  1. Hi there! Slight little problem that happened recently. I am playing vanilla (latest Zeus update). http://i59.tinypic.com/k06g6g.jpg (216 kB) I have the description.ext all set up, and previously before adding in Zeus, it showed up just normal: Operation: Sandbox. I checked the description file, and it shows up normal still. Any ideas why this happened? When I load, the load-screen name shows up okay, just here... I know it's minor, but kind of a visual bug that is annoying. :) Any help appreciated! DDCP

  4. Hi there, Anybody figure out how to open the UDP ports 2302 - 2305 via the Apple router? Still can't host a MP match since gamespy servers shut down. If there is a really good FAQ or how-to for my brothers and I, we would super appreciate it. They don't know how to forward ports, so all the help would be great! Thanks much, DDCP
  5. Hi there! So since the whole server switch, I've been unlucky to get my host up & working for my brother's and I. I am of course on a PC, but use an Apple Airport wireless router; I have Mac computers to access the router via the Airport Utility. I looked up a "how-to" for the port forwarding via this link: http://gigaom.com/2009/05/05/how-to-port-forwarding-on-a-airport-extreme-time-capsule/ I followed it & forwarded the UDP ports 2302-2305 (just like that), but still no luck. Is there something I need to do re: my ip address? Or any tips & advice would be very much appreciated! I'm pretty confident diving into things like this, but honestly am new to port forwarding... I've read a few articles & links helpful people have posted, and using that link above I thought I got it... most likely I'm doing something wrong though! Thanks again for any help... it's been a long while since we've been able to play MP! Best, DDCP
  6. Hi .kju, No not yet, but that was something I was thinking of looking into -- I don't have anyone nearby that would do that, but it was a thought... I'll still tweak away in hopes. Thanks for the help / suggestions... I'll keep updating this thread if anyone else is having trouble still...
  7. Boy, still cannot host (nor my 2 brothers) for months now. We've tried the port fixes, but still no joy. Anybody else find a workaround? It's killing us! Best, DDCP
  8. Hi .kju, Yes, I've seen that and have tried that many times... of course I could be doing something wrong, but I'm pretty confident with opening UDP ports, etc., and still no joy. Thank you anyway though! I've definitely run the list of tweaks... Best, DDCP
  9. Hi sillyflip, Unfortunately no, it hasn't worked. I've tried all the port forwarding tweaks, had my brothers do the same, etc. (been through the whole work of fixes)... still nothing! So frustrating... we haven't been able to play for some months now. I just wish there was a more intuitive fix (I know to some port forwarding is nothing, but given my trials here I think it's such an iffy round about way to fix this). I'll keep a look out for other solutions, but I guess in the meantime it's collecting "dust" in my steam library. :^( Best, DDCP

  12. Just bumping this... anyone possibly know how to help me with this? The patch a bit ago quite simply cut out our online play... Sorry to push this up, but it's just a tad bit frustrating when one of our staple online games just doesn't work anymore. Would love to get back on, and I've been trying really hard to figure out this port forward business... any help much appreciated! Best, DDCP
  13. Hey there, Is there ever going to be animation for the grenade launcher tubes opening/closing? I know there could be mods, etc., but was just thinking it seemed like a pretty simple and easy polish to add... wondering why it isn't implemented yet. Thanks! DDCP

    Hi there, This may sound silly to bring up again so long after beta & launch, but is there any reason why the grenade launcher tube animation is not implemented / done yet? Big fan, countless hours clocked, etc... no real complaints except the MP hosting issue as of late, but this one little detail really baffles me why it isn't done. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do, though I could be wrong! Anybody else agree? Very best, DDCP
  15. Yeah, I'm sure it's the switchover... thing is my friends & I have not been able to play since perhaps... 2-3 patches ago? Something weird happened and I'm sure it was prepping for the Gamespy / Steam switchover... but what is more odd is the last few patches have been focused on MP stability, etc., so clearly they are trying to address the issue. I've just seen the problem compounded way more since the recent patch however, so something is really out of order. I really hope to hear something from them asap though... I don't mind waiting, but as many are voicing, it totally sucks! Haha... I need my ARMA fix! ;^)
  16. Yeah, same... I've tried all the possible fixes, reinstalled, etc., etc. We literally cannot play MP anymore.
  17. Having this issue too... ports are open, etc. Last two patches have effectively made MP broken for all my friends... playing vanilla, etc. Any update on this fix? Two patches ago everything was perfectly fine... I'm sure it has to do with the Gamespy transition, etc., but this is effecting so many people it's got to be something fixable, no?
  18. Hi there, Since the latest patch my brothers and I have not been able to join. We are all running vanilla ArmA 3 (with Zeus), and before online games were working perfectly. I know the Gamespy service shut down, but we made sure to look for the servers in the "Steam" list... is there something more to be done? Ports, hotfixes, etc.? Very odd, and I can't seem to find out how to fix this. Best, DDCP
  19. Hi there, I'm trying to make a helicopter with a squad (helo & squad separate squads) work the "Transport Unload" via Zeus. "Land", "Get Out", etc. all work fine, but they seem to just fly past the "Unload" waypoints w/o recognizing a squad is in their transport space. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need the squad inside the helo have their own waypoint ("Get Out", "Unload", etc.)? Many thanks, DDCP

    Grenade Launcher Animation

    Yeah, noticed that with a lot of the bolt actions the hand animations are missing and some still feel like a work in progress. I do hope they finish that... seems like a natural (and important in my opinion, for immersion) polish they'd do.

    Helo - Transport Unload (ZEUS)

    No... this still isn't working for me. Here's my setup (no enemy AI, etc.): 1. Spawn in MH-9, flying or grounded 2. Spawn in Sentry/Patrol squad; drag them into MH-9 so they are inside seats now. 3. Give MH-9 waypoint(s), "Unload Transport" (have also tried "Unload") Upon approach the MH-9 just hovers above it (or flies to the next if I gave it subsequent waypoints). Can anybody re-create this and test? I tried this with ground units, etc., and still nothing. Do the squads need to be "attached" to the transporting vehicle? i.e. Do they need to be all one squad? Thanks again all! DDCP ---------- Post added at 17:41 ---------- Previous post was at 17:26 ---------- Ok, so this is odd... did some testing... - It seems "UNLOAD" works, but only if the transport vehicle is part of (or leading) the squad. A bit redundant in some cases if you want to create a helicopter insertion, as the transport helicopter will be "stuck" to the squad it transported, and can't fast exit. - "TRANSPORT UNLOAD" doesn't seem to work at all. Even testing the above (having transport vehicle and squad in cargo all in same squad), they still skip over this waypoint. I've re-created this with just about all the vehicles, etc. Anybody else confirm this? Seems "Transport Unload" is bugged (or redundant), and as far as Zeus FYI goes for this new waypoint system, it should be noted transporting only works if transport vehicle is part of squad in cargo.   23. Hey there sir! Thank you for the help -- I tried this, but still no avail. I'm not familiar how to pack my .pbo files any different, but I do think something is off still... can anybody try this out and see if they can re-create this situation? Now any new mission I do has the symbols instead of spaces... I really do think a recent patch or something caused this (perhaps just my files, not sure). Before the recent updates it always worked a-Ok. Again, big appreciation to all the help & suggestions! Best, DDCP
  24. Hi Yonose! Yeah, the symbols are the problem. The thing that is odd is that it used to work with spaces just fine -- perhaps a recent patch made this happen to user missions? You can see "Official" missions around mine that use spaces and they don't have any symbols... it really was working just fine a week ago probably. Anyway, honestly not a big deal -- I'm just OCD on presentation, and this part of the naming is server side only. If anybody else might figure out what's causing this, I'd be super thankful!
