Damage model is pretty good? I don't think so. Armors should be more vulnerable from behind, still you could not harm MBT with machine gun (except very lucky shot to optics etc.) even satchel granade and most light AT-weapons are useless against modern MBT like Abrams or T-80. This ain't WWII anymore. In OFP it doesn't matter where you're hitting (front, back or turret armor) tank always need almost same amount of hits and this sucks! Everybody knows tank frontal armor is much better than rear... What we really need is better damage model: imagine yould could shot to the track and immobilize tank or deactivate coaxial MG or you NEED TO go around and fire AT-weapon to back armor. If you hit frontal armor with light weapon shot will bounce off and there should be no damage at all !!! I don't care much about car damage models - they are pretty decent even now. Sure hit to the radiator would be a cool effect. El Savior

Hmm, not familiar with the game. Do you have a link to the game's website?  Check this site and search good old time games... I'm sure Barbarian is one of them  http://www.the-underdogs.org/ El Savior

Easy solution could be country's border. Soldiers are not allowed to cross the border and fight in other country. I'm looking forward to fight in mini-countries ie. Luxemburg El Savior

The A-10 was in NAM I believe.  Went into use around 72-73 I thought  Not quite. Check USAF Fact Sheet about A-10 Thunderbolt. First production A-10 was delivered to USAF in October 1975 after the war. It did not take any part of Vietnam war because U.S. signed peace pact in January 27 1973. El Savior

A great idea! How about if could choose real date when mission will happend. Every weapon and unit have hardcoded 'first apperiance' date or year. I'm pretty sure in BIF's missions we won't see any Apaches or A10's in Vietnam. The problem is when ignorant users are making these Vietnam era missions  El Savior

I agree what Johan said. AI soldiers should be more individuals with their waypoints. If there's a nice cover couple of meters away they should always use it and not to follow the perfect formation. This should be the case at least when the enemy is nearby (aware mode). When in column formation squad should follow exatly leaders footsteps, well actually the lead member (scout). Leader should be also able to choose distances between soldiers in formation (ie. 5-15 metres). El Savior

Which theatre are you most looking forward to?
El Savior replied to SpeedyDonkey's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Indeed. We want more simulation of real world tactics! Squad should advance with combat pairs (not sure about the word in english), in other word, one covering and other advancing. They should automatically look for cover when stopped and kneel down. I'm most looking forward to see Central Europe theatre. Jungle and desert would be cool too. Hopefully this time BIF is using real maps. It would be great to see large wheat fields, farms, small villages, small rivers (!) and realistic wood & bushes cover. Actually it doesn't matter much what theaters will be included. What's is more important is better terrain effect and I'm sure this we will get it in OFP2 Â -
How about if you could reload different loadouts in ammo depot. Just drive your vehicle near ammo depot/car and choose what weapons to carry. Â With aircrafts and helicopters you could load to the maximum takeoff weight (load is also depending how many pylons aircraft have). More weight and more unstable and slower your aircraft is, in other word needs longer runway. El Savior

What I am really hoping for OFP2 is real battlefield. Please add artillery, mortars, rockets, naval guns and other support units. Artillery is the queen of the battlefield! At least add objects, so we can make missions with these guns and simulate artillery or missions were we need to destroy these. More AA-units, specially missile units. And b'coz we get bigger map, (working) radar sites should be included. At least objects, please, so we can simulate all these. Radio could be more real. I would love to call fire support from nearby airport / artillery / tanks. Working chain of command! Real ranks, real companies and batallions! It is very hard to make realistic missions without it. And for last: better and more realistic AI for vehicles. We all know they can't drive/fly, but what I want is realistic movements. So tanks should be less aggressives, aircrafts/helicopters attack far away, etc. Now tank movements look like movie from WWII Â Â El Savior
