Yeah, I've read that... requires the game and a CD key. ---------- Post added at 05:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ---------- Yeah, pretty stupid not to have dedicated server files. We don't have the game installed on our file server. It makes it difficult to run dedicated servers.

From what I've been told, you need the 1.03 client files as well.

Ok, here's the deal. I do support for Wolf Servers. I'm not sure who put together our 1.03 patch, but something was wrong with it. People tried updating their servers with the patch that someone put together and their servers are crashing. Here's my take on it, so please tell me if I'm wrong: In order to extract the client 1.03 files, which are required for a server to work properly, you need to have ArmA 2 1.0 installed, correct? Well, the server where we store our game installations doesn't have ArmA 2 installed, so if I try running the 1.03 client patch, it errors out, telling me it's not installed, so I can't create a 1.03 install or a patch. I did extract the 1.0 files into it's own folder and then tried extracting the 1.03 files, but it didn't work. Is there a .rar or .zip file that has all of the new 1.03 client files so I can create a patch for Wolf Servers? Is there anyone else here from a GSP that has put something together?

With my system - 2.7Ghz CPU, ATI 260 OC 896MB video memory, it was laggy on default settings. Considering I can run most other games at max, it's disappointing. I am definately leaning towards not buying it. Maybe if a tweak guide comes out I can eliminate the lag, but I don't expect I'll be buying it.

I have Vista Ultimate 64. I play BF2, BF2142, a bunch of Steam games and everything runs flawlessly. I expect the same from the demo. Sorry, can't opine on the demo, as I literally had about 3 minutes to play it. Maybe tomorrow.

When launching the demo i recieve a error message

How about a seperate topic with a list of the download links for the demo? That would be nice. :) -

I can't wait. This demo will make it or break it for me, so it better be good! :) -
Can a moderator close this topic? It's gone way off from the original topic, which was never answered conclusively.

As the OP, I agree. I hate when people take my posts off topic.

It seems -windowed doesn't work on the demo... I'd really like to see some sort of confirmation from a dev saying it's been fixed. I've been burned by too many new FPS's lately...

I never played ArmA, so I decided I'd download the demo to see how I like it. I've got Vista 64 and 4 GB of memory. For those that don't know, that's a bad combination that causes a black loading screen when you start the demo and you can't do anything. The typical solution is to disable 1 GB of RAM with a Vista setting and then rebooting. This is too much for for a demo. My question is this: Has this problem been fixed with ArmA 2? I really don't want to buy a game just to find out I have to disable 25% of my RAM to play the damn thing.
