There is nothing that will save this game. BIS cannot patch their way out of this mess. Overkill on needless graphics that will choke an AMD 6000+ and an 8800 GT... AI that cannot seem to move but can shoot a dime out of a goats ass at 1500 meters with iron sights. They robbed the ability to enjoy air and tank battles with the most worthless control system ever designed. I could go on, but most everything has been mentioned ad infinitum... Just for kicks, I paid $9 bucks for Queen's Gambit just to see if things got any better... Honest to God, it is twice as bad! Actually, I'm more embarrassed for BIS than I am angry. This was nothing but highway robbery of a faithful following of believers. These many followers and supporters from the first days of OFP to Resistance have stood by, waited patiently for almost 4 years and for what? Absolutely nothing.

Where & how to buy ArmA or Queen's Gambit
Dashkatt replied to mr_centipede's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Got it from GoGamer for a little over $9 bucks. I was robbed. Unless you want the 1.08 patch on a disk for safe keeping, this isn't worth the 9 bucks... (just my opinion). If you thought the original campaigns were bad, wait until you play Queen's Gambit. I'm feeling a little embarrassed for BIS. Such high hopes and terrible results. -
OK, I'm not posting to upset anyone's tender ego. I'm responding to the original intention of this thread... ArmA is just Disappointing. I've got a great system, (running STALKER with no problems). But when I try to run ArmA it's as if I just pulled half the memory and cut the processor in half. I recently got the 1.08 patch and fix. I had high hopes that it would make the game playable. It did not. The lag, the inability to quickly focus the gun sight on the enemy and other issues have left me feeling like I wasted my 50 bucks and waited almost 4 years for nothing. Such a shame. I did receive an email from Codemasters that had attached a link for the new OFP2 video just released. I find it almost laughable that after all this time that Codemasters may just have the military sim that we were promised from BIS. I didn't buy a great video card, fast processor, extra ram, a 22" monitor, etc., etc., just to turn all the settings back to the 1995 level of gaming. I'm disgusted to the point of giving up. Don't bother flaming me, I rarely come to the ArmA boards much anymore.

I'm anxious to try .90c. I've played through .90b and as you mentioned there were a few problems. Overall, I'd have to say that you've created a fun batch of missions. One thing that I really hate is that if you save progress on a mission, close out AA, then restart it, I cannot get the last mission to load. I suppose that is because it is a dynamic mission. No problem, I've just learned to finish what I start. Thanks for your efforts, the missions are a lot of fun. Reacher

Very Briefly: Finished the campaign It was fantastic No Bugs Tough as hell I want to play it again I want more missions As I suspected, Snake did not disappoint. This is a must-play campaign.

If Snake Man had anything to do with this campaign, then it will be a lot of fun to play and will be well done. I've played about everything he's done in OFP, but "Hero" is my all time favorite. I'll be heading to the site shortly to get 02. I just hope I remember my PW for your site. Glad to see you're still going strong, Snake. Reacher

Don't fret, that mission was FUBAR from the start. I don't know which BIS person did the beta on the AI driving, but it must have been Stevie Wonder.

Don't know if this info has been posted here yet or not. If so, sorry. December 21 the Armed A demo will be available in the US. http://www.fileplanet.com/features/filereserve/ It's about time.

With the attitude I have right now, hell, I'd buy the demo! Dash

I understand the world not revolving around the gaming community in the US. I certainly hope that it will at least be available for download here in the US. Like some of you, I have waited patiently for the past 3 years, (maybe longer?), for this sim to be released. I've actually lost track of the time waiting. I guess I can't blame BIS for not being overly excited about the US market. Our "gaming community" turned their collective noses up at OFP and Resistance without even giving it a try. They wanted more of something that I assume they found in crappy games like BF and BF2... (I despise those games.) OFP is one of the best, if not THE best FPS sim to ever be released. I shudder to think of the number of hours that I have invested playing OFP. I truly believe that the word has finally gotten out about the quality of OFP and the future of ArmA. A lot of players that originally ignored it are now asking when it will be available. I realize that if I have to download or order it from another country that I'll be paying extra to do so. I don't care. I want ArmA as soon as I can get my nicotine stained fingers around the box. Placebo, if you have any news at all, I hope you will take time to post it. If it weren't for our savvy European friends I often wonder what would have happened to OFP. Dash
