  1. Occupied Southern Sahrani (OSS) is an attempt at creating an AI inhabited nation that's on alert. Almost every city, town, base, and port is populated in some way. If anyone of your team is spotted by locals, your cover will be compromised and may affect the outcome of your mission. If you lose your transport back to base, try stealing a ride home from the local airport. Review your resources at base and use teamwork to plan, execute, and complete your mission objectives. For added fun when playing on a server with complete cooperation, take turns giving each person a chance to come up with different plans to carry out the missions. Features *Base respawn. *Kronzky's Urban Patrol Script *View distance and grass options provided by the ECS team *Time and weather selection *Fully functional briefings & debriefings *Random unit placements for re-playability Addons Required None The arms dealer and purchasing officer will leave in about 20 minutes to meet at the hotel at FB65 to exchange final payment for the arming codes. You must kill the dealer before he gets to the hotel room and completes the transfer. Once the dealer is confirmed dead, destroy the yellow truck containing his merchandise.     FritzDaKat, the missions weren't designed for SP but I just placed one in my ..\ArmA\Missions\ folder and I was able to play it. You don't get to choose your particular slot, and you don't have a choice for time and weather so completing stealthy missions during daylight will make things much tougher. You will technically have 4 respawns since your playable teammates will allow team switching upon death.

    Sunglasses!

    The way I see it is that it's up to the mission designer to add glasses to the player in the description file. I've seen this done in a james bond coop mission for arma. I'm not sure if it will work if a user already has a custom face. I have a feeling the custom client face will over-ride the one set in the mission.

    Problem with the forums? I don't see Fry's reply. In any case, I tried testing the mission with both leader positions taken and the game still wouldn't start with the same error.

    Fry, I had a chance to load your mission on my dedicated server and was unable to play. I was the only person and I noticed the minimum player count is 2 so i'm not sure if that's the cause of the problem or not (I chose a leader slot too). This is what I have so far... #1. Mission name in selection list is simply "Ambush". Please change it to something like co14_Red_Star_Comrades or similar. You can change this in the editor where you select sides, weather, time, etc. #2. Unable to run mission due to error: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles.G85_MarianQuandt03.'

    Laser-guided bombs

    This is the way I like to bomb without the help of a designator. It would be nice if they included a CCIP pipper as a mode, but oh well.

    server ping on list

    I would like to know the solution to this problem, i'm having it myself. I have a huge range open on my firewall for testing but my ping is still a question mark in the MP lobby. Anyone know why? *Problem solved* My router is a linksys WRT54G and I had to update the firmware to get it to work.

    custom faces / not able to join

    Regarding invalid custom file ..\face.jpg I too have this problem and i'm a bit disappointed to not see a explanation or solution. I've searched the forums, wiki, google, and the best thing that I can find is this post. I run a dedicated server (1.08) and people who can't connect on my server can connect on others. Is this is recognized bug or are we missing something here?

    Update: I installed the 7.11 drivers and it runs very smooth now if I only have one card enabled, without AA. Tried all the tricks in the bag to get crossfire to work, but now I realize I must throw in the towel and hope the next dual card investment will be of any value. Average frame rate is now 40 - 60.

    I did some more testing today and got strange results. I was able to produce the CTD when launching arma with arma.exe or fear.exe. It would happen when I would try to launch the game with FRAPS in the background. I would disable FRAPS, launch the game, ALT-TAB the launch it and it would work. The gains that I am seeing with CF enabled isn't as much as I hoped for. Without the CF with fear.exe I will get frames in the 20's range. With CF and fear.exe I would get near 40FPS. I want to keep using CF but I am unable to get over this problem with the flickering HDR and strange artifacts. I tried all sorts of settings with CCC, then I installed ATI_tray_tools without CCC and tried nearly all refresh options to no avail. Bottom line is CF will work (for me) renaming arma.exe to fear.exe but I am unable to get past the side effects. Next weekend I will try different driver versions to see if I can get passed this. If anyone has successfully got CF to work without the side effects, please post and let us know how you did it! I have been scouring the internet to get this to work. System specs: 2 ATI X1900XTX (512MB) driver ver 7.10 Intel C2DE6600 Asus P5W-DH Deluxe 2GB DDR2 PC8500 Windows XP (sp2)

    yeah actually I do notice some strange stuff going on. The flickering of HDR, and the creepiest thing.. I was playing last night and had NV on. When I was sweeping some buildings, a screen would flash and show a page of strange text, like a russian optical test page.... Tweaking required indeed.

    I can confirm that the file rename method works, I setup a video intensive mission. Here are the results: arma.exe with CF disabled in CCC - 25FPS arma.exe with CF enabled in CCC - 19FPS fear.exe with CF enabled in CCC - 37FPS Just to make sure nothing was wrong I used the console to rename the file from arma.exe to fear.exe.     Can you clearly hear the VOIP of others when inside or near loud vehicles that are running their engines? With TS, lots of us are adjusting our arma sound levels when mounting and dismounting vehicles. PS. thanks for showing us BI WIP.

    Must.. resist... begging! I think it would be AWESOME if the Javelin was fixed.. Just use the arma model and the old configs and scripts from the old OFP javelin that someone made and it should be good!

    United ArmA Community

    I apologize in advance about posting a somewhat sappy topic, but as I read these forums it seems that everyone agrees on the same things about armed assault. It's a great game that has a lot of potential, but it's also a game that feels incomplete. Beyond the hard-coded engine bugs which are becoming less, i'm pretty sure the community has the real life potential to collaborate and finish making the final touches in a standardized manner that all can use for the sake of compatibility. I see several super talented modders and moding "groups" making great additions and improvements. The biggest problem I see with these addons is that they are used very seldom on servers that run missions that would use them, this is a shame! I have a feeling that if a set of quality standardized addons were released as a anticipated super-mod (think BAS or WGL but on a more massive scale), most people would use it. I think the hard part would be to have enough cooperation between mod teams to share their work and manage to actually standardize their work in a uniformed manner. Maybe my fantasy of having BAS, WGL, 6thsense, and others working together to make a arma complete is just a dream, but I think it's possible and wanted to make sure it gets suggested. Who knows, it might even get enough publicity to land a paying career in the video game industry? Thanks for reading.
