Ok ... my tuppence worth .... C-130 - Yes! Short landing capability, paratroop drops, good possibilities for scenario design, etc. Soviet equivalent as well please. Tactical aircraft - No! With the possible exception of the Harrier and some COIN aircraft it would not add a lot to the game and ... on a practical level ... the game engine is not up to it. Helicopters - Sure. Currently I see no game advantages to taking an OH-58 on a mission instead of an AH-1, but it adds options to scenario designers. More the merrier. Guns, etc - Sure. Again ... I doubt it would make much difference to game balance, just a different name and shape. But for the sake of accuracy in introducing other nations (A Falkland Islands campaign almost fits timeline and island scenery (add more rain and some penguins)) it would be worth it.. Civilians - Yes ... all sorts. For cut-scenes and a resistance based scenario. Basically I don't mind as long it is accurate and either 1985 specific or CLEARLY labeled as anachronistic.

Fixes to the UH-60 and the UH-60 (mg) and a few other issues
Havelock replied to a topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hmmm .... been looking into the whole Blackhawk thing. If you are going to represent one kind of BlackHawk in the 1985 based OFP, what should it be? As a basic UH-60 only the 1 or 2 M60Ds would generally be enough. The game model seems to be more of a HH-60 (which can have door mounted 0.50 calibre MG's or a MH-60 (introduced in '83 so the time line is ok). See ... www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/uh-60.htm for more info. There is an interesting photo on that page of a UH-60 with what appears to be 16 Hellfires fitted. -
For all you ever wanted (in fact rather more I'd warrant) about OH-58 weapon systems please check this link... www-acala1.ria.army.mil/LC/cs/csa/kptoc.htm#Table Enjoy

The current OH-58D Kiowa Warrior has universal pylons capable of accepting FFAR, Hellfire, Stinger and/or 0.50 caliber machine gun (see www.fas.org). However, this was a big upgrade over previous versions, and was introduced in '91. I do not have any data on the version current to 85 on hand. I seem to recall that the FFAR rockets then carried were more for target designation than a purely combat role. The Kiowa was (and still is) primarily a scout helicopter. -- Currently reading - The First World War Vol. 1 - Hew Strachan (only a couple of chapters to go .. big book) Currently listening - Is This It - The Strokes

Dodgy German outfit, I belive. (Not that dodgy and German go together .... Ich glaube) See the Avon FAQ for more details. It's not meant to be much cop. -- Currently reading - The First World War Vol. 1 - Hew Strachan Currently listening - silence ... everyone at lunch. -
Having to decided to confont the arcane world of editing I decided, like any good pupil, to follow a tutorial. Namely that of Mr Johan Gustafsson. Now in this we have a situation where a UH-60 is hovering at a hold point. As West forces pass a trigger the UH-60 comes to land and pick up the boys in green. The tutorial states that by putting the phrase "CallBlackHawk" in the Condition box of the helicopter's Hold waypoint, abd putting "CallBlackHawk=True" in the On Activation box of the Trigger then all will happen as stated. Instead the helicopter just sits there wasting fuel. Any advice? -- Currently reading - The First World War Vol. 1 - Hew Strachan Currently listening - Facts of Life - Black Box Recorder

Ahhh, cheers m'dears. That seems to do the trick. Now to add some pesky russians to do over. -- Currently reading - Same as before (it's a big book) Currently listening - the dishwasher -
I said I was missing something obvious. Indeed, the 1.30 upgrade has the Flag Pack pre-installed. As a bonus it has (on my system at least) no graphical glitches. Top Banana. Now the armies of Andorra shall make their mark on the OFP world. -- Currently reading - The First World War Vol. 1. - Hew Strachan Currently listening - The Facts of Life - Black Box Recorder

I have searched the boards. I have read the AVON faq ( ahhh ... wasn't Blakes 7 good) I have probably missed something very obvious. But whenever I try to install the Official Flagpack addon (with version 1.30) I get an incorrect-addon-file-try-downloading-this-again type error message. Which I did. From several different sites. All to the same effect. Help? -- Currently reading - The First World War Vol.1 - Hew Strachan Currently listening - Electric Waco Chair - Waco Brothers

Software Developer's Kit ... I think. Possibly Software Development Kit. or Satiates Designer's Know-how or Someone Design a Knuckleduster -- Currently reading: The First World War Vol. 1 - Hew Strachan Currently listening: William Bloke - Billy Bragg -
Following the upgrade from 1.00 to 1.20 several changes were made to the campaign (HMMVV substituted for Jeep, AH-64s for Cobras, that sort of thing). I'm would like to know if anyone is aware of anysimilar changes made with the upgrade to 1.30. A smattering of Bradleys and BRDMs would be very welcome. -- Currently reading: The First World War, Vol. 1 - Hew Strachan Currently listening: Night Lilies - Jackie Leven (and BBC World)

Hmmmm, just completed INCURSION for the first time. Tank? Helicopters? Shilkas? Missed all that. Snuck in, got codes, snuck out. (Church mice got nothing on me!) I admit that sitting 1 metre behind the officer chappie who is sat on the window ledge and wondering how one was meant to get out of here (and hiding under the table as an RPG chap came for a look-see) gave me a moments pause for thought.
