dont get me wrong, your jungle work is great i just mailed you a suggestion how to make it more nam like but i dint know if its possible in OFP at all keep up the great work -

as long as we are not complete with things, there is no betatest a new screenie of a MP mission, where planes are bombing a bridge for more ingame action while playing =) -
kegetys made a tunnel and postet pics in another thread i think he createt a tunnel Model and set it over the normal terrain cause as far as i know the terrain itself cannot have double z-axis / tunnels since every x/y has only one z coordinate but with big mountain models it could be done

Yep, i know martins UH-1 pretty cool and its already retextured by someone perhaps they will see this thread next days and join the OpenSource Nam mod - since the Big Vietnam Mod from Seventh seems to be released not earlier then 10 months I think Seventh is busy with the Independence Lost project and has no time anymore for his mod.. well meanwhile we could do an own little nam mod by merging all the people and stuff that already exist -

real jungle is still a prob The Ebuds stuff is very cool for tropic /carribian islands but not so good for vietnam maps as the vegetation there is a bit different. Perhaps theres somebody who will retexture the forest objects to jungle well, i'm a biologist so i'd get lots of sources for textures but I'm not experienced in texture making -

Apoclaypse now is one of my favorite movies... I just raised the mountains a bit higher thats better for MP - you cant leave the valley -

yep, anything your UH-1 e.g. would be very cool The SEB NAm pack would be great to integrate so we can make a package of all islands, MPmissions,camapigns an addons - like open source Mod from th community thats better then downloading anything separate without having any missions for it... -

@Aldega desert storm wasnt by me i have never done a commercial addon before - POW was my first and last time so far. second thing is that codemasters lost at court and we won the reason is: we sell our work, not the work of codemasters you cant paly POW without having their product so thats the way they profit from it, too just if we would make new seats for a Mercedes BEnz - Daimler Chrysler couldnt prevent it So lets close that discussion - as it's already too late anyway and I start doing games from scratch now - as the thing i want to do is making games @avonlady thx and respect for your work

well , it's legal just like its legal that codemasters sells OFP without paying to microsoft OFP doesnt come with an system POW doesnt come with game engine so its legally the same thing - so the justice gave us right however I contacted marek spanel about that he said, that he find pow impressing but it aint his decision - i should ask Codemasters about that so i contacted codemasters, and our publisher offered them to recieve money for each sold POW CD but Codemasters reaction was just another court thing... so B.I. doesnt care much about POW i think and for Codemasters its just a think that reduces their profit so it's understandable that they try to prevent it however, i have learned from that My next game will be a fullprice game - i'm just collecting together the new team that commercial addon stuff causes too much trouble anyway, i hope you will enjoy pow a lot - our betatesters had great fun in playing the campaigns and the POW matches stay tuned

On www.Operation-Flashpoint.de we started a test with a DSL host and about 5-12 players connected. When many players were connected, it often happened that some players startet somewhere over the water (and having no control) and not on the island, when the map was started after the briefing. perhaps they were on position [0,0,0] We used different official maps and the socket mode, of course. One time it happend, that all the players didnt get over the "Recieving Data" screen, when starting the game from the lobby. But anyway, the new netcode and features are Great and a pleasure to play !!

look in Addons + Mods forum there are more explanations and a automatic grass script this adds grass automatic where you are walking and saves performance

btw not to get us wrong: the Grass was already included in OFP Counter just made an addon for it as it was defined in the config.cpp we will improve the script and addon if the tools are released.

So here it is: the automatic grass script (you also need the grass addon from www.planet-of-war.de.vu) http://www.k-foren.de/attachm....=318175 it generates grass only where you are looking to in a circle of 60 meters. You can optimize it for your PC performance in the "gras.sqs"! ( just change this line _radius = _radius + 1 to this _radius = _radius + 5 if your PC has less performance ) i hope, B.I. developers will add a "grass option" in the next patch for fast PCs . If they integrate it in the engine and optimize the grass it could run much faster.

hi people i'm just finishing the automatic grass script It adds grass only whre you look to this should raise the performance drastically and anoter big performance raise can be expectet when the tools are released

btw i forgot: here is the toplist for mission 1 http://www.xqube.org/~opf/ofp-center/top10.htm the sense of that mission was to make a little pricegame send your screenshot with your best time and you can win a POW cd. we realized that all wanted to see the engina and not some missions - so expect a new "STRATEGY ENGINE" demo soon
