I see a lot of people whinging about the lack of response from the devs...whilst I also have issues (but I can play 40% of the time and it rocks ), you have to be patient, and allow the dev team to see what the major problems are, then they have to try and re-create these problems (which is why they need as detailed info as possible), and only then can they actually attempt to resolve them...lengthening this thread with continued complaints is a waste of time. I agree with some peoples sentiments regarding the demo, it seems to have a lot of issues, perhaps due to being rushed out the door, but you cant expect instant fixes, particularly since the devs obviously wouldn't have released the demo if they had experienced these issues in testing. Be patient, give them a couple of weeks.

I am often getting the game sticking on the "receiving data" message after I've chosen my role...its really odd. It works 40% of the time and I really enjoy the gameplay, but I am unsure about buying the full version if its going to be this problematic to get a game going.

I heard some rumours their may be a downloadable version of ArmA available soon...I did a forum search but couldn't find anything related to this, apologies if its already been asked. If BI are offering a downloadable version it would certainly make a huge difference to all those who will be waiting. Also I notce a few people have talked about buying from
| since I am in the UK I was considering purchasing from here, but I would like to get a feel for how reliable this source is... Thanks for your time.

Forward As One - The Home of Adult multiplayer Gaming Forward As One gaming community is a community like no other! The unique thing about Forward As One is that we allow one clan per game to register on the site, which creates a really buoyant community and it also means people who want to play different games, can do so with people they know and trust! Â We are actively looking for a ArmA squad to make their home on the site! We just went live this week, and we already have a BF2, CoD2 and Red Orchestra Squad signed up. The only stipulation about running a Squad here is that you must have: 1. At least 6 members with an organised training/match night (game dependant we know) 2. The majority of your members are age 18+ You GET:
Your own public and private forums Your own bespoke website theme (click themes on bottom right hand side for examples) Your own clan pages to tell people about you etc. Your Squad leaders get admin status on the site We dont expect clans interested in this idea to do this all straight away, and we have a one month trial with clans to see how comfortable they are integrating with the community! Players love the idea since they can join many different member clans across different games and platforms, and clans love the idea since they are part of a bigger community of mature and adult gamers they can recruit from! Visit the site here for more info: http://www.forwardasone.org

shooting from the hip...my opinion is that you SHOULD be allowed to do this and the game simply punishes you by making it next to impossible to hit somebody

I really enjoy BF2, sure it has faults, every game does, but BF2 does deliver a very good multiplayer experience and the demo I played of BF2142 seems to improve it further. ArmA s a totally different kind of game, I prefer realistic shooters, and with ArmAs war simulation angle I reckon it'll be a nice change from BF2, but BF2 will still stay in my play list.
