It's not really a regulation. There are churches (espeacially modern ones) that face other directions. But old churches were build with the "apsis" facing exactly east. It's because the sun rises in the east and the church service was in the morning, so they had light ;) Pretty simple reason. The entrace is usally in the west.

maybe a landing ship for tanks ;)

I have now found out that the error only occours in combination with the JAM Units. I used a normal BIS Soldier with InqMod and it worked fine  TY DKM the problem happens too with hisky "mod". No idea what exactly is causing it.

OFP Res v1.90 decoded config.bin didn't find a 1.91 version...

For the RAM. I have tons of Addons ;) What is affecting your RAM usage is other running programs and of course the Operating System. Win XP uses a lot more memory (they want you to buy more, those abstards) than win 2000. But I really don't have RAM problems with my System. As I said with OFP running I never got to 100%. 91% was the highest with like 10 other programs running at the same time. EDIT: I am very happy with AMD 2600+ XP and the one I had before (1 Ghz Thunderbird). It certainly doesn't need more power than Intel because my power supply wouldn't provide enough power to run a Intel Chip. And the cooler is noiseless like the rest of my computer. AMD is cheaper and you get by far enough CPU power for gaming.

Can't confirm that. I have 512 MB DDR and the only programm that ever used 100% of it was mathlab which is really much more RAM demanding than OFP.

normaly on Nvidia cards the green screen has to do with too many addons and not using HW T&L. So you should activate HW T&L if you don't use it. Other solutions are organizing the addons with mod folders or deleting unused addons

Set them on aware, and keep low and tell them to disengage. And they will follow like well educated dogs. (personaly I want them to engage at will most of the time and in battles I set them to "combat" behaviour, but then they don't listen that good to my comands.) Ah yes and if you're under fire from all sides it doesn't hurt to look for cover and give them "take cover" command.

Shadow, I cannot duplicate either of these bugs. The sound file for the lights are just a null sound, and there is no limit to the flying height. Can anybody else confirm/deny this please. I tried it again. Now I can fly as high as I want to. I did happend during Helo assault. Listen carefully to your speakers when you switch on the cabin light with the engine off. Not a big deal though. I was just wondering if you guys tried to simulate the buzz that sometimes come from a lightbulb the flight heigh is maybe limited when in cadet mode. check if you're playing missions in cadet mode

hmm why do they scream for alcohol when burning? Wasn't it meant to be scream for water which is "voda" if I remember correctly.

Ok I have this strange Problem with OFP for some time now and I didn't find any thread about it, The Problem only occurs when I am moving in ground vehicles at high speed or in larger convoys. The faster the Vehicle is the sooner I crash to desktop. It doesn't happen with really slow vehicles. And it doens't happen when I'm flying with helos or planes. Does anybody know about this problem? Actually I tried everything to solve it. A complete reinstall of my system and defragmentation of the hard disk helped slightly. Now It takes some more time until I crash. Actually I don't think it can be solved and I've never heard that anyone else has this problem. It appears to be a specific problem with my system. I write this just to report that problem. It didn't happen on my old computer (AMD Thunderbird Processor and ASUS A7V Board and Creative Live! Player Soundcard). Now I have a faster AMD XP processor and a NForce2 Board with onboard sound (ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe). I still have the same GeForce 3 Graphics card. I have a Windows 2000 System and OFP Res 1.91 (but it happens OFP in 1.46 too) And yes everything was tested with differend drivers and with the newest available drivers. Now I am using DX 8.1 but I had the same problem with DX 9. The odd thing is that is only happens in ground vehicles. I have two theories: 1. It's some sort of hardware-OFP incompability. 2. It's a hardware only problem, but then I can't explain why it doens't happen in other games and why only in ground vehicles. I even tried to fly with helos 1 m over the ground as fast as I could (obviously I crashed very often *G) and it didn't happen. Anybody heard about soemthing like this?

Damn you BAS!! j/k ;) I was about to format my harddrive and reinstall my whole system.. And now you spoiled my effort. I'll have to play with those beautiful addons now the whole day! ;)

Crash to desktop while moving in ground vehicles

Sorry for digging up this old thread. I just wanted to say that the problem has gone away with the newest chipset drivers (Nforce2) from Nvidia. I thought it's worth to mention it. -

no just standart BIS units and the BIS glock handgun.

Yes I did and that's also why I thought people should try if it crashes on their computer too. If not it's maybe not a general Bug and then i'll do further investigation. So far it crashes on EVERY SINGLE COMPUTER that it was tried on (that's three so far ) Believe me or not. It's actually time consuming to track such things down. I spend 8 hours on it already - I mean 8 hours pure OFP crashing and documenting the steps. Due to the nature of the bug it looks like general handgun handling bug to me. I also E-Mailed BIS Support but got no response so far.

That's getting a bit annoying. Only because it doesn't slow you down (yet) it doesn't mean it won't. Luckily most people don't want to ruin the game and stick to pac/paa. But the more JPEG is used the more problems we will get. It's clear that JPEG needs MUCH more Video Memory and also more CPU power. I know JPEG looks very good. That's why some people think JPEG is better. It's not. The good look is payed with huge performance loss at the point where your video memory runs out. Before that you maybe don't notice it but when people continue to use JPEG you surely will. OFP is not made for using JPEG textures.
-
cool 100 views and 2 answers Thanks you for your help hoz and Aeon. I hope BIS shows more interest about it's game than the community.
-
oh please don't use Inquisitors JPEG textures. It's incredible waste of performance. There are very good pac/paa textures for your weapons available. Please use them. Not everybody has the latest graphics cards with more than 64 MB video memory.

The kolibri which comes amog others in a DAK Version was made by the Buggy Guy, Sebastian Müller. Not by Marfy. And DAK means something else. My guess is "Deutsches Afrika Korps" or in english "German Arica Corps"
