Great idea - how about to make a standard to mark them "N+" for "Nationalism Positive"... I hope I am not getting nailed for this The truth is that in many cases (like recent VDV Pack), such biases are not caused by any "we-are-the-best" feelings, but through the deep research on REAL capabilities of particular unit/weapon/vehicle. But the problem is that rest of OFP is not THAT realistic... Pure truth, Tactician! I cannot tell more. About the standardization: I would be really happy to see that bunch of mods like FDF, BAS, WAP, ECP, JAM, CSLA etc. etc. etc. could start discussion about the overall realism of the game, pick up the best ideas and features and create some configuration and script basis for everyone. I have a dream of full compatibility between mods, about the best feature developed in one single code upgrade, used by EVERY major mod. I have a dream of seeing my favourite features from certain mods to be seen in the others without rewriting configs, re-pboing addons and scoping on such impossible tasks. I would love to see everybody in the community to throw off the rivalry and finally start to build something better, or maybe the BEST. This discussion is another proof that comunity lacks but wanst such movement.

Just wanted to say that I really like this addon. Nice and simple, adding great atmosphere to any military encampment

Just wanted to say that the units look great - very good update of my favourite pack. But I would like to nicely ask the authors to think more about balance of (otherwise splendid) units. I have became fan of this addon since the first release, but I always realized the addon is too strong compared to any other units in OFP. I think that overpowering drags this units too down, and Laser and Denorc should at least think of the "vox populi". I understand that there are some reasons for making VDV troops "Russian Rambos", but I would suggest authors to rather develop their own mod, in which they could labor with attack ranges and realism of firefights for ALL units. Until it is finished, I would like to enjoy visual aspect of these units with common skills. Somebody suggested to get rid of this by using custom config, but this does not seem to be solution. I guess this would lead to thousands versions, each with different config. Lets leave this to authors, who should consider if anybody would ever use their addon with such configuration in his missions...

Hell, I spent week in the woods just to return here and realize that quality of pics rapidly increases! Congrats to all authors, good job everyone!

Neither modern nor Soviet-era, something inbetween The desert campaing (or I should rather say "minicampaign") will be set into early 1990s. Czechoslovak expeditionary forces will fight fierce and cunning enemy (neither Americans nor Russians - and I dont want to say that A. and R. are not fierce and cunning, Czechoslovaks will simply fight somebody else!). We decided to aim more on real military aspects (sacrificing several hours of cinematics ) and include as much attack missions as possible, including paratroop recon assault and some naval action. However, island and campaign are in very early stage of development (=lots of arguing, little done ).

Maybe I am not authorized, but yes, it will be desert expansion. Hope it wont be forgotten among all other desert expansions... BTW "Stop these guys" -

I just would like to say that all textures in PSD format (Photoshop; everything in layers) are available to download at my TB website (direct link). The ZIP file includes all the textures used in my guerilla projects (Retextured Guerillas, Winter Partisans and Nogova Armed Forces addons). Very nice textures, nice models - our Japanese colleagues did awesome work on these GIs I am very impressed by the woodland version, OFP needed them bad It seems we should cancel our effort to make some better US infantry from 1980ies now...

I suggest to wait for NAF infantry, they will be such a "generic armed force" you ask for...

What are bolids? I might be able to add them. Bolids - pieces of rock, falling onto surface of Earth. Too bad most of them burn in the atmosphere They make really nice traces as they burn, you may see the light trace they leave. Perseids are such a cloud of rock floating in the space, Earth usually encounters this "dust cloud" around 10th-15th August. Around that date, you may see TONS of bolids flaring in the sky... About that addition, maybe some really crazy modification of the flame script may do the job. But we are here to fight, not to stare on stars, aren't we? BTW we have such a saying which says that if you see the star falling, you may have a wish and it will be fulfilled in the future. Creating such OFP "wish-mashine" would be even better than plain effect...

I asked this a few pages back but all of the sudden it turned into a russia/czech debate. I just find the BIS effects are a weak spot. any thoughts on adding in new explosions etc etc? I think MAA has already initiated some talks with various burn/explosions/smoke scripts authors (I think he asked ECP, but can't tell more at the moment). I am sure MAA himself will write more soon...
