  1. Really nice looking work once again! A few suggestions though: If you're going to do the modern guys you might as well go all the way. Please forgive me if these are just lacking because they're still WIP: Tactical lights and Aimpoints or, for squad designated marksmen, Acogs and cheekpads on the RK-95s. I can provide some reference material on the Acog-version(mainly on the reticle) used by FDF should you need it.     M4A1's dispersion on single shot in the config is 75% larger than that of all M16s, that's how. On full-auto there's no difference, but you can't hit anything that way anyway :)
  6. Very nice I especially liked the gasmask-simulation. Finally someone makes it so that it actually feels a bit like wearing the real thing.

    An even easier way to separate official stuff from addons: Put all modfolders to a subfolder. For example move all your modfolders for Arma2\x\, and voila, you no more have umpteen folders cluttering the main Arma2-folder Loading them from there works just as before, only you have to give the new path. Ie. -mod=@MyÃœberMods would now be -mod=x\@MyÃœberMods.
  8. Your experience is weird Wolle, as I've been doing that for a long time now and it always works. Just don't go to the "Edit profile" part of the A2 menu. I haven't write-protected the file or anything special either.

    M4s are less accurate than M16s in A2 and the difference in turning is minimal, so I'd rather say there's no reason to take the M4. If you run my Muzzlevelocitymod the difference is even bigger in favor of the -16s.
  10. Afaik there aren't yet any mods that change the tracer effects. The mod linked above changes the patterns and such, but does not touch the effects. One part of SLX modifies the impact smoke and makes it look quite nice, but no tracers there either.
  11. Wow, quite some speeds there :) It'd be nice to see those toned down a little bit. It's ok if they are a bit faster than whatever real-life reference speeds you choose to use, but those are just outrageous.
  12. At least Yoma's Addon sync, linked above, supports betas. If you really want to use a launcher it is a good option.
  13. Besides scripting there are ways to do it in the editor, assuming your units are part of the same group: Place the vehicle on the map Place the units on the map. Change their "Special"-field to "In cargo" Group the vehicle with the units' leader or Place the vehicle on the map Place the units on the map. For the units you just placed add a "Get in nearest" waypoint somewhere around the vehicle. No need to group the vehicle to anything.
  14. Mods are loaded precisely the same way, beta patch or not. Just do it as before and you'll be ok.

  17. I'm pretty sure it was client-side "lag" only, the game slowing down after a while because the empty casings kept piling up. IIRC there was such bug in one version of ACE but they got rid of it pretty quickly.

    Wiki says it has a 25mm rotary cannon in USMC use and the Brits use twin 30 mm ADENs. I have also personally seen a USMC Harrier with a rotary cannon on static display at an airshow in Finland. It was in mid 90s so I don't remember any more details, but I'm 100% sure it was an AV-8B and it had a rotary cannon. As far as Vikhrs are concerned, I've understood that it has a limited air-to-air capability in real life, but that it'd take a hell of lucky shot to hit a fast-moving jet with it.

    At least for mortars the explosion radiuses seem about right or just slightly too big, but a bigger problem is the tabletop world and lack of fortifications. There's nowhere to go for cover because apart from the odd dry riverbed or rock there aren't many "micro features". Irl "Infantry is always on the move. If not forwards then downwards".

    Don't worry, the problematic ones will usually either learn after the first few bans or leave.
  25. Find a server where you're allowed to shoot trucks just for run, or behave on servers which don't. Getting banned is very easy to prevent with the use of common sense.
