Yup  me too...massive flickering...moved back to 178.24 and all is well. Funny thing is that it only affected Arma...all other titles including OFP worked flawlessly...

I too have had this lockup from time to time....but not for a while now....but....I DO know it only started after 1.14. I have 2 8800GTS 640's and I have tried a bunch of different drivers but the newest ones seemed to have made it better...in that I have not got the funky colors since a clean install of the drivers. It may be buggy drivers...but I am thinking it is something in ArmA that is triggering it. I have a soundblaster audigy4 and I am thinking I need to turf it...as it may also be contributing to the crashes...but I cannot be 100% sure on that. I am going to do a fresh OS install and see if I cannot get ArmA to run a bit smoother for me.

Flickering here as well...flushing sometimes helps..but it is usually short lived. I was having the same night vision flickering...and I was about to blow a gasket about it when a mate told me he had fixed it by setting his textures to default...and badda boom badda bing...dey gone...smooth nite vision again. I also remember flickering on my 7800gt...but only after the 107 beta...at least that is what my fading memory is telling me... .

GoGamer does NOT ship to Canada....at least they would not on the original release. Not sure of their reasoning...but it may be due to customs problems etc...

I find this to be totally unacceptable for both BI and SecuRom. I solved my problem.....but I maintained from the start that is was not my %&@%&* problem...bottom line. Many others here are still suffering from this injustice and all that happens is that developers/moderators lock threads and moderators ban\reprimand people for getting angry at just plain old POOR FRIGGEN SERVICE!!!! ArmA is a pretty good game...if you can get it to run/keep it running but I am beginning to believe that BI may just be in over their heads on this one...all the while we begin to hear rumors of an expansion....great news for people who CANNOT play the existing game...that they actually paid for. This is a sad state of affairs to be sure.....shame on you BI/SecuRom.. .

Troop....I ran the game from my desktop icon without the nosplash argument and the game started up just fine. I played again for a couple of hours tonite without a hitch...I wish I could help some of you other peeps who cannot get the flippin game to run...I know I would be right PO'd. My Nvidia driver set is 6.14.10.9371...dunnno if that makes a difference or not..... .

I think I may have just gotten lucky...thats all. I am running XP Pro SP2 patched up to yesterdays patchs. I have an EVGA 7800GT video...but NOT the latest video drivers...not sure what version they are actually...2gb ram OCZ dual channel kit on a MSI NEO 4 Platinum mobo/Opti 175 and this system has never really given me any real problems...but the 108 patch fixed all that... . I honestly did not think the registry fix was going to work for me either but when the game spun up I was a happy camper. I find it qute disconcerting that BIS /SecuRom are NOT helping on this....other than saying that it is "something" on your computer that is causing this....and it is NOT of our doing..

Thanks for your post troop. Once I had the game up and running I dropped the 2 mods that I am using (modern war sound and voice_quiet) in and then setup go arma to handle my launch and logins. I logged into my farorite server and played for 2 plus hours witout a hitch. My fps were better than with the 107 beta,....thats one thing I did notice. So to answer your question....I will try to run the game from my desktop icon ...not using the -nosplash and report back. I do not use any other parameters in my setup....but in go arma I also have teamspeak overlay setup to run as well. I do not run in  windowed mode either.

Got my version working by partially following troops post...see the other 108 not working topic for my info if you want. Good luck with this one...as it seems we are on our own to solve it.... .

I have my 108 running...yes believe it or not. I do not have any "emulation software that tampers registry keys" on my system...even tho SecuRom said that is what was causing the problem. I had done a fresh install last nite (for the 3rd time) and had left the game at 105.1356. Tonite after dinner...and a good brisk walk with the dog, I sat down to slay this dragon. I opened up regedit and went to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices key and turfed all the \??\Volume keys out of the registry. I left all my lettered drive keys in there as there were no duplications...and I did NOT want to screw with Windows when I was done. I then installed the latest Windows patchs...today was patch day don't you know... and rebooted my system. I checked out the registry to see what happened on the reboot...there were a bunch of \??\Voulme keys in there again....but I just left them alone. I installed the 108 patch...again with NO errors (4th time now) and once that was done I added the -nosplash to the desktop link and with a trembling hand I double clicked the ArmA icon.......the hourglass spun......the little cd appeared.....then the boxes with the ticks appeared...and by the GODS...it started. What a bunch of cow dung...I still have no idea just WHY I had to jump thru those frikken hoops...and it looks like we may never really know why either...unless someone finds their cajones and actually fesses up to what real deal is. Good luck to all of you that cannot get the game to run....cuz I do not think there will be much help coming down the pipe... .

No problem Chris.....I just want BIS/SecuRom to acknowledge that there IS a problem and that they ARE going to work out a solution that does not involve me snipping at the guts of my registry or finding some other obscure method of making this game work...that's all...nothing more. I do not think that is too much to ask as a paying customer. I do not think the no-cd patch is the answer either...at least not yet but I'm sure hoping for a quick fix ASAP.

Chris.....I speak no nonsense...nope.....no sireee.  I was able to play this game....using a "beta" version...yes that's is correct...beta. Now if this had happened to all of us with the beta patch we would have all said...."I guess this IS a beta version and stuff happens with beta". Now the "official" patch is out and I cannot play it.....so...where is the nonsense here? I am not pointing my finger at you I am pointing it directly at BIS and /or Securom...and one of them (or a combination of both) have caused this to happen and all I (and others) seek is a solution...plain and simple...not some voodoo magic, dance in a circle while tapping your head and rubbing your belly kind of solution...but  a real solution...or at the very least an explanation as to what they think is the issue..not some generic statement accusing me of having emulation software on my system!!! Yup I am a bit angry about this...but it is not life or death with me.....I will just be out $60 and life will go on...but as I said in another post this has become a alarming trend in the PC gaming industry...hence the move to gaming consules which is stuff for a whole other rant... . Here's hoping for a quick fix...sans the dancing witch doctor....
