This is extremely unrealistic. I recommend watching some videos of real hand grenade explosions, which are mostly fragmentation grenades. Bodies close to it are penetrated by shrapnel and are not tossed around not even a single meter, let alone fly 20+ meters through the air. This isn't hollywood.

That saved my day.

Good work. If BIS now fixes the server reporting bug, I'll praise them on my knees. Sort of.

Actually .. if I had spent the amount of money on server hardware and software for the sole purpose of playing Armed Assault, like Nightmare has .. I'd be pretty damn ticked off as well. I agree that people should treat each other with respect, but on the other hand I've worked in several support departments, for several well known IT companies, and regarding my experience, a professionally working company can deal with angry customers without kicking them out of the line or denying them access to support interfaces ( like this forum is one, generally spoken ) A server that can not be accessed by public players who are not aware of the IP address is of little to no value. And severely asking to give this bug a higher priority ( after 6 months ) has not so much to do with a demanding attitude, but rather with justified expectation towards a software company who is seeking to improve their product. The fact that we've been asked to submit an Ethereal packet interception log ( which we did ages ago ) makes me wonder if BIS is using a ticket system like Remedy or something at all. Personally I am very disappointed about the current situation as well I have to say. @ Sickboy: Is there just *anything* useful you have to contribute to solve this issue ? Frankly, it does not really matter what your personal definition of a clan server is. My two cents.

It's close to impossible to navigate as driver in the STRYKER IFV. I love the look of the cockpit, but the screen showing you the outside view is way too small. ( Nope I'm not going to use 3rd person perspective to navigate vehicles. That's knob stuff. ) Couldn't it be switched to a full-screen view of the outside camera by simply right clicking like in most of the other vehicles ? Or am I just missing something lol.

First of all I sort of agree to the topic title. There's a tad too many coop servers up, playing coop all day long, while you really have to look for a decent 10vs10 player CTF/C&H or the like. On the one hand I really love cooperative missions. Especially when played as a team, with a teamspeak server and people you know. They offer a great atmosphere and last as long as a good movie. On the other hand nothing gives me an adrenaline rush but a PvP map. Because you face *smart* enemies that actually *think*. (Exceptions prove the rule.) I'd love to see a balanced number of coop & pvp servers running, so everyone has something to choose from.

As far as I know it's double pushing the left/right key ?

The actual penetration capability of 0.50 CAL gauges is around 34mm steel. This particular chart is for the 0.50 Machinegun, but the Barret should be similar, unless the muzzle velocity is way higher. Chart EDIT: Image too big. Replaced with link

I would vote for adding children. Nothing makes a war as horrible as corpses of children, and even seeing this simulated should make everyone ponder about the abyss which every conflict represents. I just fear they'd censor ArmA pretty quickly then.

Hey Kiwi. I didn't mean to come off smart, but your post indicates you know little-to-nothing about software developement. You bought a really nice PC there, and your hardware is not really the problem. Your operating system is. I've been a 1st level support engineer in real life for a couple of years now. I work for a huge insurance companies IT department, and we have several applications designed to work under certain operating systems. We especially have web based applications, and those were designed, using the ActiveX componenets os the IE6. When a user calls me who wants to open a support ticket because one of the web applications does not work, and I see he has Mozilla installed .. I tell him: No support. You must use the IE6. All I want to say is: Set up a dual boot system and install the game under XP. If the problem isn't solved by that I'll offer support until it is. -
That's neat lol .. Actually the uniforms look nice. I want to say Beach Party ! Advice ? sorry .. none right now. ^.^

What licenses should be used for our work?[url
desertfox replied to =jps=sgtrock's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I haven't read all of it .. but modders have no right to tell anyone how to use their work. You can not "license" the mods you make for ArmA. If someone makes a mod, I can go ahead and modify it again and publish it under my name without even giving him credits. I'd be an ass when I did that but you couldn't do the slightest ( legal ) thing about it. The only instance who has a saying about how the mods may or may not be used is Bohemian. Only thing I was not allowed to do, was, grab mods and try publishing them for commercial purposes. Furthermore, the aspect of legally sueing a private person for disregarding your whatever worded EULA, is a very theoretical one. I could go on for hours which issues this might include. Ever tried to sue a person in a foreign country in a civil suit ? You end up paying 20.000 US$ before you will even have your first court hearing after 2-3 years. Even a company like Mi*****ft gives a rats ass about how home users use the licenses. Microsoft has never sued a single private individual for using a not-licensed product. -
McShaka. Make a new post for your problem and include your hardware / software specs. No one is able to help you this way. Your decision.

Driver Stop Error 0x0000007F on MP only
desertfox replied to jimbojones's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Try to re-enable the mic and see if Arma runs. Then re-enable the webcam. If it crashes then, you found the problem causer. If you can play Arma with cam and mic .. you had old drivers installed. Bad ! lol -
Try installing these drivers for the AC97 onboard sound chip. Realtek AC97 sound driver & codecs

@ Amataras. Try to disable the "Onboard LAN controller" in your BIOS please. -
Depends on the security settings of the machine. If someone has a WXP pro box, he can configure it so, that only administrators can launch executables. But actually you'd get a message saying something like "You don't have sufficient user rights to perform this operation" if that was the case.

Glad it worked.

cant register to log an 8800 vista etc error
desertfox replied to kiwi1234's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
How about you read your game manual .. where it says "Operating system" before you post a rant like that ? I hate to say it, but the root of your problem are indeed the poorly developed drivers for the 8800 card ( Which has MANY problems in MANY other games as well. Google it up. ) and the fact that you installed the game on Vista,( which has MANY problems running MANY other games as well. Google it up. ). So, as always, please install the game under the OS it was designed for. It will work. Trust me.
