There is ... read t'Avon Lady's OFP FAQ, as advertised above.

I think I'd skip the Koguyev trip. Certainly at this time of the year. I'm up for a dash to Krk though ...
-
I was only there for a few hours, but the landscape is typical Adriatic. Dry, lots and lots of rocks, etc. Looks NOTHING like the OFP version. The real Krk is also, of course, a lot bigger. I have a road atlas of Croatia map, but it's in the car at the mo. (I have maps that stretch from Scotland to the Urals in my car ... well you never know! I drive past road signs to Vienna (Becs in Hungarian, for some reason), Zagreb and Ljubljana every morning.

Wisdom is proud he is American, Ruskie is proud he is British. Now both of you shut up ... and go to bed everyone (hey! I have a time zone disadvantage, but I think both of you need an early night)
-
Hmmm. You are (Mr Wisdom) accusing Europe of a homogeneity to a greater degree than the USA? I was born in the UK and have visited most of Europe's countries (and a few outside although I admit that I have not ventured across the pond yet) before settling in Budapest. I think you will find (have you been here?), that there are considerable differences between the nations (and even within nations).

Okay ... now we need a new set of civilian (clothing) gun-wielding characters to ride it .... oh, they must have the marksmanship of a two-week dead koala bear. The A-Team NEVER hit anyone they shot at. Thinking about it ... did they ever shoot AT anybody, or was it just the bad guys who were terrible shots?

David Armstrong sounds like a black soldier...

I do hope you don't mean me. If you mean that chap above me .... not sure. If he is complaing that there is a mismatch of radio voices to characters then he may have a point. If he is complaining about having black characters (or voices) per se ... then you are right. But I don't THINK that is what he was saying. -
Hey ... I spent a night on Krk a few months ago ... never new it'd be a model for Morton. (Love that Croat spelling .... I was driving to Trieste the next day ... only of course it was spelt Trst on the road signs. Where were they when the vowels got handed out.)

Even if there is no direct cross-over to OFP, if the same programmers are used then the experience stands them in good stead for further Add-ons or, even better, OFP2.

Why are there no missions in the Red Hammer list ?
Havelock replied to Elite Spetsnaz's topic in GENERAL
Do you mean when you first start the campaign .... or after you have completed a few missions? -

Can't say I noticed myself ... all these Americans sound the same to me! Joke, by the way. -- Currently reading - Traces - Stephen Baxter Currently listening - Some AIDS concert/show on German TV -
I presume you mean 'Black Hawk Down', not Zulu. 'Don't throw those bloody spears at me!'

My Latin's a tad rusty ... but something like: If you want peace .... prepare for war. (re: 9mm Para Bellum)

Okay ... I'm going a bit arty and leftfield for my 'Best War Movie Ever' vote, but here goes ... ... xx ... Das Boot ... xx ... Comments?

Okay, this is a (slightly hypcritical) plea to all ... forum members with a nodding acquaintance with sanity to not look in thes topic again, don't post to it and consider it dead. Or at least quarantined. Someone earlier said that this was a good example of an OFP thread, as it covered many different aspects of military topic and history. Unfortunately it then degenerated into another common theme(s) of these forums: Xenophobia, racism, anti-semetism and my-125mm-gun-is-bigger-than-your-120mm-gun-ism. Please.

Grins. To resolve British/American confusion about the above post. 1,852 km/h (European) = 1.852 km/h (British/American) As a science teacher in an international school, I am always trying to get the European kids to use a '.' where they want to use a ',', and the Brits & Yanks to use a ' ' (gap) where they want to use a ','.

Well said. I like to think that I am not at all racist ... ... well, except concerning people from the South of England. (Joke! It's a joke! Arrrgghhhh!) (Sound of body hitting floor)

Some of the forums appeared to be completely empty for a while last night. All back to normal it appears now.

Beautiful Hummer .... I hope a UN helicopter is in the pack.

Oh, I dip a toe into the Off-Topic pool from time to time ... to see what tries to bite it!

Ohhh ... it was so much better in the old days, when I used to use the green-screen monsters in the terminal room to check the latest Usenet posts (My Lord! I've just realised that was a decade ago now!). Ah .... I remember when all this was V-shaped valleys, etc. But seriously (folks) I would encourage slightly stronger moderation of these groups. Why can't we all just get on ...... -- Currently reading: The First World War Vol .1 - Hew Strachan (I think I will skip the chapter on financing the war ... too much info on the Gold Standard) Currently listening: Some rubbish on MTV
