I thought that, but I checked all the messages that get put into the junk folder, none of them were from sproket, looked harder, and still nothing about any games bought, so now I'm just eager to get feedback from them to see what happened, also, I need to get the second game charge sorted out. And to think I'd be playing the game yesterday, oh well, it just means its gonna be better than crack when I finally get it unlocked.

And the blame is to be put on sprocket ? WHAT PART ABOUT ACTIVATION EMAIL NOT SENT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND!? If a customer asks for an activation code, it it not your burden as the seller to provide one to a customer who properly placed their order? For those of you who don't understand the situation, the game requires an activation code, this code was displayed at the final purchase screen after the order was placed, on the same screen it stated that an automatic emailer would send me the same code as well as my purchase details. Me, thinking I could see the code there, did not write it down. However, the automatic email was not sent, to make it more clear- I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS EMAIL! If anyone would care to let me know if sproket actually replies to emails, that would be nice, although their number is not listed, but their company Idea Games has a Czech number listed, but I have no idea what hours they are open or if they have any english speaking customer service reps. Also, I need to quickly get the second charge removed.

I bought it on sproket today, a horrible experiance is the only way to describe it... I bought the game, forgot to write down the number to the key, but didnt think to, as I was supposed to get an activation email, well the email never came, I've been sending off emails, looking for FAQ's, refreshing outlook express constantly, created an account and found that I bought two copies of it somehow, so I'm really pissed I wasted a day just to get this... Did I mention I still haven't got my activation code yet?

    Royal Flush Impressions

Your politics aside, yes, I think anyone with a brain knows the US is not perfect and made many poor choices during the Cold War in supporting any dictatorships that were anti-communist. I just think that it could have been released unedited to the same welcome, I'm not fond of it when some assume that US citizens can't tolerate criticism of govt. policy, its almost a national pastime ever since the 60's and 70's.

Woah. So you guys are telling me that the US campaign in ARMA ended with the South being bad guys? Also you mention reporters and whatnot? Ok, that's not how it ended in combat ops. In combat ops you find out that SLA troops disguised as RACS killed civiies in huge numbers. Also, the story is told from a soldiers perspective, the only reporter in the game is killed during a siege at the airport. I'm as pro-American as they come, I support the war in Iraq, I even find common ground with Bush many times, etc. but I don't like the idea of having things selectively edited for a different audience, even if it wasn't govt. censorship, I find it uncomfortable that a company edits its own content to suit the eyes of a different audience. Perhaps it was a marketing decision, but to me it seems condescending like it was talking down to the US saying "Awww. Americans simply can't handle being shown that US policy is even capable of failure..." While I would not have liked it as much, the self editing that took place has bothered me even more, based solely on principle. Is that what went on here? Oh and here's another thing, how about the campaign goes US supports RACS against SLA and turns a blind eye to human rights abuses, then a few years later, bombs the heck out of RACS for invading a neighboring oil rich island, then ten years after that, the remaining RACS are supposedly making weapons of mass destruction, so the US bombs them again and adds some kewl counterinsurgency fighting after loyalists don't accept that they lost fair and square? (This campaign derives no inspiration from real life events or real countries, especially Iraq)

    The Soldier

What about using different atachments on the vest? The rig is pretty versatile and can take a number of different attachements and arrangements, although things like mag pouch placement wouldn't come into play much in AA, I guess.

    Ironsight ?

I think the sights are far too close in that veiw, aside from the obvious fact that the post isn't even in the notch (if there even is a notch). Guys, keep in mind the AK's sights are set a lot farther up the reciever than the AR 15 or M 16 many of us are familiar with. The cheek is rested on the raised portion of the stock, giving a total distance(the distance from the eye to the rear sight notch.) of 12.25inches (yes, I did just get up and measure it, hehe ) Many of you seem to want a distance of 8.875inches, a distance putting you with your cheek bone against the dustcover, that's gonna hurt:wall: This gun kicks substantially, not to mention the fact that many of you are opting for a sight veiw that would place your cheekbone in the path of a half pound chunk of steel slamming backward after each shot. BIS has it right with the AK. (the m4 aimpoint needs more periphial vision though)

    Ironsight ?

exactly. That's OFP & nw AMRA's competitive difference. Arcade shooters are a dime a dozen. and as for this top pic by Llauma, it's almost perfect. [ig]http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8601/ironsightge3.jpg[/img] just tightening the perspective would help to get the aim spot on. the centred gun 'feels' like someone is holding it out at arms length and not resting it against their chest or clavicle. I think the same effect may be achieved by taking the gun , keeping the same sight picture, just move it to the right, and perhaps obscure some of the upper left hand veiw. The distance of the sights from your eyes is perfect, and the gun is going to have to be lined up, otherwise the sights wouldn't be aligned. If I had to correct every little flaw, I say move the exact same image about .5 inch to the right, obscure/shade out the far left and upper left most portions of the screen, and blur the dust cover, and then, after making the hands tighter, it would be 100% perfect.

    Ironsight ?

Have any of you fired a real AK before? The sight picture is perfect! I don't knwo about you, but in order to get that close-up sight picture some of you want, you'd have to have your eye right over the dust cover. That's not exactly safe, or comfy, especially when the bolt carrier slams rearward, yikes. You can make a case for some of the veiw to be obscurred, as you typically only shoot with your right eye open (or whatever hand you are using) althought you may use both eyes open, the second picture becomes distracting. Some of you may be basing your expectations of a close sight picture on an experiance shooting an AR15 based weapon, in which the rear sight is at the very back of the reciever and a cheekweld recommending the nose be touching the charging handle is quite common. However, the AK is a much different animal, the sight is farther away, and recoil tends to make you wnat to keep your eye away from the reciever. This brings up my only problem with AA's sights. The Aimpointed M4. The sight picture has a too small a field of veiw. The Aimpoint, as well as any other red dot sight, is meant to be used with both eyes open, exactly as I use mine. When I use mine, there is a second image that exists, but it interferes less, considering it is a single red dot, and having the second image won't confuse you like when you use iron sights. (Even those with aisoft should know what I'm talking about) The "ghost" image should be noticeable, although not too distracting, but the field of veiw definately needs widened up a great bit. As a side note, am I the only one who seriously loves when dev's go out of their way to make a games guns realistic? Thanks BI!

    Occaisonal slowdowns in OFP

Every time I play OFP it seems to slow down occaisonally for about 1 second. This happens especially when looking in a new direction. I have everything maxed, except for distance which is set at 1000 and shadows, which I have disabled entirely. Here is my setup: OFP GOTY v. 1.96 -2.4ghz P4 with 400mhz FSB -1024 RAM -radeon 9700 pro I don't see why my PC should be having problems running OFP. The slowdowns are somewhat rare, but occur often enough to become annoying. Like I said, they occur especially when looking in a new area, or when firefights get really heated up. While that sounds like a standard "just can't handle it" I'm surprised my PC can't run OFP fine.

    Should I mod OFP?

I'm using XP home edition. My Flashpoint folder is in C:/program files/codemasters/operationflashpoint/resistance.exe, with resistance .exe capitolized and the whole thing surrounded by qoutation marks. I've tried all of those, and tried them again once you posted them. I may try the programs though. BTW I downloaded the 1985 CWC campiagn conversion.

    Should I mod OFP?

I just downloaded the wargames mod wgl@5 (or something similar) Will this let me play the CWC campaign with wargames features? Also, I downloaded the DMA stuff (models, anims) as well as the WGL terrain packs. But, when I installed Wargames, there is no shortcut, so I went on the website, got their instructions for making a link, but it doesnt work! It keeps saying that the target is not valid! What exact text is supposed to be there, quotations and all, basically I want someone with the mod to copy and past their target box text. I've tried it over and over with no luck!

    Should I mod OFP?

I was thinking if I should play the game original, as it was intended, or if I should mod the game a bit. I tried FFUR and thought it was pretty good, but there is no grass! Thats one thing I don't like; there is no grass in OFP. I know there is unwar's grass addon, but that seemed pretty complicated to install. Another thing, in the past, mods have been generally unstable and made my game experiance more of a hassle. I know for a fact that OFP tends to crash a good deal normally. Adding FFUR doesnt hurt too much; generally I have only had a few shutdowns, but never in the middle of gameplay, mostly just starting up a mission. Also, my PC has a hew minor hiccups, mostly just framrate issues, with OFP, but here are my stats... 2.4GHZ processor I think it only has a 400mhz FSB, could this be a source of my problems? radeon 9700 pro graphics card. 1 gig o' ram I have 17 gigs of free space on my 80 gig hard drive. FFUR was great, but it just didn't feel natural, maybe if there were grass, it might seem to go together. At this point, I either want to play vanilla OFP or an ultra modded graphics gourmet. I have played OFP a great deal before, and have beaten the CWC and Resistance campaigns. I am still looking for the right blend of mods though, So in the meantime, I've resorted to vanilla OFP.
