Here is an updated not final V2 of Insurgent Airfield for those who would like to test it out. Not many big changes but some that improve mission. http://files.filefront.com/Insurgent+Airfield+CO10+V2/;13905931;/fileinfo.html

Thank you for the reply and as for the jumping/lagging helicopter I would have to say it is something to do with the server, though I might be missing something required to run better in MP that is new to ArmA II. I have not been able to test the mission on a dedicated server with others so I am unable to reproduce at this time. Let me know of any other issues or something you liked about the mission.

Well I took another look at the mission and noticed I missed a few things. I adjusted them and should be all good now. I dont want to release new version until I get some more feedback or get someone to test with. Other than the few issues I found I hope the mission works out for everyone. Issues found/fixed for V2 (unreleased): 1. no skiptime trigger - added 2. spawn trigger was on repeat - now only triggers once 3. briefing.html had sections not used and messed up debrief screen. - adjusted 4. unused commands and scripts in mission folder - deleted

No Map coords showing on top/bottom
Ghost replied to froggyluv's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I can confirm this issue as well. I run 1680x1050 16:10 widescreen, which set as default when i started the game and no grid on top/bottom, unless at the pre mission briefing. -
Got a new mission available Red Strike ACE version. Coop 10 with Norrins revive script. You are a small Spetsnaz squad sent out to destroy the enemy will to fight. Objectives: 1: Kill enemy Officer 2: Destroy enemy convoy 3: Destroy enemy Harriers 4: destroy enemy com tower http://files.filefront.com/ACE+Red+Strike+CO10+V2/;13697712;/fileinfo.html Thanks to Armaholic for hosting http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5522

Thanks to Armaholic now have a download mirror through them. first post updated. @Kremator A good chunk of the AI are made using Kronzky's Urban Patrol Script. The mission should be different every time with more or less units and vehicles each play through. I made this mission using only the ACE mode addon and with that ai will become conscious again at times or slowly die. Sometimes they will field dress one another. If you know something about mission editing you have my permission to modify this mission using Group Link 3. 7 other people and myself played for around 170mins on an earlier version before beating the mission. It was a first time run but we had a blast. I thank you for your input and support.

For ArmA v1.15 users and UP. Also requires A.C.E. mod v1.01 and up. Dolores and Ortego have been taken over by the Russians. You have a 10 man squad, two SF Hummvs, AH6, UH60, and two (respawning) atvs. Destroy the com towers marked in each town and kill all the Russians in the town. Good Luck Mission uses Norrins revive script and the atvs have respawn on them. Make good use of the helos because once they are destroyed that is it. Armaholic Link ACE SF HOPELESS CO10

Requires ArmA v1.15 and A.C.E. mod v1.01 and up. You are part of a small 6 man SF team sent out to liberate Eponia. Has Norrins revive script in mission and respawn on the atvs at camp. Objectives: 1: destroy the enemy convoy enroute to the base 2: eliminate enemy threat at Eponia 3: clear the enemy base V2 out to fix some issues that popped up. Sorry for inconvenience. Armaholic link SF Deep Strike CO6 V2

@ Alex Make sure you are running V2 of the mission. V1 I broke the trigger for completing the convoy objective. Sorry about that. Also if you ambush the convoy too early some of the vehicles may turn around. The convoy's final destination though is the enemy base. Also make sure you destroy the vehicles. I hope that helps.

@ Gunja. I submitted to armaholic so eventually hopefully they will have a link too. I would try clearing all of you histories for your browser. I had the same problem but now all is good.
-
@ Gunja. Try the link again. I redid the upload so it was smaller and had readme. Link should work.

Great addon John. Few things i noticed is the front sprockets move faster than the rest of the wheels. Turret elevation is slow which i dont believe it should be that slow, i understand the turning of turret was really slow.

I have been on a couple of great very popular servers. Everything is running really well then all of a sudden everything in game goes nuts. Scores change to really long negative numbers and other things which lead to game freezing. How in the world or maybe more importantly why are these servers getting hacked? I do not see the reason for this. Do people have nothing better to do with there lives? I do not see how hacking a perfectly good game for someone is fun. If i every find someone that is hacking in general How can servers be protected from this? Do these idiots have to be connected or are they doing it externally like a normal hacker?
-
I am looking for a US clan preferably with there own server that is locked to the public. I have found a few great servers that are public and it seems that some idiots are hacking these or others just act retarded on them. I love ARMA a lot and miss playing it without any major issues. I am not all crazy about strict military protocol. I just want to hop in when i have time and play with some good people. TS or Vent would be great too since the ingame voice isnt perfect. PM me if you think your server/clan meets the above or if you have any questions.

Is there a way to remotely kick, ban people on a dedicated server when not in game? If this is not possible it should definitely be a new feature.

I was thinking about making a mission that would have at least 2 sides, One Opfor and the other Blufor. Each team would have there own base that is a safe zone from the opposing team. There would be a third team that might be the Resistance, or may be AI zombies to make things interesting. Of course there will be civilians around the town. Only vehicles available with will be each sides version of a truck with mg. Each teams objective is to capture strategic points around the town. The team will get points for capturing and holding these points and will lose points if the other team captures the point. Time limit will be in increments of 30 minutes up to unlimited. If anyone is good with scripting and would like to help make scripts to make all this possible i would be very grateful. I would really like to have zombies spawning at a certain point and moving to the different capture points randomly. It would be nice to have zombies move at different speeds and be able to infect others that they "kill". I know NEM zombies do this but they cause a lot of lag. The Crappy zombie mod has great potential but does not have all the features listed. If the zombie route will not work right now i will just have a 3rd selectable side to fight for control of the city. Please note that i am not the greatest mission maker and have very little scripting ability so any help would be great.

Thank you all for your comments. I know about the bikes that is why i have two trucks. The reason for player/veh respawn is because people come and go and dont want new players to have nothing. @ king I actually have a lot of other missions on my server. You just need to do the #missions command if your the only one or vote you or someone else admin. By default though it starts out with liberation if it restarts or anything. If i get more free time ill try to make more missions, but for now enjoy Liberation

Ok i know this has been discussed over and over but not in detail, and every topic i looked through was very clear. This is for anyone who wants to configure their dedicated servers(people renting a server, interface through a control panel). Everyone should know that the server needs a server.cfg (name not important) file inside the main ArmA directory. This file is for setting server passwords, motd(message of the day), missions to play automatically and difficulty level, and a few more options. You can find more information about this file here server.cfg. Now that may be fine for most people but what about all those other settings like tracers on/off or 3rd person? Basically all those settings you make in your settings/difficulty window ingame you can have for your server. The thing is they do not go in the server.cfg file. If you look the single player settings are located under c:.....\my documents\ArmA\ Inside the file gamename.armaprofile. You can open the file using notepad and see under the difficulties part different settings with 1 or 0 after them. 1=true/on and 0=false/off. Also in the folder you see arma.cfg and this file is used to tune your dedicated server. Info about tuning the server is here Tuning under the section "Performance Tuning Options". So to get the .armaprofile and arma.cfg file on your dedicated server put this command in the command line..... -profiles=server. Then all you do is save the command line, make sure it is selected and then start the dedicated sever. Once that happens a folder named server with subfolder users should be created in the arma directory. And the two files will be in there. Either edit them through the control panel if it lets you or download them to your computer, edit them, then upload them back to the folder and overwrite the originals. What you need to add to the arma.cfg file depends on your needs/preferences. Look at the performance tuning link. the .armaprofile file just needs this version=2; blood=2; viewDistance=2528; terrainGrid=6.250000; volumeCD=8; volumeFX=10; volumeSpeech=8; singleVoice=0; playerVoice=0; gamma=1.376447; brightness=1.221041; fovTop=0.750000; fovLeft=1.000000; uiTopLeftX=0.000000; uiTopLeftY=0.000000; uiBottomRightX=1.000000; uiBottomRightY=1.000000; sceneComplexity=500000.000000; shadingQuality=10; shadowQuality=3; soundEnableEAX=1; soundEnableHW=1; anisoFilter=0; TexQuality=2; postFX=1; useWBuffer=0; class Difficulties { class regular { class Flags { Armor=1; FriendlyTag=1; EnemyTag=0; HUD=1; HUDPerm=1; HUDWp=1; HUDWpPerm=1; AutoSpot=0; Map=1; WeaponCursor=1; AutoGuideAT=0; ClockIndicator=1; 3rdPersonView=1; Tracers=0; UltraAI=0; AutoAim=0; UnlimitedSaves=1; }; skillFriendly=0.750000; skillEnemy=0.650000; precisionFriendly=0.750000; precisionEnemy=0.650000; }; class veteran { class Flags { HUD=1; HUDWp=1; HUDWpPerm=1; WeaponCursor=1; ClockIndicator=1; 3rdPersonView=1; Tracers=0; UltraAI=0; }; skillFriendly=0.850000; skillEnemy=0.896940; precisionFriendly=0.850000; precisionEnemy=0.896940; }; }; Some of the above can be deleted but thats is basically what you need. Edit it accordingly either manually through notepad or through the singleplayer settings. Then just run the dedicated server using the new command line you used and all those settings like tracers ect will be set. Hope this helps out some of you. I was trying to figure this out with the people that host my server for a long time. If anyone has anything else to add, by all means discuss it here....

I have ran into a similar problem. Here are some of the causes. 1) Either the mission name has more than two (.) in it for example: mymission.v1.2.sara.pbo change to mymission_v_1_2.sara.pbo or some format like that. 2) or another thing i found is if your server can only support lets say 5 people and your mission is designed for 30, depending on the restrictions of your dedicated game hoster it may not like that. 3) the mission may need some addons that are not on the dedicated server.
