I like the late 70's european cold war example. It was the peak of pre-computer age warfare and huge tank battles across europe would be fantastic. The equipment from that era had alot of class and its a senario that has been largely ignored by the major game developers. How about 1979, a soviet backed east Germany tries to re-unify Germany. the bottom line is that War it pretty much peace keeping, counter insurgentcy and opinion polls these days. I would perfer something with a little more action. my 2 cents...

hmmmm this sounds like fun.  Count on a fresh Garritos mission for this puppy...  just need some new fancy add-on to come out to give me some inspiration and get the juices flowing.  great Idea placebo  *edit* follow up question... since the thing is so long will a user be able to submit multiple missions. Im torn between a WW2 mission and a modern one.

I would skip the 256 cards and go with a 5700 ultra or the 9600xt. you will get much better performance with the faster GPU's in those models. I opted to spend about $50 more and get an ATI 9700 pro 128. with a few tweaks it runds at 9800 pro speeds. thats a $300 card for about $180. if you check the benchmarks you will see ultra cards are the way to go. you may also wanna wait for the new cards by ATI and nvidia they will be out next quarter.

I think a private army pack would be great for OFP.  It would open up a whole new realm of mission making.  We could create realistic senarios in every hotspot in the world.  Blackwater for example is made up mostly of ex-special forces soldiers and uses the Defender 500 Helicopter.  anyone wanna bring these guys into OFP??  I will offer to make the demo mission  here are some pics of Blackwater USA in action in Iraq:
