy escort missions would be a must. Search and destroy missions by airborne troops in the mountains would be cool. Street to street fighting was pretty common also. Yeah they have to do this campaign.<span id='postcolor'> I saw a doc that sounds similer... the one I saw the Spetz Natz were out numbered, had to storm a building defended by alot of gaurds and it was in pitch black darkness with no support (sounds like Red Hammer). The Spetz Natz guy said the only way they could tell enemy from friend was from all the cursing that was being yelled. Missions based on real events would be ok with me.
