I'm probably going to get a few upgrades (Processor, RAM, Video Card) for the upcoming ArmA, a new mouse (Logitech G5 Laser) and a Wii Console. What about you guys?
-
No radio activation commands in mission editor?
DarkOmen replied to DodgyGeeza's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Try looking at the Activation selections. -
Exactly! That would be a good improvement. I hope CoC will release their CommandEngine 3 for ArmA soon. Woah, Hold your horses. We gotta get the game first ... lol
-
Thanks Shadak, you are great.
-
The fact there are now such huge squads will mean so many more possibilities., hell, someone could make a real RTS mod.
-
Who knows, maybe these are the reviews for people who still have 5 year old computers.
-
Sure they are.. in 2003. At least we know what arma looks like on the minimum requirements now. More like 2000, lol.
-
Anyone who tests a game on a 1600+ and says the game's system requirements are too large isn't really dependable. Although this isn't that bad of a review, I've noticed whenever a reviewer reviews a less mainstream game that is actually good they make up such silly excuses to give it lower scores..

To the people who are playing ArmA, how is it?

I wish I could. You are mean. -
That is really awesome. Thanks for sharing.

The BIS CTI sounds interesting, simple and fun. As for CTI, Battlefield 1985, and all those games for OFP are great but it can be pretty repetitive and uneventful in pub servers from my experience. I guess you can say that about any game, though.

A great DX9 card, such as a Geforce 7900, can come around $200-300. Depends on your motherboard as well, though. If you still have AGP you are a bit screwed.

-A metal military-style casing. Sort of like the one for the Company of Heroes Collector's Edition, I love that case. -ArmA Poster -Sahrani Island Map -Bonus CD with bonus content. E.X: sneak peak behind the scenes within the BIS Studio, exclusive interviews, soundtrack, etc -Worldwide shipping

Frankly I'd say that PC will hardly play at the minimum settings. You need a better processor, a (much)better video card, more RAM, and probably a load of hard drive space for all the mods that will be coming out. I don't think it will be unplayable, just not enjoyable.
-
That is just too funny .. damn!
-
I'm also curious more about the AI. I was pretty sure reading in interviews and such that there would be a greatly improved intelligent design + command menu of the AI. So far what I have seen is somewhat impressive, but not a huge step.
-
Shadak's videos are indeed very impressive. A huge step from OFP. Besides, just wait what will happen since AI is now moddable.

Great shots Ian, thanks for sharing.

Exciting news, the beginning is near.

This is a really cool trading service for console and PC games. How it works is your put together a library of games you want to trade. Once someone requests one of the games it lets you know and you ship it off. You get "points" which is basically money. You use the "points" to request games and buy games you want from other people and they ship it to you. The games for trade really depend on the people trading. The games could go as far as the first Doom game to a more recent game like Company of Heroes. You don't even have to trade games, you can simply buy "points" with cold cash and buy games at a cheap price. So far I've made about $70 trading off 4 used games. Hoping to get some good deals on older games that interest me and some upcoming games. They are planning to expand towards Canada and Europe in 1-2 months. http://www.goozex.com/trading....arkOmen You don't have to use my referral link, but I'd appreciate it. Just trying to spread the word.

How can you be so stupid? I Hate you for being so ignorant!!! But on the serious side .. it doesn't just happen on the internet, it happens everywhere. It's Human Nature. Totally agree. I was stuck in a similar void looking for a tactical game and not all this horrible arcadish ridicule. Sometimes in games like CoD2 or BF2 I tried so hard to play it like a proper soldier, even with a few friends to fight together with it always turned out like crap and extreme mental anguish. ArmA should well be worth the money. Yes it all depends on the player. I've played many Coop maps where it's almost as boring and rambo as any game, mainly because the other players only care about their score. Even though OFP.Info is great, I try to stay away from their server. However there are a lot of great players in the OFP/ArmA community to group up with, unlike games like BF2 where I found it impossible to even make a friend within the chaos. Agree with your whole post DEAD_RABBIT.

Third Person can easily be turned on / off by the server host. About the crosshair idea, that's actually not a bad idea for a modder to try out.

I personally have a huge hate and dislike for games like BF2 and CoD2 [insert badly-written-curse-infested rant here], but I try to keep my temper. It's a shame people, especially some older adults, can't do the same.
