Don't forget US special forces use open-top, low profile Land Rovers! Brilliant work by the way lads. Is there any way you can sort out a non-JAM version of the DPM pack, with better sounding SA-80s?

MAAM: Mutually Accepted Ammo & Magazines addon
Flogger replied to theavonlady's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I think this goes a long way towards what someone mentioned on the Y2K3 forum. Well done Avonlady! -
I use -nosplash, with an "s".

Not really. I asked snypa if he thought it was time to get his idea out. I'm not an add-on maker or anything like that. But discussion aids ideas, so perhaps I can help in that way. Let's see what snypa has to say...

Have you got a mild personality disorder, Silent Pro? What proof do you have of a bad attitude? Snypa said he had a new idea, so why shouldn't he share it? My post asked him to.

BAS died a few months ago - how about a new concept?

Who cares about JAM these days? It's caused as many problems as it's solved. I'd much prefer non-JAM guns that actually work how they're supposed too!

Hi sorry I took a while to reply, been camping for the weekend. My OFP stutters most noticably on the front page demos! In game it's not as noticable. Amazing I know. Probably just some idiosyncracy of my rig.
-
I run Windows 2000. My GFX card is a 9600 Pro.

My OFP Y2K3 graphics seem to "lurch" every few seconds - they run smoothly and then will stutter and lurch for a frame, like something is being loaded into memory. Using OFP unmodded fixes it, but who wants to do that?! I've got 256mb video ram and 512mb ram so it can't be lack of memory - does anyone else have this problem?
-
It seems potluck with the save games in Res, but then that was always a problem for me.
-
Alygator the solution was given upthread somewhere, around p100 I think.

Cheers.

How about a static land base with multiple weapon positions?
-
Personally, I'm happier without it. I'm thinking of getting all the weapons crates and mission weapons load-out options standardised to Y2K3 (eg a Suchey SWS instead of M21 etc). Anyone want to guide me on what I need to do?
-
Hmmmm, pity the West AT weapons aren't similarly powerful. MsFlogger understands my foilbles.

Yeah, I agree, but after a big battle you just get "Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzz" and the sound isn't very localised. Thanks for the tips, will sort them out tonight. BTW, the default East RPGs are one shot one kill, they kick the crap out of anything you fire them at - T80s, M1A2 etc. Not quite sure if this was deliberate! [Edit] Just want to repeat that I am loving this game all over again. My girlfriend is not, however. I really wish the mission editor was more user-friendly (ie you don't need a computer science degree to create good ones) but there you go that's another topic of discussion and we can't have everything!

Pappy, two Qs: How do you get rid of random weather? Blue sky- rain - blue sky - overcast - thunder in 10 mins. Not very realistic! How do you get rid of the fly buzzing? It's annoying me to hell and back.
-
Oh yeah Kuba, you could always use the shift-minus and endmission cheat to get past the copters.

I'm the last person to ask about that! I think I did a parachute script once upon a time (that didn't work anyway) and that's about all my experience. But, for examples of insurgent capability against heavy armour / choppers: Mojaheddin in Afghanistan Somalia Iraq Chechnya I've got to say though: I completed the helo airport mission in question with RPGs. It took hours, but it is possible. Equip all your men with sniper rifles and RPG launchers, take out the tanks / APCs, pick off the infantry from the hills and then move in to take the helos out from the roofs of the buildings.

It is unbalanced when it's Resistence v East! Isn't there a success probability factor in the deflection script?
-
Unhappy customer , not knowing a thing about coding myself, I'm going to have to wait for someone else to do it again!

Brilliant mod Pappy, I've just played through the 1985 campaign again and the experience is improved immesurably! Just a few things though, many of the weapons crates in the campaign and the loadout have old weapons like laws, M21s and M60s etc and not the ones in the update. It would be nice to grab yourself an SWS or SAW instead of the standard BIS things on a loadout. It's probably a bug but all the M4s are still called XMs as well. The model used for the Russian sniper looks a bit odd with all that backpack and rollmat stuff - he'd be a bit bogged down in real life with all that gear! I'm not sure what you could use instead but perhaps the sniper model from the marine assault pack would be better? I'm a bit puzzled why BAS SOAR pilots were used for tank crews as well. Was it your intention to mix Flora and Bereska camos on the Russian soldiers - it just looks a bit odd. Also, the same model is used for pretty much all resistance fighters. It looks really good and the (I think Flectarn) camo is really well rendered but there's not much variation. The M113s are still being used more than Bradleys in the campaign - maybe these could be replaced. The M113s are still totally outgunned by the BMPs with their sabot rounds and missiles. The mission to take Kolgujev sees a bunch of M113s slaughtered in about two minutes of fighting. The Hummer M2 sounds are horrible as well, is there any chance of an updated config to normalise them with the rest of the game? Oh yeah, and wouldn't a Hummer with an M2 be better for the Jeep / gun? These are all little things and probably not worth looking at but I just thought I'd alert you to them if you hadn't anticipated them. They're certainly not criticisms! Thanks again for all your efforts on this, it's revived a game I was thinking of getting out of. Now all we need is a new campaign!
