Artillery shell shot down by laser!

I don't think having Robots turn on their creators would be the biggest worry, after all, the AI still has to have its views shaped by its learning process. What would be more likely (and much funnier) would be having AI computers commiting "suicide" because they got depressed "Oh no, not that game again.... *Blink*" Just like the robot in Fallout...

    Can you cross the line?

What people fail to realize is that no matter how realistic games get, it will never be real. Even virtual reality, is still not real. A good parent will sit down with their child and teach them the difference. Thus violence in video games and movies isn't that big an issue. Certainly however that doesn't mean we should remove censorship to allow 5 year olds to play some of the more gruesome games.
  3. Okay, is there a way to mark on the map the movement of an enemy vehicle. Ie. A script taking the position of the vehicle, and then marking it on the map accurate to within about 10 metres. I was thinking it would make for an interesting map where 1 person is a running man, trying to get away from a team hunting him down.

Once even offering up to 90% of the land (That's Isreali Land, not the Occupied West Bank and Gaza strip) back to the Arab countries that they took it from. Yet the offer was refused, and the suicide attacks continue. These terrorists have no logic, and no Morals. You can't negotiate with that. Â There is no negotiating with terror.<span id='postcolor'> <sarcasm>And almost 50 years of fighting terrorism has brought and end to it . </sarcasm><span id='postcolor'> No, that's fifty years of half-heartedly fighting it when it was politically worthwhile getting involved. If you weren't to pig headed to actually read my posts and get the points from them, you would have seen that in order for any fight against terrorism to succeed, you need EVERY country standing against it. As for violence breeding violence... thats crap. Remove the children from their parents and bring them up in a non-hostile environment, and there wouldn't be any hatred of America or the Western world, because they wouldn't have that hatred pumped into them from a young age. All that leaves in the elimination of those already at an age to despise the Western World and want to carry out attacks, and the elimination of new groups before they get a support structure in place.

But elimination of the terrorist cells before they get established, before they get weapons and the manpower to carry out co-ordinated attacks with the support structure to disappear afterwards (ie. Al Qaeda, the IRA etc.) is the only way to ensure that terrorism is not used as a weapon in ANY attempt to sway people's emotions. Think. If you let the terrorists get away with one attack, and withdraw from the war against terror because of them.. then next time that group wants something, they'll resort to another attack.  Why? because it worked.<span id='postcolor'> And you really think that attacking Iraq will end terrorism? If you want to retaliate, send special operatives in to arrest/take out/assassinate terrorist leaders. Why bomb a whole country (including civilians), to retaliate against a small faction of fanatics? What if Timothy McVey (the Oaklahoma bomber) had decided to attack an overseas target instead of sticking in the USA. Would the country concerned be justified in attacking the whole of America? Anyway, this debate has been done to death on these forums over and over again. Pro-US advocates can't see the cause behind the terrorist attacks...and I'm sure they think the same about those on the other side of the deabte.<span id='postcolor'> When Did I say that bombing Iraq would end terrorism? The matter in Iraq with Suddam is about him breaching the United Nations resolutions placed upon his country for his attempts at ethnically cleansing the Kurdish population, now currently protected by the Coalition No-fly zones. I said that the only way to stop Terrorism was to prevent new cells from becoming established, and from becoming organized. That means, that is is essential for ALL countries to be involved in eradicating such groups. As if stands now though, Iraq is a major supporter of global terrorism, as is the Palestinian leader. With them still in power it will be impossible to eliminate terrorism on a global scale. That does not mean though that a full scale bombing of Iraq will work to get rid of him, but again.. the world can not just let Saddam go around ignoring the UN resolutions on weapons creation like he does.

There are ways to go about removing a foreign power from your country without resorting to cowardly attacks on unarmed civilians. Giving your own life for something you believe in can be considered Brave, and to a point Heroic. However, taking innocent lives along with your own is far from it. I didn't say by not going to war we would be considered weak... But elimination of the terrorist cells before they get established, before they get weapons and the manpower to carry out co-ordinated attacks with the support structure to disappear afterwards (ie. If you let the terrorists get away with one attack, and withdraw from the war against terror because of them.. then next time that group wants something, they'll resort to another attack. Why? because it worked. I quote Harrison Ford from Airforce One... "Atrocity and Terror are not political weapons. And to those who would use them, your time is over" THAT is the attitude we should all have, because THAT is the only attitude that will work. No more of this "We'll get involved when it suits us politically." or "We'll stick our noses in only when it suits us."

Well, actually the blame of this bombing has fallen upon the Jihad Islamia or JI terrorist faction, and not on Al Qaeda as some of you seem to think judging by your posts. Another point of note which I feel alot of you have missed, is that the terrorists are attacking places such as the WTC, and now Bali to make people go "Oh gosh, they've attacked us because of our governments involvement... lets get them to step back" They EXPECT people to have that sort of idiotic reaction, they thrive off responses like that. Its the basis of terrorism. Inspire fear in people and they BACK OFF. Give in to them once, and the next time they want something.. they'll resort to an attack again. Getting involved to stop ALL terrorist groups now (Including the IRA and PLA and non-islamic groups) is the only way to ensure that there are no continued attacks. I can't believe the majority of you can't see that.

    Sniper sim

The Problem with Police Quest SWAT though was the games length. Because it was a mixture oF FMV and Static backgrounds, the CD's (Four of them from memory) mostly contained video's, so the game only had the training, and four levels. Only one of which was Sniper based. (Ie. you qualified as a sniper, and then the next call-out could be the one where you acted as a sniper) Certainly each level had 2 entry points you could be given, and a host of events that could happen (The suspect surrenders, Shoots another officer, Goes to shoot you... etc.) But it just wasn't long enough.

What is your favorite type of gun and why?

Handgun: IMI Desert Eagle .50 Sub-Machine Gun: HK MP-5/10 Assault Rifle: HK G-11 (Can anyone confirm the G-11 is classified as an assault Rifle. I'm going by the Janes gun recognition guide) Now, for the MP5 and the Desert Eagle, I would have to modify one I got.

It is capable of super-cruise, that is it can fly at speeds up to Mach 1.5 without afterburner, letting it fly faster for longer periods than any other air-superiority fighter in existence. It is incredibly expensive though- $150 million+ per aircraft. That means it ain't going to be available in anything approaching adequate numbers for many years.<span id='postcolor'> What is the differences between the F-22 and the YF-23? Is the YF-23 capable of supercruise etc.? I can't find any info on it from sources I'd trust, and the Australian Airforce has them on order for when they are developed.

    Bush is pushing too far

The UN IS trustworthy, they're just completely useless. They don't, or can't enforce the current restrictions placed on Iraq, How could anyone think they will or can enforce any new ones after the weapons inspectors get ousted again, or find WMD's? Iraq needs a new leader, and needs all WMD's dismantled and destroyed. The world doesn't need an Insane dictator with his finger upon a button.

    If you had the chance

Hell YES!!!!. Being in such a team or unit would be good, but being able to run things how you wanted would be even better. Think, a unit that would actually take advice from those in the field, instead of from policy makers in the government who have never fired a gun, let alone been in a combat situation.

    James bond

Scenes from the Latest Bond movie have been stolen from the Novel Ice Station... or at least it appears that way, right down to the sling-shot maneuver of the hovercraft. Bond has lost its charm since Flemming stopped writing them.

    "team factor"

Don't bother. I've played the full vers.... The best thing about it is the weapons selection, being able to buy a whole lot of add-ons for your guns, such as extended or dual clips, silencers, laser sights and scopes etc. There are very few levels, which you have to play twice (if playing SP) once as CT, once as terrorist...

    Resistance

Okay, I started this thread rather than drag up an old one... as I just got Resistance. I love it how in the second mission (where the Rebel is hiding in the farm) how you can betray him and the Resistance and work for the Soviets.... dying a horrible death afterwards - True, but its great how they actually allowed you to do that. Great fun.. and great work.

However it is lightly armed (3 copperhead missiles and chainguns) and a hit from any SAM or AA cannon should nail it. No way it's as tough as an Apache. The main feature that most people forget about Airwolf is it is designed to appear to be a civilian helicopter, hence the logo of the wolf in sheep's clothing. It is not an out and out gunship.<span id='postcolor'> It isn't indestructable to machine gun fire. Certainly the glass and hull is bullet proof, but it is mentioned in the series that a stray round to the engine or exhaust ports will bring her down. Thus, in OFP machine gun damage we can all just imagine to be hits to the engine ports... *Gasps at the mere thought of the Lady being brought down*

    Nwn players need help

***SPOILERS*** Okay, in Charwood castle there is a summoning room in the section with all the fire type creatures... You should find two items in that section that allow you to cast protection and fireball (I think) and a description of a summoning ritual. Summon the Demon belial, and he will tell you that he tricked the brothers into doing it, and will give you a signed confession. That is the proof that you need.
