Ground deformation is certainly something I'd like to see written into the OFP2 game engine.

First mission is certainly quite tough. The fuel station shoot out is a bloodbath. I crawled around the side of a building and picked off any bad guys I could see, just me and two guys left. Fortunately the village part isn't too hard. Pay attention to the cutscene, use grenades and (if you think you've killed everyone, but the mission won't finish) do a house to house. The level of difficulty appears about average for the rest of the Red Hammer missions.

Having a played a tad more since I posted last night ... I think the mission(s) where you are one of two people comanding a T72 are a tad tricky, maybe too much so. I don't mind long missions that end with just one man (me, hopefully) left standing. But trying to use the external tank view as a gunner (so you can see where you are going) whilst issuing keyboard commands to the driver is just TOO frustrating.

Oh, Devilchaser, do you have any idea of a release date on the follow-up(s) to Firelord?

There is, in my opinion, nothing wrong with 'useless' vehicles. Just having a different model and slightly different handling characteristics adds a little variety to a game. BRDMs have a role with real armies, so they should have a role in OFP. However ... I do agree with modelling as accurately as possible. Most BRDMs are armed. Therefore it should be the same in the game. The game model appears to be a Hungarian FUG (which, by the way, I think I saw in the company of some BTRs near Eger, Northern Hungary, a few months ago).

Hi all, can any 1 give me names of missions with...

Yes, I did that of course. But it would be nice to .... oh, sod it, I'm going to bed. -
Lord knows. Firechaser was an excellent and original piece of work. Certainly the best non-official mission I have seen (and better than most of the official ones). Ho hum.

Must admit I found this mission rather tricky. I didn't notice the AA weaponary until after I shot down both helicopters using that masterpiece of Anti-Aircraft Artillery. The Dragunov. Boy, did that take some time. And ammunition. (In fact I was looking to replace my sniper rifle ammunition when I found the Strela. A tad late. Oh well.)

Not a very helpful statement Mr Martin The mission is certainly long, but possible. It is a shame the game crashed so close to the end. Have you managed to reproduce the effect. Did you use your savegame, and if so can you retrieve it?

Lots of the Red Hammer missions feature the new guns. Unfortunately, all in the hands of the opposition so far. Those darn G36s gave me a nasty surprise, I'll tell you. -
Quite possibly Mr Espectro. Anyway, I recieved my lovely DVD-style case and shiny happiness inducing disc in the post today (1st copy of Red Hammer in Hungary?) and have been playing it almost non-stop since I got home from work (about 5 hours now, I worship at the altar of Pizza Hut). The missions are harder ... and longer! I have finished lots of the missions as the only man standing, shedding a tiny tear for my oppos. But the missions are great! Highlights so far: Sniping the pilots of two Chinooks before going 'Doh!' as I find the Strela launcher. Oh, and the Shore Bombardment in the 'Kill 4 vulcans using a toothpick' mission. Right, now to stop those nasty Americans from re-acquiring Malden. d*amn colonial(ist)s!

Just you and an RPG should be able to take out the Vulcan. It is sitting in near enougth the middle of Chapoi. I had an AT4 ... and missed. Then found some Satchel charges in the crates near the vulcan. Placed 5 (well ... why not?) of those and blew up the vulcan. And blew up my two squad mates. Ho hum. Got 3 crosses for that one.
