I think I need this method: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"alive _x" count (units grparray) > 0<span id='postcolor'> but I'm not really sure about assigning units to an array. Haven't done it before!
-
I'm a little lost (must just be me being dense, will read through again). What I want is a trigger that checks if anyone from a unit is alive. When all units are dead is displays a message saying something like "Charlie Platoon has been wiped out".
-
DooLittle, What's that supposed to do? I'm guessing it's a sidechat to West, saying it's from Base? That'd be really handy, but I couldn't get it to work...

Sweet! -
You might want to try setting their behaviour to "CARELESS". Otherwise the usually go running off looking for something to kill. Damn squaddie grunts...
-
It's: EffectStandSalute and EffectStandSaluteEnd Hope that helps...

Ai defending a fixed position
Fenris replied to fabrizio_t's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
This could come in very handy. I've downloaded some slick little pillboxes and bunkers, but obviously getting the AI to stay in them correctly seemed next to impossible. That disableai "move" think seems like a good idea. Any idea on how to make them crouch and stay crouched? Fed up with AI soldiers falling off towers etc because they keep fecking moving!! Â -
If you've got the mission.sqm file you can open it in the editor and fiddle with it to your hearts content! You'll need to create an appropriately named folder in the users\yourname\missions subdirectory and copy it into there. If you haven't then best you mail the creator and ask them nicely There are tools that will aopparently allow you to seperate out the .pbo files, but I've not used them so can't really comment...
-
Oh, and as an extra query; when the sidechat message is displayed it lists me as Golf Red 1 which I guess is dependent on which order I set up the units. Anyway I can change this designation?
-
Cheers Doolittle, I think you've got a point with the createvehicle thing. A slight variation would be to stick the driver somewhere remote and set up the waypoints from there. Make the first WP dependant on the same trigger that creates the vehicle and then movein the driver to vehicle. Should work I guess... The ~x thing doesn't seem to work. i set up a trigger and in the 'on activation' field I put </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">me sideChat "Looks like we've got light infantry supported by a BMP and a couple of machine gun nests. Over."; ~5; Commander sideChat "Roger that. See if you can take out some of that armour, we'll send an infantry squad to sweep and clear";<span id='postcolor'> but it comes back with 'invalid number in expression'. Am I being a muppet...? Cheers again you two!!

You're a star Azz!! Thank you very much!

Yeah, that's very good, I wasn't sure how to do that. Cheers Chronicles...

Hi, I emailed the support address (from wolfmanfenris@aol.com) and still have not had a reply. I am running version 1.46 of OFP (but have the same problem whatever version, and free of all addons) and my system persistently crashes at no particular time. I'm using Windows XP. Previously I was using 98SE, but I was having problems with that and OFP, seemingly because it did not dynamically assign IRQ settings. Here's the details from my DxDiag.txt file. If someone could please help it would be superb. One of my main reasons for wanting to get broadband is to play OFP, and also I am holding off buying Resistance until I know it is actually going to work!! ------------------ System Information Now that is interesting. I'd checked before and at 133 my CPU temp was about 68C but at 100 it is about 62C. That could be the problem, but like I say it seems to crash when the RAM speed is high. Plus it doesn't seem to crash when doing anything else...

Couple of queries. I'm just practicing with a Little Bird pick up, drop down. I've got it moving to a scripted waypoint where it runs: LB1 Land "Get In"; @LBPickup Exit LBPickup is set to true when: me in LB1 With me so far? Which works okay, but if I am commanding a group and tell them to get in and I don't, the copter will take off again and hover (not move onto next WP). If I am by myself it works fine; i.e. I get in, copter lifts off and goes to next WP. Any ideas? Secondly I want the chopper to drop off so I set up a second scripted WP with the following: LB1 Land "Get Out"; @LBDrop Exit But I'm not sure how to set up the second trigger. I'm guessing that it wants to be something like: not(me in LB1) but, a) that doesn't seem to be the right syntax, and b) not(me in LB1) will activate the trigger at the beginning of the mission. I thought about having a WP that the helicopter needs to go through wich sets LBDrop back to being false, but I'm still not sure of the syntax I'd need for the trigger to detect I'm not still in the Bird. Any help gratefully appreciated!!

Any takers?

Cheers for getting back to me peeps. It's an unofficial addon, rather than a supported thing which would go in in ME. Ain't it something when it takes 1 reply to answer the question and 3 to determine which forum it goes in?

Anyone know the names of the F14's as they should be entered in the editor? E.g: "F14" createvehicle etc... I think there's only one F14 mod out at the moment, but if not I mean the one with 4 varients, 2 AA and 2 AS... Chars muchly...

Oh yeah, and like I asked in another post? How can I assign waypoints to vehicles created using the createvehicle command?

My connection is just really slow...

I'm not 100% at all about this but: 1) Try setting the setbehaviour to "CARELESS" which might keep 'em on their buns 2) You could have a trigger on the destruction of the Shilka doing this switchmove "effectstandmove"; (don't know if that's the right anim though) but it might be easier just to have the trigger set the soldier's behavior back to ALERT or DANGER which would probably get them back on their feet sharp enough. Especially if a Shilka has just gone up next to them...
-
Put: this setbehaviour "SAFE"; this switchmove "effectstandsitdown"; in the init field of the soldier. and: this inflame true in the init field for the fire
