Yep, the GAU-8 has a Multiplier of 5 in the A10's config. That means each SINGLE bullet decreases the count by 5 instead of 1. It seems that the Reload rate/ROF in the config only works to a certain point, because when I set multiplier to 1 my "1 Second Bursts" in fact fired for 2-3 seconds or so no matter how low I set the reload rate. I dont like the multiplier setting, but I'd be singing a different tune if I played online more often no doubt. It is most likely a lag precaution. EDIT: Changing the Vulcan and ZSU's multiplier and ROF has made Anti-aircraft gunnery MUCH more fun

And if you do a barrel roll, you shout "Yeehaw!" or "Yippee!" or something. A good mission, I enjoyed it alot.

I can't rotate the helicopters it's when moving?

I played OFP awhile back again, after alot of requests for changing to the OFP flight model had been made. I wanted to see just what they meant, as I wasnt a big fan of the OFP model at the time. What I noticed is that while you indeed lose rudder authority at speed, you dont lose it in the same way. You cant turn as SHARPLY with rudder at higher speed, but you can in fact hold the rudder and proceed to turn for as long as you'd like. And in the process your heading will change along with it. In ArmA, you can sort of point your nose AT AN ANGLE for a bit via rudder, but that only goes so far. Then you'll be flying diagonally. In fact upon releasing the rudder, you'll snap back to the original heading while in OFP you would have been slowly changing heading the whole time the rudder was being used to turn. Is my stick misconfigured maybe? All I know is that in OFP and Enemy Engaged: Comanche vs Hokum there isnt that little quirk in there. -

Lordy, this topic leaves me disoriented AND dehydrated! I too would like to know about this Digg thing.

Hell, for the sake of being different I hereby declare that the sole factor that determines if I will or will not buy the expansion is the inclusion of that COWBOY HAT. Either they replace it with one of those goddamned Dr Seuss hats that were ever-so popular... 10 years ago, or I'm walking out in protest. Dont make me phone CNN! But all joking aside, I'll buy it. Hell, I bought Supreme Commander and uninstalled it months ago! Same with Company of Heroes. Hopefully the expansion will satisfy, but if not... meh. Not going to grandstand about it.

I did not notice that before Marines's post but l think you can remove the plural S . Nope, on that tank platoon mission in the campaign there is a flight of four KA50's that overfly your group. In 1.07 you could easily take out 2 of the 4 by firing your Commander's .50 cal into their bellies as they flew over the pass, and alot of the time the OTHER two would just fly away as fast as they could. But at times they'd come back and throw in a lil' haymaker via a Vikhr, and a tragedy ensued Its entirely possible you see more KA50's in the course of the campaign, I purposefully avoided the "Long Wolf" missions. I read a reference to FOUR airports/landing areas that are on Sahrani, though I've only found two myself. Grass/rough fields would have been more suitable for a Su25 (or good lord, a Su39), but it was not to be! EDIT: Btw, you really SHOULD check out the ACU troops in Cameron's sig. I just got them today myself!

This 10 year USN sailor heartily agrees. I would love to see mixed infantry moving in with a Challenger side by side with Bradley support in game. Agreed 100%. Though it really strikes me as a concept that is best dealt with through mods But oh well, wishing never hurt :P

I drive in water just fine. I always end up dying and drowning within my metal coffin, but what would you expect from a non-amphibious vehicle?

Does anyone know how DamageResistance works in a unit's config? I imagine that the number displayed simply chops off whatever amount from a unit's damage number, but testing has proven that isnt the case.

The first time I tried this in 1.06, I had the same result. I went and swept a kilometer or so, and eventually gave up and used the cheat. The SECOND time, however, I thought I was going to end up the same way. But then an AI soldier finished off a BRDM that was someplace and the mission went on to the final segment. Its funny, because the mission has been changed alot since the old version. The old version originally wouldnt finish for me either, but it worked fine eventually, and now it doesnt again

Yeah, I can see what you mean. And a mod for that WOULD be alot of fun My main problem with the campaign can be summarized by the one little Text intro you get after a mission. It tells you that the unit DID have a reporter attached, and she died during the SLA attack. Now, I dont think most players with the US version know who the hell Marian Quandt is, and even less know how hilariously grotesque her bodytype gets if you try and mod it in any way! For all intents and purposes, she was a story at the end of the newspaper. Not even the obituaries. Hell, she was stuck in the middle of the Classifieds. I dont just want to say "OFP rox ArmA sux" because I dont believe that at all. But the OFP campaign at least played on some human elements (IE guys being killed sucks ass, especially when you dont know if you're even in a war, etc.). And once more, that can be summarized by the inclusion of the bonus mission in OFP where you drive around and meet the other Vets for a drink at a local pub. If you tried that with ArmA, you'd be left wondering "The hell is this guy? Think I may have teamswitched to him at one point..." I havent delved into it at all, and I really should do so. But are those News reports still in the US version? Has anyone noticed? I HAVE noticed that the little "Intermissioins" are misnamed to stuff ending with .PBO when you review the campaign mission list. Does anyone have any idea?

From what I've seen in videos, ArmA is rather lenient in regards to your helicopter not exploding catastrophically due to a Strela! Though IMO, it is indeed annoying that the Heavy machineguns can engage you from 1500 meters away in an aircraft. Now a Shilka is a different thing altogether, but an M2 or DSHK would have a PRETTY difficult time hitting a chopper or even TRACKING it from that long a distance. And I really like the Abrams as is now. Being able to decrease the cannon elevation to -8 degrees means that you'll be in a better position to avoid being shot in the first place. And in the instance a T72 DOES hit you, you will be able to withdraw. A T72 doesnt have the fortune to have either of these traits :P

Dude, I agree 100%. I really REALLY wish they had left the News Reports as well. The new ending was really a downer for me I mean I guess it can be argued that the narrator simply read or heard reports that the SLA guys were in RACs uniforms, and the reader can deduct that he was confused. But if a player who hasnt seen the other endings is able to deduct that kind of message, then they truely are a greater man than I!

I may be confused, but I do believe I read past accounts saying that the Low Fire Rate mode was disabled at some point in the A10's lifespan.
