    The good thing about OFP is that you don't have to play with tanks and choppers, but other people can if they wish to (or you can play MP with them and you can take care of the infantery while others take care of the rest)... You know that's what makes this game so special...

    That DLL file is one that has something to do with directX... I remember having the same problem with an other game before, but the only thing I did was downloading the file and putting it in the right place (under windows somwhere)... I am sure that you will find instruktions somewhere, I found them on a forum somewhere I don't remember where... Can someone who knows more exactly what to do fill in here... And well, good luck...

    Not using islands?

    Streaming terrain doesn't mean that we will only have alot of random generated land, it just means that the computor doesn't load the whole map... we could still have islands, but they can be done much larger and have better texture if it doesn't have to be loaded as a whole map... Or am I wrong now? A nice way to implen that is to have a couple of Islands in the game, but BIS could allso release new islands on the internet, and in the end we will have a nice quite big group of islands to fly/drive on...

    Isn't streaming terrain just a way of making the computor load the new terrain and forgett the old one as you diskover new areas, in other words, the computor doesn't have to load the whole map when a mission starts... And if that was sucsessfully implented, we can in theory have the whole world in the game, it will just take a lot of HDD space...

    Playing without crosshairs and why i love it so...

    I got a pair of edimentional, they work with newer drivers than that, I got version 43.45 but they got the Nvidia 3D support... However I haven't been able to configure the glasses to OFP... (I can't get the iron sight and explosions in 3D) I know there was an old thread about it here on the forums... I have read it, but I didn't get it to work... And to get back on toppic, I have tryed to play without the crosshair, but I didn't like it so much, I didn't have any big problems when shooting (I allways use the iron sight anyway), but I didn't like to play with it since you can move the mouse without moving the screen, and that made me loose the controll I wanted when walking/driving since you can't see exactly how much to move the mouse when you turn...

    I see it this way, the more options there is the better game it will be, as Jinef and other have said a realistic mode would be great, no HUD when you'r just a soldier, and a wery realistic flying/driving... But it should ofcourse be an option, that way it will not annoy anyone since you can just turn it of if you can't hande it... One more thing in making it more real is to support more controllers at the same time so you can have a joystik to fly with, and a steering wheel to drive with, and be able to use for example all the buttons on a cougar when you fly a fighter jet (as you would have used them IRL in an F16)... And ofcourse the same with any other viechle in the game... Well, that's a dream, but I think that OFP2 can become quite like that if only BIS wants to make it that way... And I hope they will...

    One thing that allso would be good is if your character changed his looks and fittness during a campain, if you are fat from thebeginning you might be a bit thinner at the end because you have been running alot, or you might not be thinner because you have been driving a jeep as soon as you can, and the same thing with strength, if you have been shooting alot with MG's standing and holding them you will get stronger, and by that you will get better aim... That could later be used in bigger "missions" like MMOFPS mods for it (I'm sure that they will appear when we get JIP ), it would add a sertan RPG element...

    Why not both, the vehicles wich have automatic gear in reality should ofcourse have it in the game, but vehicles that don't have it should have a gearbox, just as in real life...

    You can alllready use a steeringwheel in OFP, but unfotnatley not at the same time as a joystick... That is something they allso should implent, but that is an other toppic... And for this toppic, I think it would be ok with just one button for shifting up and one for shifting down... and ofcousre in offroad veichels there should be a extra low set of gears (just as in reality)...

    One more thing that would be really useful in urban combat is a new set of animations, the ones that are in OFP1 take far to much space sideways because you are going so low, that low profile is useful on the open battlefield, but when you are in CQB there shoud be a way to change the animations, a button (like F, when you walk in OFP1) and there should be more uppright animations... And ofcourse there should be things like peaking corners and that stuff... And then they just have to do a AI that can handle it...

    Hey, sure OFP is an infantery based simulator, but is it wrong to do it a naval and flight simulator too... At least I don't think so, and the naval part is something that should be much better that it is in OFP1, both the water and the viechles in it...

    Something that has irretated me for a long time is that on the MI17 there are a MG in the nose, but it cant be used... And I allso want a real realistic flight sim...

    Realism

    Well, as I have said in other posts, I think that the game should have a "simulation setting", and when you are playing with that, it should be as hard to fly a A10 in the game as in reallife (or as close to as possible)... The only thing that should count there is the players skill, and that should not be something the game can change, in other words, no diffrent classes (other that the looks of them), everybody should be able to drive/fly everything... The problem with that is that allmost anybody here who have flown the A10 in flashpoint (with joystick) can probbibly fly it a bit in real life (take of and mabye hold it steady), but in real life you don't have the option to restart the mission when you have flown a bit to low and crashed... One way to compensate that is to be able to choose to play the campain in "Simulation mode", and when you die in that you will have to start a new campain... that would mabye be kind of frusturating on the first missions when you have to play them over and over again, but it would be a real relief to have finished it... That is an option I would like to have, but as allways, it shoud be an option, and there should be an option to play the game with realistic settings, but the abillity to save after each mission, and replay even if you die...

    That is a great idea... I just hopes that BIS makes it... But if they does a system like this for the uppdates allso, they will have to make all uppdates backward compatible (I'm not really sure of that word) so it doesn't matter if you have a newer version of the game, you can still play on a server that have an older version...

    That's a good idea, but it should be optional, for example in easyer settings the scope should adjust automatically to the distans of the target... That would help for the people who buys the game, plays the campain, and just buys a new game when they are finished, in other words use it as a normal FPS...
