What was your visual distance? The CWC campaign is intended to be played with a 900m (1.46 style) visual distance. If it's over 1000m, the tank battles of the campaign become nearly impossible.

Seems cpu friendly and looks nice... b u t  as much as I've seen horses (wich really isn't a lot) I'd say that the head and neck should be a tad smaller compared to the body...  anyway, waiting for the patchy one Â

It's not really important to portray every unit in the battle at the same time but to simulate the section of line the player is fighting in (respawn scripts, low visibility, ambient sound). Good examples are different WWII FPS games simulating the Normandy invasion and Rome, where there isn't 50000 units present in th battle but the battle still looks grand. About the campaign question, I support the "one character idea" and since big battles are difficult in OFP make the character a Quantril guerilla (not sure about the spelling) member. The campaign could be something similar to the Resistance campaign (with ammo and weapon collecting). In the first mission the player has to defend his home (and maybe family to make it more dramatic) against looting soldiers, fails and goes for revenge gathering his squad along the story (who can be later used as unique characters in another "after the war, wild west campaign").

Just read a bit about infantry tactics at that time and came up with this, animation and speed wise: Weapon on back, slow - Slow paced march, weapon on shoulder Weapon on back, fast - Fast paced march, weapon on shoulder Weapon in hand, slow - Marching, weapon in hand ready to aim Weapon in hand, fast - Weapon pointed forward, charge! Jogging for sharpshooters and cowboys and maybe skirmishers too (like original) Prone position for sharpshooters The default jogging is unrealistic for modern combat (AT equipement=60kg) and just out of place for civil war. What do you think?

Hmm... Wasn't the Henry house mostly destroyed during the First Battle of Bull Run? Texture looks nice though.

Hi, I'm new to the Civil War/Wild west concept. It's different, new, refreshing and I like it (Cavalry ). As I understand your mod wants to display this war from all possible different angles so I have a suggestion: Hot air balloons for reconaissance, nice for some twisted campaign storyline and commanding missions where you can use it for what it's meant. More info Looking forward to your first release.

I can safely say that this is the best OFP video I have seen. One thing came to mind again about the Stinger model=AT missile. Replace the model with an FFAR (like WGL ) it's less noticable and fits better as a makeshift stinger. How about making the civilians more diverse. I played the mission "Revenge" where tthe armed civilians ambushed a russian convoy and it looked like some kind of "assault of the farmers". They all look alike, mind the colours. Is the update going to have chopper wheel suspension scripts implemented (for Mi-17, Uh-60) that came with CSLA 2.1?

About the planes, there should be AI versions of the planes with lower detail cockpits. Right now I get low fps when there are more then 4 planes present in the same area. My specs: AMD Athlon64 3400, 512mb, GeForce6600 128mb

I simply extracted the x_vte folder from the rar into my OFP folder. Edit: Ok, got it, I was running VTE with ECP... from previous versions

When you used FFUR, you draged the notepad via the ruler on it too far off the screen. Then you tried normal OFP where the notepad doesn't have the ruler, so you cant drag it back. Go to FFUR and drag the notepad to the center of the screen and after that try normal OFP again. Hope it helps.

1985/2005 A10 doesn't immediately blow to pieces after ipact with ground like Su-25 does. Sometimes when an A10 crashes I get this at the top of my screen: 'drop ["cl_water", "", "Billboard", 1, 3, [_x,_y,_i], [random 7, random 7, random 30], 3, 2, 1, 1, [_sz+2,_sz+3,_sz+4], [[0.9,0.9,0.9,0.7], [1,1,1, The F-16 leaves a wreck after crashing. The explosion is a very nice touch btw.

This can't be because in OFP:Res 1.96: UAZ, Ural, 5t truck, HMMWV and others don't explode, only in FFUR. ...or is the explosion needed for the fire script to work.

Dont get me wrong Fire and burning vehicles - cool Unexplained explosion killing my troops nearby because the car was hit by smallarms fire - not so cool

As I understand, a sabot round pierces not explodes. If the car is hit by a rocket then the explosion effect of the rocket is enough. A burn effect can be added without the explosion. But if you really want to keep the explosion, could you make it small and without the crater (OFP one).

But could you remove the explosion that occurs the moment the car is destroyed. For an example WGL's cars don't explode when destroyed.

All controls (mouse, keyboard, joystick) are active. You can fly the plane, drive a vehicle, run around as a soldier with any of them. The different contols won't conflict. When using a joystick with a plane, it flies like in flight simulators. You'll be alot better in dogfights and somewhat better at ground attack. Btw this conversation is kind of off topic.

Have you tried to play using a joystick? The flight control characteristics are a lot more realistic and dogfights are a real pleasure. Very tricky to fly a chpper though. Is it intantional that AI soldiers can spot vehicles from a kilometer away no matter the trees and hills, darkness and mist blocking the sight.

1985 - V-80 also has the AI not putting gear up problem. - AA launchers won't lock on to flying planes. 1985/2005 - The debris left from a plane crash litters the radar as west units.

About the Apache missing message, I get it in every mission where there's one present (FFUR 1985). Nothing serious, mission runs fine. I haven't tried the winter or desert pack but I meant the Mi-24 replacement for 2005 and 1985(woodland). Is it really necessary for the cars to explode (except fuel and ammo trucks)? Fuel tanks don't usually explode (unlike Hollywood where every car is filled with explosives ). And what's more they have afterexplosions as if they were loaded with shells.
