    JTD Fire And Smoke

After a few hours on a server with someone using the mod, but not me or the server, arma2.rpt is full of this: Warning Message: Script JTD_FireAndSmoke\Scripts\ForestFireTree.sqf not found Any chances of doing something about it?

While I agree that JIP is an extremely good feature, you must remember that the lack of it wasn't much of a problem with the original OFP. You'd just look up a server that was just setting up, or better yet do something productive while having OFPLauncher or similar watch your favourite server for mission change.

    Close quarters/Wall hugging

Yeah, but an MP5 doesn't seem any better than an M16 Granted I haven't looked at the configs to confirm this, but at least in Arma1 this really was the case: All primary weapons had the same "collision model". It would be great to be barking up the wrong tree, and that weapon length really mattered, but it certainly doesn't seem so ingame.

    Close quarters/Wall hugging

In my opinion the current CQB maneuverability is already ok, and in some cases actually too good. Weapon length and weight, for example, don't really come into play. There's practically no advantage in picking say an M4 over an M16, even though the latter is quite a bit longer. Both are just as easy to maneuver in Arma and the lack of fatigue makes weapon weight irrelevant. You can be in "high ready" all day long.
  5. Ok I might have misunderstood you, in which case please forgive me, but I've never seen an mg, PKM or other, that feeds straight from a box. The belt might be in a box, but trust me they're always belt fed, also in Armas.
  6. Next WIP: An airfield big enough to accomodate that beast :)

    Falling down the helicopter

All this means is 1) None has reported it 2) None has made one These have nothing to do with whether the bug itself exists or not. You might want to believe people who have reported its existence right here in this thread, because it starts to get a bit repeative. edit: I've come across this problem in several other missions besides Domination. Not that throwing people out of gunner and passenger seats would be a feature in Domi either.

    Falling down the helicopter

The bug does exist. I've experienced it myself several times and seen and heard several other people experience it. Unless falling out of a chopper when switching seats is considered a feature of course :) It has nothing to do with role restrictions, and it isn't easy to repeat with consistent results. edit: At least I do not know how to. By the looks of it Belier13 does. How to experience it: 1) Get several players in a chopper. MH-60 is one I've fallen out of several times. 2) Have one player fly around while the others switch from backseat to gunner and crew chief, and back.

    FP : DR - News & Discussion

It's been there since 1.0. "Tab locking" a target(tested in M1A2 Tusk) enables ballistics calculations for that particular target. Not exactly a proper FCS, but at least a start.
  11. edit: Nvm, sometimes it actually pays to read the op in detail If it isn't mods then a custom face or custom sounds, those might be the issue.
  12. The following happened in Berzerk:Sobor: I was lying pretty well concealed in a bush well away from the combat, taking my time engaging only "sure" targets, when suddenly an enemy M1A1 pulled up right in front of me. At this point I had no doubt he had located me and death was near, as I had foolishy taken several shots from the same spot, but to my amazement he rolled right past and started hammering targets in the town. I just happened to have one satchel with me, and the situation was defused with a quick sprint over to the tank followed by a big explosion :)

    New Demo Required

I've got two X1950Pros in crossfire, and Arma2 runs above expectations on them really. I wasn't expecting much, but with mostly normal/low settings and post-processing effects switched off I can run it between 20-60 fps very comfortably, and it's stable as hell. I'd say it runs almost as well as Arma1, but looks better. The keys for this were: -winxp to the commandline of Arma2-shortcut. In my tests this gave better results than renaming the .exe. -maxmem=2047 to the commandline of Arma2-shortcut. Stability increased dramatically. Texture memory to "low" in Arma2 settings as well as texture detail. The 256mb in these cards have just doesn't cut it for higher settings. and the specs are: C2D E6400 @ 2.8ghz Two Radeon X1950Pro 256mb versions 4 gb ram Win7 RC1 X64

    Sound Of War v1.0

Wasn't this proven as a myth? I'm under the impression that they're loaded in the order that best satisfies all requiredAddons dependencies. For example: mod1 has mod2 in its requiredAddons. The order in the shortcut doesn't matter, mod2 will always be loaded before mod1.
  16. After an afternoon of mixed MP with this one I'm highly pleased. I didn't conduct any scientific tests yet or take any screenies(too busy playing!), but the intial impression is that the mod really makes a difference. I mainly concentrated on watching how buildings behave, so I won't comment on units yet. The most obvious difference was this: With sub-3000 viewdistances the "before" situation was that you'd have buildings suddenly pop out of the ground, ground which had already been visible for a long time. Using the mod you have the ground and the buildings fade out of the fog at the same time. This might not sound like much explained like this, but it looks very good ingame. I'll try to grab some video or screenies later on. On my crappy rig the effect on performance wasn't really noticeable most of the time, maybe a few fps here and there, but there was slight stuttering that wasn't there before when flying at high speeds with the viewdistance over 4000-5000.

Score board wrong after patch 1.03?

The minus score for using enemy vehicles has been happening since the beginning, it wasn't introduced in 1.03.

    1.03 server.exe

Finally, the patch is complete :) Good job. Yes, with patch 1.03. IPs: http://arma2.swec.se Even before the server .exe was released there were dozens of servers listed.

    1.03 server.exe

No? I guess the tens of dedicated servers, including the one I was just on, are all my imagination then.
  20. More like in-dash scrolling Youtube comments, because that's what this thread reminds me of.

    Analogue Throttle

After more testing I'm actually not so sure anymore. It seems that the result of binding both is some kind of weird hybrid mode, which seems analogic at first but isn't. I was able to move slowly down the runway, but the throttle definitely acted differently than without "increase/decrease" bound.

    Analogue Throttle

The 50% "issue" is probably because Arma2 sees each axis as two controls: Axis+ and Axis-. For me the whole package worked this way(let's say my Saitek X52 throttle axis is called "throttle": 1) Clear all previous mappings for "throttle" 2) Bind "Analogue throttle" to throttle+, bind "Analogue break" to throttle- 3) Bind "Increase throttle" to throttle+, bind "Decrease throttle" to throttle- Voila, jets now work with the analogue throttle and helos with the old system.
  23. Could be a thing with the X-45 then, because it(zoom in X52 thumb slider) works at my end without overriding anything. Right mouse zoom works as before.
