360 Controller Profile Questions
Gremling replied to WaywardWayfarer's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
Left bumper controls decent (lowers throttle) and right bumper controls accent (increases throttle). You might have to hold them in for a second or two before they take effect. Oh, and a little tip: Don't increase your throttle too fast or your helicopter will become seriously unstable and probably tilt to the right and you'll die. -
SWM SWITZERLAND MOD RELEASED !!!
Gremling replied to DarkGiver's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
It's an amazing mod. Thank you SWM -
The first 20 or so pages had funny and original stories related of things that you did or observed, but the last pages that I've read are just old links and images, completely unrelated to yourself. It makes me sad. Help a sad forumite, post something original.

He told me he'd release it soon too, GranQ. At 6AM. -
International Sahrani Force
Gremling replied to freddern's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I don't know about that. As an extreme example, in WW2 the first British commando units were officially called "SS" (for "Special Service")! You can imagine how "popular" that title was among the men! Insignia of "signals troop SS Brigade" Ok, derail over, back to fantasy UN/NATO stuff... The American Secret Service is still called Secret Service. -

International Sahrani Force
Gremling replied to freddern's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Redid the second one after I took a peek at the KOFOR logo. Still a large image. As for the country flags and such, if you make them into a neat little trapes like so: Wiki Commons link After the country flag, they'd probably fit in nice around the branches or between the branches and the country outline. -
International Sahrani Force
Gremling replied to freddern's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Logo The NATO logo didn't work so well when it was added behind the map, so I moved it down so it's easier to see. And it kinda binds the branches together. Adding meaning :P Can't have peace without NATO. -
International Sahrani Force
Gremling replied to freddern's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Since SAFOR seems to be the top-pick, I threw together a logo. It uses the map of Sahrani as the main focus point. And then has SAFOR written on the bottom. I was thinking of adding some sort of motto like "Together We Will Unite Sahrani" or something along those lines. Here's the logo: Logo (Not sure of the image standard so I linked it) Please excuse the black border, it was necessary to get the SAFOR text align with the circle. Forgot to edit it out ;P -
The ArmA/OFP community never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the good work DieAngel. It looks beautiful!

"So, what's the most unusual military vehicle you can think of? Maybe the Japanese airplane-launching submarine of WW2? Or perhaps the Soviet attempts to build a flying tank? Or perhaps the 1000 ton rolling fortress the Germans tried to build in WW2? All quite odd, I agree, but barely made it past the drawing boards. For us, the oddest is a scooter armed with a 75mm cannon. After World War II, there was little money for defense spending while the nations of Europe rebuilt their industry and society. When there was some cash to spend, one had to be creative to stretch it as far as possible. The French probably accomplished the most astounding example of that with the ACMA Troupes Aeról Portées Mle. 56. Deployed with their airborne forces, this was essentially a militarized Vespa scooter outfitted with a 75mm recoilless rifle. Five parachutes would carry the two-man gun crew, weapon, ammunition, and two scooters safely to earth, and the men would load the weapon on one scooter and the ammo on the other, then ride away. More impressively, the recoilless rifle could be fired effectively on the move by the best of the gun crews. Total cost? About $500 for the scooter and the recoilless rifle was war surplus. Were they successful military machines? Well, the French Army deployed about 800 armed scooters in wars conducted in both Algeria and Indochina." "Apparently, recoil was not a problem whatsoever, and this little scooter could (and did) wreak serious havoc."

I loved playing around with the UN guys from OFP. Much appreciated that you're bringing this addon into the 21st century.

RAH-66 Comanche: Ever since NovaLogic's Comanche simulator I've been a huge fan of this helicopter. I know that the project was shut down, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a sleek aircraft with beautiful lines. Is there any possibility to see one in ARMA, either as a User Mod or as a BI implemented feature? Edit: Ech.
