That, I believe is an issue that I had in OFP , I have upgraded my comuter since then and so im not sure if it IS the same in arma. Â My previous computor had a soundblaster SE (or somethin like that) and it was the worst card ever. Â The static i had from vehicles was deafening. Â It was strange. Â It seemed that explosions or loud sounds would trigger it. Â The only way for me to get rid of it was to restart comp. Â I literally destroyed two seperate sets of speakers because of this problem. Â I had installed the newest drivers. Â They cause a super high pitched sound untill comp finished start up after install. Â Soution: Get a new sound card. Â If it is same problem i had it will be much cheaper to get a new sound card that it is for a new set of speakers. Â Hope this helps. Cheers, Federal

That would be greatly appriciated.  I am now almost positive its sound related.  I just played the game, had no sound what so ever.  I exited, went into I tunes and it said my audio systems was not configed properly for sound play.  My sound is via motherboard and as far as i know the driver info is soundMAX 5.2 This is first time that is has done the no sound thing.  However when I shut down comp, and the started back up it crashed  three times when booting, i did 3sec cut off thing w/power and then it booted and it did the safe mode options and other stuff that happens.  It eventually started in the "normal mode" and now im back.  This crashing business is making me uneasy...  I am wondering  if ( though this never had anyting to do with crashing) when i run fraps and try to record, I get no sound,  only video.  I tried all the sound options and I wonder if my sound control systems is not campatable or something.  I have tried to find drivers but all i can find is them advertising sub products.  Tha actual ingame sound is fine its just after recording  when i run it theres nothing.  I wonder if openAL is in conflict or if it has interfered with my sound system. This would make sense if openAL runs even when game is not. Do you know if this would be true or not, or is it just when in game? Many thanks, Federal

Any ETA when it will come up? Is open AL connected to BI or is it just a program you use to get the game running? I hope the site gets back soon.. Thanks, Federal

Hi, I am having somne issues with my computor crashing randomly after installing ArmA, it doesn't just crash in game. I could have never played anyithing and at somepoint i will comeback and it will have rebooted for no reason. This happens randomly and started literally the day after the game first crashed. The only warning i have gotten from my comp is that i have a driver that is corrupt/damaged and causes this rebooting. I have updated my graphics card driver to catalys to tne newest one, I think it could possibly be thata new driver stuff that came with the game. OpenAL I believe it is called. I was trying to updated the driver or reinstall as it may have ben damaged from original install. I tried to go to www.openal.org and after my browsers get about half way (after a min or so) it says error 500 (or something) the server can not get to the page bla bla bla. I am wondering if it's just me or what is going omn with OpenAL. I am updating all drivers and still issue not resolved. I would like to rule out OpenAL but alas, I can't get any drivers or even access its site. Anyone know whats going on, or is my internet just deciding to block it? Thanks, Federal

When I downloaded Arma via sprocket (v1.05) download, it failed or did not install the arma_server.exe into my \arma directory.. if you are missing the file.. I can try to give you a copy, which ck-claw was generous enough to give me. Â So just PM me, in the meantime i will try to get some webspace so people can just download it from a website. Â (Im not sure how common this lack of the arma_server.exe being installed is, it may have been a fluke thing for my install). Cheers, Federal

the admin password is stored in your server's config.cfg it is the config file you need to create, th location may be ( C:\Prgram files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\server.cfg ) create a short cut to your arma_server.exe that is in your \Arma dircetory target line, put the following in the target line: "directory list to Arma\arma_server.exe" -config=server.cfg one of the lines you must must put in your server.cfg is passwordAdmin = "xyzxyz"; Password to protect admin access -Replace xyzxyz with your admin passowrd to login as an admin press / and type #login xyzxyz hope that helps. I already have a server config that i found on the forums that someone posted.. looks nice and i undsrstand it. So just to clarify i copy all of my installed C:\program files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma\ into the same place on the server. Â I think i also put the server.cfg in the\arma directory folder and when i (eventually) get the arma_server.exe i put that in the same \arma directory folder.. make a shortcut and make the target line "C:\program files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma\ArmA_Server.exe" -config=server.cfg I thnk it is pretty well set up all i need to do is transfer the files.. but i see no point in transfering them without having the arma_server.exe... ... I really want like to get a server running so if anyone could help me with finding the arma_server.exe that im missing. Â I have the sprocket downloaded v1.05, I just got it a few days ago and cant wait to get a server up.. and also cant wait for ArmA retail DVD's to get to Canada so we can get more Canadians in this .."Amazing" game.. Ive played OFP since it first came out and ArmA is great but it would be even better if I could try my hand at hosting an ArmA server... Â PLEASE HELP !! Â Thanks, Federal

Good, so its not that complicated.. anyways could someone please upload/link me to ther arma_server.exe ..maby zip or rar it and put it on their site or something..that would be great. It would be nice if moderators could ftp it on the site and make a link to make sure it's secure... I would really like to get a server up... I am assuming that the 1.05 patch that (i think) makes all versions/other release areas on the same level so that some one else's arma_server.exe (no matter what coutry it was released in though english is probably required) would not have trouble with my international sprocket downloaded version.. PS: so just to make sure all I do is take all of my C:/program files/ Bohemia Interactive/Arma folder and (hopefully) add the arma_server.exe into the main directory and just move it to the server comp and just run it .. and it sould be ok right? Thanks, federal

Hi, this is my first post here and I hope I havent asked a stupid question so, here it is.  I have the sprocket online download of v1.05.  It runs well and havent had a problem yet.. however i have a seperate computer i could run a server on and it has O.K. upload bandwidth 1Mbps (i think).  I checked my Arma dircetory and i cant find an Arma_server.exe or what ever the program is, or any other .exe besides the actual game.  I have checked the Wikipedia thing about dedicated servers and i cant use the "arma.exe"-server (i think) because it uses the cd key or it may ask to verify/renew my key (and dont want to risk that) and I probably cant run the client on the same network as the server.  Any ways I am basically asking how to get a 1.05 server on a seperate computer and for it to not need any verification of its key (or somthing to that effect).. though I would think this is a good thing because people would want more servers..right? I won't buy a seperat copy just to run a server and am hoping theres a program i can just install or something so i can run a server.  The game I downloaded is already 1.05 so im not really sure what to do about it not having the arma_server.exe because i cant update it or fix it and have no CD/DVD to explore.  So basically: Is there a way to install a 1.05 server on a seperate computer (on the same network) and not need a new cd key?  If it is just me missing the arma_server.exe and all i have to do is copy over my  client directory files and get the arma_server.exe then I would greatly appriciate it if someone could upload/link me to an arma_server.exe or whatever i need.  PS: I am a total noob as far as hosting a server on ArmA goes.. The only server experience i have is running a CS server with amxx mod and ran it with a very user friendly gui or whatever the interface is called(wich is VERY user friendly) so please explain things thuroughly because i may not be as server savy as you. Thanks, Federal
