In OFP, I can't get my chopper to "roll over". That limiting factor was really annoying. It made it feel like I was playing SIMCopter... I loved SIMCopter, used to play it all the time back in its day. Then when Battlefield Vietnam came out, I bought that. The awesome feeling of freedom from a hard-capped limit to the amount you can pitch and roll changed my perspective on everything. Since then, I didn't fly choppers in OFP unless I absolutely had to. In conclusion, the way OFP handles flight mechanics is just so unnatural. When I fly, I want my freedom! It's time to teach an old chopper new tricks.

About auto-rotation in ofp: I had done quite a bit of testing in the past, and it seems dependent upon where your throttle is at the time of engine failure. According to my tests, assuming that full down collective would be 0%, and full up collective would be 100%, your throttle would have to be at a position less than 75% in order to have auto-rotation. Of course, you would have to react quickly and apply down collective if you want to land it in one piece. I will also give you some tips on how to survive when you have to do an auto-rotation. First, apply full downward collective. Of couse you should know this one by now. Second, manuever your chopper to a location above a hospitable piece of ground to land on, and decrease your speed to 0. Third, apply full upward collective when you are no less than 15 meters off the ground, this will land you without taking damage. You can decide to do this at 20 meters off the ground if it makes you feel more comfortable, just be sure to lower your collective so that you don't stall the rotors. This applies to all helicopters in the game in case you were wondering.

I only meant to refer to ofp's constrictability of the controls (the limit on how far you can pitch and roll). I liked bfv for being able to invert the chopper when I wanted to, and also having to counter my control inputs to cancel them out.

I used to fly choppers in ofp a long time ago, and I was very good at it too. Then I picked up a copy of battlefield vietnam. I flew choppers in that game and became a very good pilot, often receiving many comments on my abilities. Now I view ofp's chopper controls as being very arcadey, I no longer bother with flying choppers in this game anymore. I highly hope for much better controlability for the choppers in this game. Wouldn't want this game to take a backward step and end up like Soldner or Joint Operations.

In my opinion, racism started with religion. I'm not a religios person. I stay away from that kind of stuff because religion causes too many problems in this world.

I could suggest that we make a script of everything said available. Therefore, we wouldn't have to go through all the trouble of adding subtitles.

I'm making a script setting the direction of a vehicle, but when it's on a slope it wants to face a direction parallel to the slope. Here's what I have in the script: _car setdir (getdir _car + _dir * _speed * 0.01 / _carlength) I just don't know why OFP would betray me.

If you had graphics like stalker in ofp, you would probably need a very good computer or it will run very slowly. I would rather have a very realistic war sim than very good graphics. -
I'm sure the devs will do their best to ensure a realistic combat experience in OFP2. They just need to make a better flight model. It would be awesome if they did the same thing in Soldner where the view distance is very high and still have smooth performance, then proper strafing runs in planes would be possible and would make for some good air combat action.

I have an old model that i made last summer, never did get it working properly. make a script that will identify friendly planes as incoming scuds for friendly fire

Sorry it's been so long since the last update. The learjet model currently looks like this: http://www.freewebs.com/frag_master/lear4.JPG as you can see, it has improved much compared to http://www.freewebs.com/frag_master/lear2.JPG New engine sound, also made some changes to the pull up warning script. I will still be making improvements to the model. If you guys have any suggestions to make this addon as good as possible, please feel free to post them.
