can't get the game start in vista

Game is meant for WinXP. All drivers for the hardware under Vista are brand new as well. Vista ships with DirectX 10, which is not downward-compatible on top of that. I recommend a dual boot setup with XP/Vista for now.
  6. If you take a gentle look at your games manual, you will see that this is a game made for Windows XP, as it says in the system specifications. If you have a non-OEM version of Vista, you have two free support tickets with Microsoft. I rather see the problem within the DirectX modules of Vista.

    CD Key Invalid

Could the people with the CD key issue post what sort of Antivirus programs they use ? Maybe that plays a role. Do you guys have additional anti-spyware programs installed that might prevent processes from altering registry entries ? *EDIT* It would be neat to know what operating systems you use as well.

    Windowed mode blurry

'Couple thoughts for the brainstorming .. Refresh rates ? V-sync ? Did you try getting drivers for the TFT from the manufacturer site, or do you use the windows plug'n play driver ? Anyone with a CRT affected by this issue ? Do only people with CRT dual display setups experience it ?

    System Crashes

I agree to the power supply theory. With an X600 and a 3.0GHz CPU I recommend a 550W PSU.

    505 Collector's edition

I got the German special edition and boy .. it stunned me. Here's what was inside: - DIYS kit to build a SS20 nuclear missile - A G36c in snow camo with ArmA logo on the barrel - 200 rounds FMJ NATO rounds - A small amount C4 explosives - A personal drill instructor with a whistle - General Guba romantic poster - And of course the inflateable main battle tank Seriously .. what do you expect .. lol

    Computer Crash

There's a demo troubleshooting thread - where you should look. Sounds like a driver related problem to me though.
  15. This is the inappropriate party to seek support through. This one is appropriate: http://www.sprocket.com/contact/mailform.php Let me break it down to you with a little example. Let's say you buy a Volkswagen. Let's say the Volkswagen breaks down a week later. ( Which it never would because Volkswagens don't do that, but just let's imagine ) Now, what do you do in order to get it fixed ? a) I go to the Factory and complain to the workers who built it. b) I go to the dealer who sold it, and make him fix it. Go figure ^.^

New Vista PC wont run ArmA

Can you exclude a mission-parameter related issue ? I mean did you test it in a clean environment like the editor, with the weather/fog setting to 100% clear, same time of the day and zero overcast ? I see a player disconnecting on one of the screenshots.

    Will my computer play AA?

As the above poster said: Best you download the Demo and give it a test ride As far as I can see you will be able to play Arma fine with medium-low settings. If you plan on upgrading, I would invest into a better gfx card and a bit more RAM. As far as I can see the Asus P4C800 does not have a PCI-e slot ( for the most recent gfx cards ) so something like an ATI 1980XT would suit the system well.

    Health system

Someone should make a TDM map where all players on both sides spawn with broken legs. And actually, when I shoot someone in the leg in Arma the leg becomes injured and the person can not walk any longer. ( Sometimes you have to shoot twice though ) Same goes for the arms .. when you hit someone on the arm the target can still walk but is handicapped concerning his aiming. It's already implemented. More or less. For the rest, I think the idea to ask for a sophisticated injury model that even works along with scores for saved men and such .. it's a bit off. In most of the maps I have played so far, especially on public servers where you don't have a set team of people who cooperate with each other .. people wouldn't give a rats ass for someone with injured legs lol .. they'd try to nick your ammo if they could. It's not a problem to script particular missions where saving injured people is part of the objective, and where score is awarded accordingly .. maybe even with modded extra features. And the last thing I would like to see in Arma is some sort of health indicator. Please.

    XML HOSTING

All you need is webspace that can be accessed from the internet. You create the XML, upload it to the webspace and enter the path into your Arma profile. If your gameserver has a static IP or URL, you can ask your gameserver provider to host the XML files on it as well. They are just tiny.

    www.buyarma.com

I checked out the site somewhat more, and the address mentioned in the whois is stated on the site as well. So it does at least give you a name and address of someone you can refer to. Still can not find a real Impressum though. I still think more than one aspect of the site seems fishy to me. The overall look is "A la geocities" and claims like or just raise an alarm flag. But I am a paranoid person I have to say heh.Fact is: The site guarantees delivery of the game 5 days after you place the order. At the max. How long has passed now the poster said ? Hmm 3 months lol. So scam or not. You should contact the Buyarma owner.

    www.buyarma.com

Okay - let's get that straight. - Someone set up a website offering you to buy Arma special editions when you send the money in advantage. - You transfer the money in advance, without any written or electronic contract. - This 'companys' employees inform you through MSN messenger about the status of your order. - You paid 3 months ago and still have not got anything, and the guys stopped answering your requests. You know what I call that ? Plain and simple scam. You know what ? The Nigerians do it all the time ! Seriously .. it's a well known betrayal industry. Google it up. So what to do ? Let's see. Coincidentially I am living in Germany and might help out. So let's see who is the responsible person for this website: There you go .. he is the responsible person. Name, Address, Phone number. Have complaints ? You should contact the responsible person, since posting on this Forums won't get you a penny back. And another thing: The guy lives in Germany and is obviously earning money with the site. So the site is in violation with MULTIPLE German laws and regulations concerning the content of commercial websites. ( The biggest one is, that there is no "Impressum" which shows the name and contact credentials of the responsible person .. but that's what you got Foxes for ) Hope that helps.
