The updates didn't seem to be the problem. I used the cutPBO utility and cut the front of o.pbo off and it fixed the problem! Hooray! Search in the AvonLady's FAQ for cutPBO and you'll find it. I am SOOO happy!

I can't wipe my hard drive. Can I uninstall the updates?

The folks at Codemasters are thinking this is a problem unique to me. Interesting, I think! Anyone else playing with a 9700 Pro? Or with a p4 2.53? Or with 512 megs o' ram?

No, I don't have any addons at all, just the Resistance Expansion. This is a totally clean install. And, I have tried in almost all possible resolutions, except 640x480. I first tried the game with all the highest resolutions, since the computer is so fast. That didn't work, so I lowered it, including all the cockpits and all the textures, and nothing has worked. I can play the original, albiet with the funny flashing textures.

Somebody posted somewhere saying that the problem is Windows XP updates, and that every time he gets the Microsoft Security Updates, his Resistance stops working. Anyone know anything about this?

I just got the latest drivers as well, and it still flashes. I was killed by a gun with a hat on a flashing road.

It does sound like you have too many addons, if it ever worked at all and now doesn't. My problem boggles my mind, however, and makes me want to cry. I won't, yet.

Nope, they don't have anything on this problem. I did get the new beta drivers, but it did not fix the problem. This is so sad!

I tried that one to. My BIOS will only let me set it at 64, 128 and 256, and that other person fixed it by setting it to 32.

I have no unofficial addons, which official ones can I erase? I have just done a clean install of OPF:CWC and of Resistance, so I don't know what I can erase.

And, of course, no addons to bog down my memory.

I can't start resistance because of it! Any word? I have a p42.53 with 512 rdram and a huge hard drive, and a Raedon Pro9700.

First, let me say something. It seems to me Extremely wasteful (and thus very U.S.) to not use the Hard DVD cases. But, when I got Resistance in the mail from GoGamer, I was shocked to find it in a DVD case. Does that mean I have the English version? Is it even on sale in the US yet? And if not, does that mean it may come pre-patched like the original?

And when I say hard and intense. I don't know how to do scripting, so this is the best I came up with. Either way, it is a "Hold the Fort" mission. The story isn't done, either, but you are fighting the US forces. They have finally intervened in the revolution, instead of helping during the begining. However, just as the people wouldn't let the Ruskies take over, they won't let the Americanskis either. However, they are stonger than you, and the attack you just pulled off didn't go quite as you planned. You took over the ammo truck, but got alot of people killed. and there is a counter attack coming...... Email me if you want this. It is a terrible bug, and it made me stop as well. I love the game, too! But, if anyone makes that editor, I would pee my pants. That would be gross, so maybe nobody should make that editor.....

Okay, I went to CompUsa (more like poop-usa) and they had it, for $30, while the original is also $30! What a scam those guys are. But, they never get the new games in, and today they had Resistance, so they must not be THAT bad. Right? No.

Then, is it just me, or do no stores have this game in the US? I know OFP sold alot of copies, and the gold upgrade was all over EB when it came out, but what's going on with Resistance?

In this mission, you are supposed to rescue some hostages the soviets took, but I can't even remotely get near before the ruskies start shooting them. What do I do? And, if this has been posted before, somebody just kill me. Ginbo.

Well, I searched a bit more and found a few other posts on this topic. I still haven't tried, but it seems you're right, make the AI stop. Why are they so bad? It is sad, eh?

I agree with that last post. I've never seen the enemy do anything superhuman. They can just aim like a chimp on steroids, except that that chimp is a human with good aim. I always was frustrated by the way nobody can see you at night, however. Like in the original campaign, the last night mission where you try to steal documents. I don't know how many people were in the same bush as me for so long, and nothing ended up happening to me.

The way I get the bug to work (I can't believe I'm saying that) is by simply getting past level 4 and then quitting. Then, I try to play level 5, after restarting the game, and alas! All the weapons are gone. I hope this gets fixed soon, because I'm at my wits end! I love this game more than any other ever, however, and it was a dream come true when the demo was released. Thanks for supporting your fan-base, unlike some (Lions) companies (Head).
