    Logitech Extreme 3D Joystick

I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro with Arma without any problems. Every button and axis works fine and i never installed any driver. I just attached it to the pc and windows xp installes it without any need for an external driver disk. The only thing i must regard is, that the joystick must be connected befor i start arma. When i attach it after arma has started it doesn't recognize the joystick.

    securom of my ass ...

OK i'm now quite happy how the things are at the moment. After installing D-Tools Arma still runs when not using sysinternals process explorer. I can play Arma and use d-tools for other things which is ok, but not perfect. I hate it that i can't run my beloved process explorer anymore when i want to play Arma. But i hope this will be possible again in the near future. PS: A friend has the same behaviour with d-tools and process explorer like me with Arma.

    securom of my ass ...

Hehe i can't believe it... it's running now. I've tried everything from reinstalling arma, uninstalling d-tools, registry cleaning and nothing helps. Than i read from Sibe that he experienced a correlation between sysinternal process explorer and securom. I use process explorer for a long time, because it's the best task manager replacement out there so i gave it a try. And he was right, after reboot normaly i run process explorer in the background and this time i didn't. Arma starts without any error message for the first time since 1.05. It seems that securom detects process explorer like some kind of debugger, which is not allowed for securom applications. Even after i closed process explorer it won't run anymore until i reboot my pc and NEVER run it since reboot. I hope this helps some of you out there. Now i try to install d-tools and see what happens if i just have them running, but use the original dvd, because i don't want to miss d-tools for other purposes.

    securom of my ass ...

Man this is really annoying. I can't start the game and always get the "can't load security module blah blah" message. I uninstalled d-tools, sptd, cleaned my registry from all the rest, uninstalled and reinstalled arma but everytime the same message. Arma isn't even trying to access the dvd, because the message appears with or without the dvd and there is no access to it. It seems that d-tools isn't the problem at all, because even after uninstalling, reg-cleaning and starting with the original dvd it doesn't work. I hope BIS fixes this thing fast so i can play it again.

Bullet Fire and Flight Model in 1.02

Sounds like something i heard from ofp. They used this sneaking "fade" mechanism for games which think that they are cracked or have a stolen cd-key. I don't want to imply that somebody here uses an illegal arma version, but maybe the copyprotection wrongly activates this mechanism on legal versions.

    Battlefield 1985

Hmm as far as i remember you can see the authors email in the briefing of the mission at the end of the notes. And it is really one of my favorite maps at the moment, i like the respawn script he programmed.

Outflanking me ? i dont think so !

It would ne nice, if graphic cards like the GF4 or others with dual monitor support can be used in ofp and i don't think of the solution to split them and have the crosshair between both. Maybe more something like the default 3D view on the first and some freely defineable 3d view on the second or the map always shown on it. Would be nice if this can be realized sometimes in flashpoint, but the newly working surround gaming for the parhelia shows that nothing is impossible for the future development of flashpoint. Maybe sometimes i can use all my 3 monitors i currently got attached to my pc. Fox

    Linux server crashes

I tried a bit more and after i remove the mission classes in the cfg the server now shows all missions in the selection screen. But therefor it never rotates missions and the players had to select (vote) for them to begin. I tested a few missions like the standard warcry (nogova-coop) and they work fine with good performance (~50% cpu time for it and 50fps server status). I got most of Kegetys/GFX707/DKMM Addons installed on the server but until now don't try a map which uses these addons. The default maps and some custome made maps i tried works all fine for me.

    Linux server crashes

I read shadows post... But the solution is to remove all mission classes in the server.cfg and i don't think that this is a good solution.

    Linux server crashes

I tried the linux server on SuSE 7.3 just a few minutes ago and it works great with very good performance for me. I got only one problem, the server executes the missions defined in the server.cfg but when i log in as admin and make "#missions" i got an empty list!?!? I can't select any missions but i got ~90 on the server. Is this some kind of bug or did i something wrong ? I see that after the linux server installation all missions are now lowercase written, but i don't think this is the problem. BIS pls help me a bit. But i think this ded server will increase the number of ofp players in the world a lot and i also waited long for it, so i want to thank BIS for this nice piece of work. Ciao, Fox

    What ports to open (again)?

I tried to start a ded server behind my linux router and only forwarded port 2302/2303 tcp/udp (don't know if both needed) to my internal machine and the server works fine and shows up in the gamespy list. Ciao, Fox

1.55 dedic in linux with wine

Hehe i use the version which was in the Suse 7.3 package and this is version 20010731. Now i dl the newest 20020509 and try this one. Hope in the new version it works all. Ciao, Fox

1.55 dedic in linux with wine

I also tried the 1.60 server version with Suse 7.3 Linux and Wine and it works mostly. The only problem i encountered was that when a player connects which got a squad url, wine produces a little url error msg and the player hangs at "connecting" and never gets "connected". I tried this for my own player and for others and always the same problem. When i remove my squad url it works without any problems. Now i will test the performance of wine compared to my last test with ofp and win98 in a vmbox in linux which was really slow. Ciao, Â Â Â Fox

    1.60 dedicated won't install

wahhhhhh you are right... *g* the server version is no update it is the dedicated server executable which only runs when in ofp directory. tnx alot Cu, Fox
