  1. Remove ECS_Quiet.pbo from @ECS/addons worked for me with no error message.

    I voted no, i think the getting shot animations are allright. Would like some blood and gibs with explosions though, on second thought maybe a ragdoll, blood and gibs combination would be allright

The hdr lighting aint an immersion issue for me so i'm not gonna comment on that but proper sound is. i dont no why threads like these apear lol, there just full of opinions of what some want and want others dont lol.. Wait and see what happens, then complain lol. we are all waiting to see what happens but the person who created this thread wanted arma players opinion, i just wrote what i feel is important.

  7. I disagree. Â I think the effect can be enhanced and refined but I 100% disagree to remove it. you are right but the effect is bad as it is now, so i vote either a hefty refinement or removal

  9. Get rid of the muffled sound in areas with structures, it doesn't sound right. It just sounds like the player put on some ear protection. I would love a dynamic sound engine but i doubt that's gonna happen but that weird muffle aint the way to go. And get rid of the disableAI not working after saved game

    CSM Betav2 Released!!

    Holy sh1te Chammy you got talent! This soundpack is amazing! Allthough i'm not sure my neighbor agrees with me I remember your first soundpack for Ofp was promising but this just blows me away! But i gotta ask if there's a chance of you making some realistic sounds for the A10 Gau8 cannon? That gun sounds like the hand of god. Actually all the gatling weapons on the aircrafts could use something simular. I've been fiddeling with it myself for own use but it requires some config changes so the Gau8 only fires in bursts and i don't know how to do that, and the sound needs cleanup and i can't do that either Anyways thank you for the greatest soundpack ever!

    Character Ragdoll and more

    Ragdoll is no big matter to me, i like the current death animations although i do agree it doesn't look pretty when the dying soldiers go airbourne. But if if ragdoll == lag i say better use the resources elsewere like ai. Just my 2 cents. Happy new year

  14. @You can spend a considerable amount of time in a mission without anyone firing a gun, you will just hear the environment. Well yes but that's another problem that in general firefights are to short with Ofp ai. I don't like to resort to ambient sound files to get the combat ambience. Imagine being able to put small west and east teams all around the island engaging each other in extendet firefights, and you could listen to that on way to your objectives, what a sweet atmosphere that would make. Or maybe i need to see a doctor ?
  15. Sorry i didn't know that my soundcart had to be a soundblaster. I've played alot of years with onboard noname soundcards and never gave much thought about it, mostly because sounds in other games was terrific. But just to set the record straight is wasn't complaining about Ofp sound in general and i agree that the explosions sound great, its only small arms fire i have a problem with.
  16. Well i didn't mean OFP sounds sound stupid but they don't sound right either, trust me i live not not far away from military training grounds so i know how weapons sound from a distance. Maybe OFP sound are realistic from a 1 st. person perspective but not from a distance. I know it would be extremely hard to make a truely dynamic and realistic sound engine where the sound is affected by hills, mountains, houses etc. But there's always room for improvement ay? edit. Also in the way Ofp ai handles weapons is there room for improvement that would affect sound, either all units fire 1 round including mgunners or 3 round bursts. It just doesn't sound right.
  17. @The sound is one important factor True true. Just wondering since the ArmA release date has been pushed if BIS is working on sound aspects to? ÄŽ'm asking because in my desperate need for ArmA i tryed to drowne my sorrow with the Battlefield 2 demo and i absolutely hated it, just looking at the physics made me cry. But one and the only thing i loved about it was the sound of the weapons firing, those sounds made me feel like i was in a combat zone. Apperently they used 2 sounds (a 1p and a 3p) for every weapon and then the sounds are further muffled by the enviroment. I still think the OFP sound engine is superiour in the way the sound travels but small arms fire in (i'm dead) Battlefield 2 sound better. Will the sound engine in ArmA be improved? Any Elite players heard any sound inprovements over original OFP?

    It can also mean that you have to many addons in your addon folder, try adding the command -nomap in your flashpoint shortcut if you haven't done so already. edit. or use a mod folder: -@nameOfYourMod

    As much as like the screens this suck! That means no Arma this year, and if release is pushed to first half of 2006, then i guess no "New Game" before late 2007 or early 2008. I'm still looking forward to Arma but this suck.

    Wow These T80's are beautyfull Been looking forward to these. I don't know how the T80 main gun sounds in RL but your sounds is a hell of a lot better than what i heard in OFP so far.

    Revolt 1998 Released!

    I just learned about this campaign today. Extremely cool, the campaign intro actually gave me goosebumps  first time any OFP mission did that to me Great atmosphere, music and voice acting! On to the nr.3 mission now and i love it so far. Defenantly looking forward to future missions/campaigns from you. Edit. Jeeze the ai pathing in capital city of Tonal is really terrible Couldn't find my team mate, turns out he was stuck in a building. Had to shoot the truck driver (poor soul) and drive to extraction zone myself to end mission. Anyway, got to Rebel Tide and got this error message "cannot load mission, missing addon "Jam_magazines"", but the mission loads fine. Maybe because i'm using JAM3. Enjoying this campaign very much!
