And this VBS1 convertion is only a side project of the team, we have some other stuff too.
-
Relax people... There should be nothing wrong converting stuff from other "games" to OFP, and its not for download or anything.
-
Yes, these are units we have converted to OFP, expect more screenshots soon... But we dont know if it is legal and stuff, so this will only be for show for now... And not going public without BIS' permission...

Well, some of you might not know what these are, but they have been working for few days now.

ALPHA BLACK ONE Alpha Black One is a productions team to the very popular military first person shooter game Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. This is an update of the original Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, developed by Bohemia Interactive and Codemasters published. Alpha Black One consists of very fine individuals working as a team to bring you quality and fun addons for OPF:R that the community will enjoy and have a great time with. We seek to create a level of uniqueness and detail of quality and realism to all our addons and productions much like that of other well known OFP figures (you know who you are). Examples of work: New Units New island Enjoy!

Just like the old one  : The farmer asked a police officer - What would you do if i called you a moron? - I would cuff you and bring you in, the officer answered. The farmer then wondered - What would you do then, if i THOUGHT you were a moron?  - Well, i can not punish you for what you think. The farmer smiled a wide smile before saying - then i really THINK you are a moron. lol

You people in the ofp community are going to see some nice things soon...

"Scratches: This step is very important! I create special layer containing scratch pattern in order to improve texture appearance after it is converted into 256-colours palette. The solid surface structure is visually „disintegrated“ – this will add some realism to your addons as well as prevent creation of ugly effects that often occur after the palette conversion. This layer intensity should be very fine, otherwise you get everything else except the realistic surface effect " - A tutorial by Marfy see here: http://www.volny.cz/marfyart/desertofp/tutorial_02engl.htm Adding the "scratches" to the textures will make the compression if the pac/paa look much better.

I often use ............."Paint".. and save "path changing" with CorelPHOTO-PAINT. When textures are with transparency I use Photoshop (I have problem with transparency - when I saved .tga-file with Photoshop textures lose quality. If somebody can do config ( do separate addon ) I can send him textures of my T55 and M60 ( AH1, Mi17, Mi24, UH-60 or some other my textures). I don’t have time to do these separate addons now. I mean like decoding the model file...

Can anyone tell me what programs you use for "retexturing" or texture "path changing" cause we at ABO are doing some stuff that REALLY needs that.... you'll get to know soon what we are up to  EDIT: small example

Gummi replied to Tigershark_BAS's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
